We are DEFICIT spending 1,000,000,000,000 annually. We are reducing that amount by 85,000,000,000. So......we are still spending 915,000,000,000 billion that we don´t have. And...the amount that we will be spending after sequestration still exceeds what was spent last year.

When the government cuts spending by 100 billion MONTHLY, THEN I will sit up and take notice!

Agree with 1 & 2. We need to SUBSTANTIALLY cut our spending to the tune of 30% or more starting with all the various handout programs that are rife with fraud and outright theft along with handing bundles of money over to the muslim brotherhood!

Break it down to numbers people can relate too. Example:

Mr./Mrs.Doe this is what the sequester does in more simple terms.

Last year the budget was $10.00
This year the budget was proposed to be raised by $1.00 to $11.00
Sequester changed the amount of the budget being raised from $1.00 to .98 cents.

As you can see Mr./Mrs.Doe that the budget in fact is not being cut at all. It is only the amount of how much the raise of the budget will be.

If nothing happens at all isn´t it obvious that the government budget will remain exactly the same as the prior year?

Would you agree that if the same amount of money is available this year as last, that there is no reason that the government should need to shut down?

Cut the EPA by 75% and re-organize it into the Environmental advisory committee, with no authority to make laws or assess fines. They can then advise congress (as they should!) and let the elected officials make the decisions- which they will have to answer for at election time!
