Barack Obama´s first trip to
Israel as President in jeopardy

Telegraph [UK], by Robert Tait

Original Article

Posted By:Attercliffe, 3/3/2013 4:22:37 PM

The Israeli prime minister was granted a two-week extension by Shimon Peres, Israel´s president, after missing Saturday´s deadline to reach agreement with rival parties following January´s inconclusive general election. He now has until March 16 to form a government – otherwise Mr Peres will ask another party leader to lead coalition talks. White House officials have said Mr Obama will call off his visit if no government is in place by then. The US president is scheduled to arrive on March 20 for a two-day trip that will also include the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Comments:
Awkward header suggests at first glance that Obama is in jeopardy as President.

If only.

Awkward, but we know what it means. It would make more sense if the first sentence of the article, located immediately below the headline and above the photo and dateline/byline, had been included in the intro.

The Telegraph is known for this odd formatting in its news articles.

A family member forwarded an email to me this afternoon. It is a message from one Mike Evans, founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team, and corroborates the information about the two parties. But here is the disturbing part from Mr. Evans´ message:

"My friends in diplomatic circles in Jerusalem have told me what is happening is that President Obama´s advance team is in the city meeting with those party leaders and encouraging them to dig in their heels. My contacts believe that if Netanyahu is prohibited from forming a government, new elections will be forced on the Israeli people, and the prime minister will not be given a necessary mandate. This would give President Obama a Leftist party with which he could work to divide Jerusalem and quickly create a Palestinian state."

Obama needs to go to Israel as soon as possible in order to restore his image as a respected world leader.

Obama has spent the past two months reminding everyone that he´s part of the Chicago political machine, lying, demagoguing, and threatening those who dare to tell the truth about him.

Yet after all of his hysterical demogoguery, and with his party in control of the government´s executive branch, the Senate, and with the mainsteam media fully on his side -- except for Bob Woodward -- Obama still lost to the Republicans on the sequester issue. So he looks like a loser. Not to mention that his approval rating has been falling.

And the press still seems angry at him for not giving them any access during his trip to play golf with Tiger Woods.

So Obama clearly needs a stage on which to act statesmanlike in the eyes of Americans and the world, which Israel promises to provide. So if Israel´s political problems force them to postpone Obama´s trip, it will be a setback for Obama.

Netanyahu will have to jettison some of the ultra orthodox parties, but he´ll form a government. Obama will visit. There are new parties vying for political turf, but things will work out. An American Presidential visit is too important to let political squabbles interfere, even if it is only Obama.

Republican congressional candidate Mark Sanford slammed the 2009 federal stimulus package that went to Clemson University’s wind turbine effort--where Democrat rival Elizabeth Colbert Busch is employed--as bad public policy and a poor return on the taxpayers’ investments. By Sanford’s math and reading of Obama administration stimulus allocation figures, the Wind Turbine Drivetrain Testing Facility received $43 million and “created or saved” an estimated 134 jobs. When divided, the numbers calculate to more than $320,000 per job, Sanford said. Sanford’s comments came during a visit to a Mount Pleasant branch of Lyerly’s Cleaners, where he carried in a load

As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. What we are witnessing, according to this theory, is nothing more than an inexperienced leader

Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
