| Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. has released a new public service announcement, suggesting residents can arm themselves to protect themselves against crime. The spot started airing Friday as Milwaukee County´s highest-profile law enforcement officers - Clarke and Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn - are part of the national debate over proposed gun control measures. Clarke´s 30-second audio spot seems to take aim at the jurisdiction of the Milwaukee Police Department and the court system.

One big problem. Once the citizen arms himself, where does he get ammo for his new firearm. In my area, the only available ammo is a few boxes of shotgun shells suitable for dove hunting. 22 rimfire is even totally unavailable.

The ammo supply will return when the companies catch up. This happened when Hussein was elected in 2008. Gunowners were afraid (righfully) that the Marxist wanted to disarm the country. I also think that the outrage and pushback startled the left when they started their ´ban this/ban that´ campaign.
We will have some blue states try to grab headlines by grabbing guns on their own but even in New York there are pro-gun protests in Albany.

The ammo shortage of 09 pales in comparison to this. To wit, just came from Cheaperthandirt. You´re out of luck if you want 22lr , .380, 38, 9mm 357.......
I remember the inconvenience of 09, this is starting to get scary . Especially for those poor souls who are just now trying to stock up.

Employers added fewer jobs in March than in any month in almost a year, a dark cloud after several months of slowly improving conditions in labor markets. Just 88,000 jobs were created last month, far below February´s 268,000 gain. The unemployment rate, derived from a separate survey, dropped to a four-year low of 7.6%. My unfavorite new Facebook meme is this bit of sillyness which has apparently been spotted everywhere from the feeds of my college friends to (allegedly) that of Richard Dawkins´ Foundation for Reason and Science: (Snip) I immediately knew that this was a bit of nonsense for the simple reason that Easter is an English word. The Greeks and Romans called it Pascha, which is why Easter is Pasqua in Italian, Pascua in Spanish, and Paques in French.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 86% of American Adults believe the person known to history as Jesus Christ walked the Earth 2,000 years ago. Justin Bieber’s pet monkey has been seized by German officials after the singer allegedly tried to sneak the animal into the country on board his private plane. The singer flew from Los Angeles to Munich on Thursday to continue the European leg of his Believe tour accompanied by the Capuchin monkey, Mally, but he did not have the required documents for the pet and now faces prosecution for breaking the country’s strict health laws.

A Wisconsin Marine Corps veteran used a concealed weapon to stop a man on the street from nearly kicking his ex-girlfriend to death on Tuesday. Charlie Blackmore was driving home from work at 4:00 am when he spotted the woman on the ground being kicked in the head and stomach by her much larger ex-boyfriend. The Marine veteran said he jumped out of his car and ran over to shake off the suspect. ‘I said “stop” and he starts coming towards me and that’s when I drew on him[SNIP] noting that Wisconsin’s concealed carry law allowed him to do so.

That´s a lesson one might draw from yesterday´s extraordinary column by Patrick Pexton, the veteran journalist who, according to the Post´s website, "represents readers who have concerns or complaints" about "accuracy, fairness, ethics and the newsgathering process." Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church.
