Stupid idea...posters here are appalled every time the White House brings out kids to support their ideas, so why is it suddenly okay if your idea is opposite that of the president?

The Obama daughters are protected by trained professionals, not Dad having a loaded pistol under the pillow where the girls, when under the age of 6, might accidentally discover it. Sadly, there are far more cases of a child discovering a loaded gun in the house and firing it than there are of the loaded gun defending said child in an incident.

I have no problem with adults owning guns...but they need to handle them responsibly. Keep them out of the inquisitive hands of children (unless under direct supervision of a responsible adult). Keep them away from any relatives with serious mental illness.

The kids who shoot themselves and each other "accidentally" are those who are unfamiliar with firearms. Kids raised around weapons learn how to be safe.

What´s wrong with forming a "children´s army" of marchers to protest that their parents are not permitted to protect them any more if Obama gets his way?

We need a major SwiftBoat-ing from American citizens. A media blitzkreig emphasizing that protecting one´s family and children is a right, not a dispensation from the White House, media moguls and Hollywood.

Somebody shoot me. I almost agree with part of #3´s post. Kids should not be at political rallies of any kind. They are not old enough to have a valid opinion on anything, and it is just creepy.

Yes, they are cute. Yes it is good to teach them about gun safety and marksmanship. My kids were taught as I was, and I am teaching my grandkids now. It is more important now than ever. Just please, leave them at home on protest day.

It must be depressing to be surrounded with people so incompetent that they are afraid of what they might or might not do if they are within reach of a weapon. People so stupid to think if they had a handgun they would keep it loaded under their pillow? And that’s what ‘untrained unprofessional’ people with weapons do? And that the only ‘trained professionals’ are Secret Service…and of course….the police!
Once one moves away from from the circle of nitwits trembling at the thought of a big, ugly revolver….. into the real world where there are millions of people capable of owning, handling, carrying and (if necessary) using a weapon safely it becomes clear that, first of all, it isn’t rocket science, and second, it’s not the big bug-a-boo that liberals make it out to be.

Quite a bit of difference between a rally where families come to protest an infringement on our Constitutional rights and a photo op the white house puts on using other people´s kids trying to get an emotional reaction from citizens.

The taxpayers are paying for the protecion of Obama´s children as they do all children of a president. Most people cannot not afford to hire professionals to protect their family. I Dad skilled in the use of firearms is a great Dad and protector.

Responsible parents are responsible, slobs aren´t and no amount of government intervention will change that. Meanwhile, I sure wish communities would revive the ´shooting matches´ that used to be a normal part of America. I´d happily go target to target against the local police, and especially the NY state police, for a turkey. I´d have to do it under an assumed name though, because the NY state police are the Governor´s private police force. They gleefully collect info on opponents and do things like reduce screening points at Albany anti-gun ´safe act´ rallies. Then they turn up the sensitivity meters on the detectors at the reduced entry points. ´Trained professionals,´ that´s just one of the problems with that exemption.

Having these way too numerous Oryctolagus cuniculus in our society is just sad. And they appear to not have a clue about ´trained professionals´. #7 has the right idea.

These people at the rally appear to be with their own children, NOT someone´s child acquired for a photo op.

#10, 17 - these libtards use the phrase ´trained professionals´ as a dog whistle for ´only the government´. They never have an answer when asked, "What about those of us who were trained to even higher standards than the aforementioned ´professionals´, but who don´t currently work for the government?" That´s when some of them blurt out the truth - they believe only the government (and its agents) should have the weapons. They aren´t really Americans, just proto-collectivist-slaves working to help their future would-be masters take over.
