Obama´s abusive slurs get a pass while Boehner faces media inquisition over ´ass´ comment

| The media double standard is flying high, as John Boehner is suffering criticism for language used by both President Obama and the Speaker of the House, while the Commander in chief was largely above reproach in the media for similar language. (snip) While Boehner is criticized for using a word deemed inappropriate for the Speaker of the House, Barack Obama used the exact same word regarding responsibility for the Gulf Oil spill. Barack Obama in response to the Gulf Oil Spill wants to know "whose ass to kick"

Two wrongs do not make a right - and hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue.
The Speaker of the House diminishes himself and the office when he uses crude, vulgar speech in public. It does not make him sound strong and determined. It makes him sound impotent and frustrated. I was very disappointed to hear this sort of talk from a Republican. It only lowers the already low bar further. There is no need for it. It was a mistake.
We have long come to expect such bad language and coarse manners from Democrats and their supporters. It should not be expected or accepted from Republicans.
This episode does not allay my doubts about Boehner in general. Foul language and cursing will not defeat Obama and the radical Lefists he represents.

Soory #3, use of the word "ass" is neither crude or vulgar. You want to hear crude and vulgar? You should have heard my wife when she saw the additional taxes taken out of my check after the first of the year...

I´m willing to give Boehner a pass on this. The frustrations of trying to work with Obama and the ever moving goalpost and Harry Reid the mummy who can not do his job would frustrate the heck out of me.

The issue is not the word itself but context in which is was used, plus the contemptuous (impotent) imperative mode of speech. Only losers tell people they have no control over to get off their ass. My respect for Boehner, not terribly high to begin with, has fallen. I am sure he can live with that - but I hope he will refrain from such juvenile language in the future, now that he sees what anybody could have predicted, that the double-standard Left-wing media will pounce on it to use against him. One wonders what kind of politician would not have known this, nor that such language only makes him sound weak and ineffective.
It´s only a guess, of course, but I suspect that your wife probably does not go around in public telling people to get off their ass if she doesn´t like their behavior. Even most sailors do not swear like sailors in public. Career USMC NCOs do not talk that way in public, at least while in uniform. There is probably a USMCJ regulation prohibiting such language. It is vulgar, disrespectful and ignorant. No public official should talk that way in public, least of all a Republican. We already know Democrats have bad manners, low tastes, and double standards. Permitting Republicans to join them and then complaining about the widely known Left wing media bias is not the answer.
If I am mistaken and your wife does make a habit of telling strangers and people in public to get off their ass when she is displeased, you have my sympathies. It must be rough eating out, going to church, or attending most social functions with her. (It could be one reason the invitations have stopped coming in.)

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

What Americans say in public about same-sex marriage isn´t necessarily a good barometer of public opinion, because, if we´re going to be honest, there´s a huge discrepancy between the opinions that Americans express in polls and the opinions they express at the polls.(snip)It´s important for Americans to understand that the same-sex marriage campaign is about the disenfranchisement of dissenters, not empowerment. Before America embarks on changing the concept of marriage, I hope they will at least agree on examining cultures that do not define marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. In their eagerness to achieve their goals, the pro gay marriage enthusiasts are marching towards what they perceive as progress and modernity while ignoring lessons from other cultures, history, basic human nature and the horrific and negative unintended consequences of redefining "marriage". Islam´s definition of marriage is one man and up to four women

During the highly publicized exchange between Bill O´Reilly and Laura Ingraham on gay marriage, O´Reilly made this statement: "There are Bible thumpers, and all they do is say, ´I object to gay marriage because God objects to it.´ You don´t win a policy debate in America with that." Really? Before central control out of Washington was imposed in 2003, policy arguments for criminalizing homosexual acts were won explicitly "with that." And because of "that," the idea of gay marriage has been unthinkable throughout the history of the American nation.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

We have already seen Peak Obama; from here on, it´s going to get rougher and rougher for Barack Obama. Even worse, the one word he must fear the most has just been uttered by a man regarded as a bit of a truth-teller among liberal elites. Joe Klein, the celebrated author "Anonymous," who wrote the best selling, truth-telling book Primary Colors about the 1992 primary campaign that brought us President Bill Clinton, has made it ok for liberals to apply the word "incompetence" to the Obama administration. This represents something of a breakthrough. Until now, it has been taboo

The CEO of Starbucks basically told a shareholder that if the shareholder believes in traditional marriage he should dump his Starbucks stock. Historically the job of the CEO has been to make money and increase shareholder value. It would seem telling people who don´t share the CEO´s personal beliefs, whether it´s gay marriage or abortion, to dump the companies stock is not a pro-shareholder action. This is another example of the liberal belief that everything belongs to liberals because they´re just so darn much smarter than the rest of us

News is breaking out all over: global warming stopped 20 years ago. A political earthquake has resulted from a feature story in the Economist magazine because the Economist used to be a consistent cheerleader for global warming activism. Doubts about global warming used to be censored by its London editors, one reporter confided to Stephen Hayward. So what will voters do to Democrat candidates in 2014 and 2016 when the former realize that the Democratic Party was lying to them? Is it time to run away from the issue for Democrats, journalists, and Hollywood personalities?

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Margaret Thatcher had more impact on the world than any woman ruler since Catherine the Great of Russia. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.
