| Well done Diane James! Well done Ukip! Just think what you could have done if that pesky third party hadn´t split the vote! Here, for what it´s worth, is my analysis of why Ukip did so well yesterday. I think up until quite recently, a lot of conflicted Tory/Ukip voters felt as I did: that if we only gave Cameron a bit more time to see which way the wind was blowing, he´d allow the authentically Tory voices in the Coalition--Paterson, Hayes, Carswell, and so on--to prevail in a Conservative coup by stealth. There will be a Ukip like movement/party challenging the Republicans before long...in fact, the tea party is already here. Now, if we could just keep the pesky professional politicians off the stage and away from "leadership" of any sort...

The name Tea Party has become unusable to label our beliefs due to the willful ignorance of the LIV. We need to begin calling ourselves Conservatives all the time, as in conserving (i.e. saving and preserving) our American values, economy, traditions. Throw the word "conservation" right back in the Left´s face.
I once hoped that we could effect change from within the Republican party, sadly I don´t think that´s possible any more.
When someone calls me a Republican, I correct him and say "No, I´m a conservative."

I am heartily agreeing with poster #2 that we need to go with the Conservative labeling, I‘m just not sure yet on the formation of a third party. That hasn’t worked out since the 1850’s, and is a long row to hoe.

The team found that being left alone to breed on its own was key. The discovery raises hope that other damaged reefs could ´regenerate´. The new research shows that an isolated reef off the northwest coast of Australia that was severely damaged by a period of warming in 1998. It was hit by coral bleaching, caused by higher water temperatures that break down the coral´s symbiotic relationship with algae that provide food for coral growth.
