Obama´s sequester idea
is now Congress´ fault

Investor´s Business Daily, by Andrew Malcolm

Original Article

Posted By:SurferLad, 3/2/2013 9:18:29 AM

President Obama's weekly remarks: Hi, everybody. On Friday, I met with leaders of both parties in Congress to try and find a way forward in light of the severe budget cuts — known in Washington as “the sequester” — that have already started to inflict pain on communities across the country. These cuts are not smart. They will hurt our economy and cost us jobs. And Congress can turn them off at any time — as soon as both sides are willing to compromise. As a nation, we’ve already fought back from the worst economic crisis of our lifetimes, and we’ll get through this, too.

The author says it is the mean ole Republican´s fault because they won´t compromise, forgetting that it was a Republican compromise that got us here in the first place.

Folks, I believe Malcolm´s column is a quote of Obama´s speech. He´s simply using it as a means to share Obama´s "opinion" that this "crisis" is the Republican´s fault.

The speech speaks for itself. It´s the president blame shifting and not Malcolm agreeing with him. Unfortunately, they left out the quotes and didn´t sign the president´s name, leaving one to think these are Malcolm´s words.

First Rule Obama´s sequester idea is just another example of liberal "facts"! As with liberal "truth" (they work hand-in-glove) they are 180 degrees from our understanding of those words. Liberal "truth" is whatever advances their cause of tyranny... they can say one thing one minute with "facts" and completely contradict those "facts" the next minute… and in their odd minds, if their political agenda is advanced, both statements are “true”. The worst mistake those not liberal can make is to give any of their nonsense even a small nod of credibility. Look at them and quickly dismiss as BEEE EEESSS! That’s the only way to defeat them. I wish the GOP would understand that… but then maybe they’re part of the problem, not the solution. One man´s HO.

This is simply the application of a tried-and-true formula of the Left. (a) Manufacture a crisis. (b) Never let a crisis go to waste. If you are community agitator (excuse me, organizer), first you generate anger against the establishment, then you direct it into a riot, next you blame the police for responding to the riot, finally you blame the establishment for both the riot and the police response. Solution: Elect the community agitator, who will prevent riots and crack down on police.

I reread this and every word is a lie. It would be tedious to parse the whole thing and rebut it point by point so I restrict myself to just one. He rejected raising revenue by closing tax loopholes. He demanded and got rate increases. He puts this in his pocket and now demands closing loopholes and touts them as good because they don´t raise rates. The whole thing is just like that. How can anybody deal with anyone so devious as Obama?

By the time Barack Hussein Obama swore the oath of office with his hand on Abraham Lincoln´s personal Bible 1,883 days ago, he´d made so many promises to the American people that keeping track of them seemed like it would be quite a challenge. Turns out, tracking the public promises that Obama kept was really quite simple. He didn´t keep them. One of Obama´s most famous sunken promises was that his would be the most transparent presidential administration in history.[Snip] Now comes the Associated Press with a report card.

To the surprise of absolutely no one outside the Obama Oval Office, those Crimeans who voted in Sunday´s trumped-up referendum opted overwhelmingly to rejoin Russia. This as thousands of Russian troops occupied the Ukrainian province, while an even larger Russian army happened to conduct ´war games´ on Ukraine´s border. Obama, the former community organizer, again telephoned President Vladimir Putin, the former KGB colonel. Obama reminded the Russian he´d broken international law. Obama warned the Russian the referendum "would never be recognized by the United States." Bet that stung.

Good morning. My name is Bill Johnson, and I’m proud to represent Eastern and Southeastern Ohio in the House of Representatives. Four years ago today, President Obama came to our state and promised our seniors that his health care law would protect their benefits. He said this: “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. I don´t want to interfere with people’s relationships between them and their doctors." Now, the reality is, not only is the president’s health care law interfering with these relationships — it’s ending them.

Hi, everybody. In this year of action, I’m doing everything I can, with or without Congress, to expand opportunity for more Americans. This week, I ordered a review of our nation’s overtime rules, to give more Americans the chance to earn the overtime pay they’ve worked for. While those at the top are doing better than ever, average wages have barely budged. Too many Americans are working harder than ever just to keep up.

As part of his desperate political plot to distract the country with something -- anything -- other than ObamaCare´s debacle and serial scandals, Barack Obama has been talking a lot about global warming. Forget about the Nov. 4 midterms, folks. The world is burning up. A crisis not to be wasted. Obama calls it climate change before his audiences because after this endless winter of polar vortexes and record snowfalls and ice cover, the word ´warming´ draws applause or chuckles. [Snip] Now comes Gallup with a poll showing a third of Americans thinks global warming is a threat.

President Obama did it again Tuesday night. He was trying to dodge blame once more for the ineffectiveness of his leadership and administration realistically addressing the country´s genuine challenges at home and abroad. Obama told the crowd: "What´s holding us back is politics. What´s holding us back is an atmosphere in Washington that puts a premium on saying no; puts a premium on an eye towards the next election instead of delivering on behalf of the American people." [Snip] Here´s the catch: While Obama was blaming politicians for keeping their eye on the next election instead of their current jobs,

Sen. Rob Portman gives the Republican Party's Weekly Remarks Hi, I’m U.S. Senator Rob Portman from Ohio, and I want to talk to you today about how to get America moving again. It’s been five years since the experts said the recession was over, but for millions of Americans, it feels like it never ended. We’re living through the weakest economic recovery since World War II, and a lot of folks are struggling to make ends meet. Unemployment remains stubbornly high; the number of long-term unemployed is actually at record levels. But these statistics only tell half the story. Eleven million Americans have become so discouraged that they’ve given up looking for work altogether.

Hi, everybody. This week, I traveled to New England, where I was joined by four governors who are working to raise the minimum wage in each of their states. And they’ve also joined me in calling on Congress to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 an hour. Because it would give nearly 800,000 Americans in their states a raise — and lift wages for about 28 million across the country. So these governors aren’t waiting for Congress to make up its mind. And in my State of the Union Address, I asked America’s business leaders to go ahead and do what they could to raise their employees’ wages, too.

While President Obama´s approval, credibility and trust poll numbers sink into a black sea, the polls on his wife and Secretary of State aren´t that great either. Their numbers are much better than POTUS, according to Gallup. But neither Kerry nor Mrs. Obama is as widely approved by Americans as their recent predecessors. With one exception. Go figure, eh? Kerry's highest personal favorability came years ago when he won the Iowa caucus in 2004 -- 61%. After that, it was pretty much downhill, to 52% on election day and 44% 11 months ago. The words came out of my mouth before I could stop them. “I feel sorry for Obama,” I said. As my wife looked at me in disbelief, I quickly added a correction. “Well, almost.” Beset by failures at home and abroad, the president cuts a lonely and sad figure these days. The expected rate hikes will be announced in the coming months amid an intense election year, when control of the Senate is up for grabs. The sticker shock would likely bolster the GOP’s prospects in November and hamper ObamaCare insurance enrollment efforts in 2015. The industry complaints come less than a week after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius sought to downplay concerns about rising premiums in the healthcare sector.
