A man who has been paid all his life without ever having produced anything of value, and all your peers are the same, it´s not surprising that you think we´re all on welfare.

Boy, do I hate having to admit that I agree with libs like this guy, but the fact is that it´s a very rare individual who is not getting a government check of some kind; entitlement, subsidy, etc or a check from a private source that, within five layers of checks, is also getting a government check. This country will continue to lean farther and farther to starboard until it simply goes belly up, unless we get rid of hundreds of thousands of government chair warmers and government checks stop flying around like confetti on New Years Eve.

As for entitlements, I guess you call something that you have paid for (SS) government largesse? As for medicare, I have had numerous pay slips that show money taken from my check for that, and now that I am old enough to be on medicare, every month money is taken from my Social Security check to pay for that. (BTW, my SS check is so small it hardly covers the amount spent on groceries each month. I rely on investments and a pension to survive, neither of which the government provides.)

This kind of careless, almost incoherent reasoning is, or ought to be, extraordinary coming from a high school, still less a college graduate.

That would seem more than a little extreme. Is it an attempt to establish moral equivalence? Defining deviancy down(or up)?

One wonders what a drug screen would reveal about people capable of thinking(!) in such a manner. Could chronic cannabis intoxication account for such confusion? I wish this could be investigated. It´s just a hunch - but if there is anything to it, it could explain a lot that otherwise doesn´t make sense.

When 50% of the population takes out more goods and services than they produce, its impossible for some to not produce more than they take.
Those of us that started working as kids and paid into the "system" our entire lives
are not welfare queens. We are the producers that made it possible for millions and millions to do absolutly no work their entire lives.
When we start to recover some of our past savings back the left wants to say the government is giving us something.

I don´t know where people come up with the argument that Seniors on Medicare get FREE health care. I´m paying Medicare premiums that are almost exactly the same amounts, perhaps higher, as the premiums I was paying for my private coverage before I turned 65. So I don´t exactly consider that being FREE.

This year One of the premiums went up 150% !! Fortunately I had changed that coverage to a different provider during the time that the government ALLOWED me to do so. I was notified of the intended increase after my rollover period had passed, which means if I had not made the change during the ALLOWED time period I would have been stuck with paying the 150% increased premium for the entire year, until my next ALLOWED rollover period.

Medicare is definitely not free ... and Seniors have to pay attention so as not to be locked into these arbitrary (Obamacare-caused) expenses.

I´ve got news for people like Christ Matthews who use Social Security to defend welfare dependency. First of all, except for people with phony disabilities and foreigners who are able scam the system to get benefits, most SS recipients worked all their lives and paid into the system only to receive the meager benefits they are given. Moreover, the average welfare family in the U.S. receives over $60,000 in annual benefits compared to about $14,700 for those on social security. Any fair-minded person will acknowledge that this is unfair, and it is disgusting for the ´progressives´ to use this argument.

No moron, a huge majority of us WORKED for everything we have and we detest YOU and your cabal of takers who think it´s ok to steal from others...

I am 63, and have NEVER yet received one thin dime from the US government. No welfare, medicaid, medicare, food stamps, social security, unemployment, tuition assistance, VA benefits--Nothing.
The only checks I ever got from the government were my tax refunds--probably 30 years ago--where I had too much tax withheld.
My older siblings and parents...same thing.

And I´m sure there are millions of people just like me in this regard.
So, Noel, how does that make me a socialist?

Giving credit to Socialism for everything people do together. Roads are socialism, etc. Entirely ignoring the difference between free association and government coercion.
