Obama overplayed his hand on this one. No doubt based on more bad advice from his handler ValJar. It won´t stop him. His entire plot falls apart if he can´t manage to get a huge tax increase. That is the wealth redistribution that will be his true legacy. Step one destroy the economy and add millions to the government dole. Step two make everyone else poor paying for it. He has no intention of giving up on that dream.

Obama is still the community organizer whose goal is to push those in power to do what they want. He doesn´t want to take responsibility so if Boehner caves in too fast he doubles down on his demands so there will be no agreement with his name on it. With this crisis even Boehner has learned not to deal with him. A leader takes responsibility and gives credit but Obama takes credit and gives responsibility - ( Blame to the GOP ). Obamas sequester scare strategy to resist cuts is no different than any municipal government cutting the most important government services first but leave the waste and bloat untouched. The disasters he predicts could actually happen if the spending he defends is not cut by much more that the 2% now at stake!

Where Obama missed this one is that those who take from the government don´t care about government employees they only care about the check or the EBT card they get. As long as the checks keep coming they could care less about the people behind the scenes or in other agencies that they don´t take from.

If his sequester deal had included cuts to food stamps and medicaid then the LoFo´s would be rioting. Since Obama dreamed up the sequester he didn´t want to propose cuts to those programs so he targeted the Republican sacred cows. The Republicans finally grew a pair and now he´s in a box.

I really miss Al Capp and Walt Kelley. They could always provide comic relief from the antics of the Federal Gooberment.

Some how Wiley Coyote will escape blame and some how the Republicans will be blamed. That´s been the script for awhile.
The Republicans don´t seem to have any boulders to drop on Wiley´s head.

Since Boehner and his bunch have a track record that is less than sterling, I expect they will, once again, cave at the last minute. A "group of" who have been working in secret will come riding to the rescue to save us all from the catastrophe that is coming. They will smile and sanctimoniously pat each other on the back for their bipartisan compromise. The media will cheer. All will be well. Obama will preen. Best of all, we get to do this all again and again because Obama will make sure he never runs out of crises.

I would bet that when Obama first cooked up this Sequestration scheme 5 or 6 months ago, he never in his wildest imagination thought that republicans would actually take him up on his bluff. After all, no one has ever believed his bluster in the past, have they?

This has been quite amusing to watch him dangle by his own petard. I have always wondered what that looked like. Now we all do. Imagine how bad this would be for him if the media wasn´t covering for him.

It has really taken a long time for Congressional Republicans to figure out Obama´s shenanigans.

Pubbies are like a rather homely girl who finds herself being courted by the captain of the football team. She wants, with all her heart, to believe he finds her interesting, when all he wants to do is _______(you fill in the blank).

Only when Ms Homely sees him laughing about her behind her back and snuggling up to the Prom Queen, does it dawn on her that he was only interested in her because she appeared "easy".

Once Ms Homely shakes herself out of her stupor and denial does she begin to fight back in ways that will let others know what a cad he is.

The way I see it Zippy wins either way. If the Republicans cave he gets higher taxes and higher spending. People will care about sequestration because the media is going to whip them into a frenzy. Tonight I watched a snippet of the local news. Students who receive federal grants in Illinois just received last minute notice that they must complete pages upon pages of forms before tomorrow to remain eligible for their financial aid. You can imagine the hysteria reported in this story. It´s just starting and we´re going to be going insane hearing all the lies and watching this administration using sequestration as a club to beat us all down.

Good one for Boehner and McConnell. Although this so-called $85 million of increased spending will now be cut (I thought it was actually $44 billion), the over-spending will continue..big time just 2.4% less.

Obie will just have to look past Mooschelle tonight and open a can of corned beef hash for dinnner tonight and get over it, beaten and done for the week; you hear, Barak?
