| During her Google Hangout today, First Lady Michelle Obama reminded the audience that dogs need a proper diet and exercise, just like children do. The First Lady admitted that President Obama liked to tease their own dog, “Bo” for being lazy, but that they encouraged her girls to take him on walks. “Dogs are no different,” Michelle Obama explained to a woman on the chat. “You want to make sure they are eating a balanced diet, and if they are not an active dog, make sure that their food is reflective of an inactive dog and

OK - have a dog now for about 3-4 years, expert! Get slings of big bunns and football field width hips--become expert on diet. Have fat kid---expert on what should be served in the school lunches and which exercises to do. Now, we will hear we all need to have a radioactive site to grow our gardens because of the gigantic flourishing crop which can be produced. Then women will be required to dress as the queen of the Liar-in-Chief. Next thing will be the prayer rugs.

I have a hunch that Obie´s pal Sam Kass, their executive takeout chef from Chicago who has struck gold in the White House, is probably earning his exorbitant pay and perqs (golf with Obie, oh my!) by cranking out this rubbish for her to spew.

Never having had a household pet until now, Moochelle is suddenly an animal expert. What a farce. She should keep that mouth shut, perhaps get glasses, and examine herself in a three-way mirror. Pet owners can usually tell who likes and dislikes cats and dogs, but these people don´t fool me: they are not genuine animal lovers.

Please, oh please, make this stop. Big Moo makes getting a dog a campaign reward for her surly daughters who look like they care less. Next it was non allergic dog because one of her never smiling daughters has problems. Now she hauls poor Bo out like a prop whenever she thinks she benefits in a photo op. I´ve never seen a picture that shows Bo gives a rip but she´d have us believe she´s such an animal lover and expert we´re all supposed to be impressed by this latest claptrap? She knows nothing about real animal lovers and how much they care. It takes me longer to buy cat food than groceries.
Isn´t there someone who can put a muzzle on this dog?

When the daughters walk the dog(we know neither Michelle nor Barrack would), who picks up the poop? Are we paying someone to walk around behind the family picking it up? I thought we were in the middle of drastic budget cuts and everyone needed to do their fair share to save money. Let´s cut an aircraft carrier, but not the pooper scooper.

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

President Obama is eager to build public support for his health care overhaul in the few months remaining before its implementation, but waning enthusiasm from Democrats threatens his effort right out of the gate. Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. In comparison, just 27 percent of Democratic respondents said the reforms would help them. The president has long struggled to convince independent and Republican-leaning voters that his health care blueprint would lower premiums and expand insurance coverage.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
