Calling Karl Rove
American Spectator, by Quin Hillyer

Nothing, and I do mean nothing, could be more divisive to the conservative cause or to the Republican cause (two different things at times, but not in this case) than to have a third-party gubernatorial bid in a key swing state currently governed by Republicans, against a duly nominated candidate who is the sitting attorney general, with a history of punching way above his weight politically, a history of political canniness, and a record of being way ahead of the curve in promoting thoughtful, sensitive reforms for mental-health law and also being ahead of the curve in promoting thoughtful,

Forget about it.
Karl is busy.
He is trying to destroy the Tea Party.
This will make RINOs a safe species.
Rove cannot STAND the thought of limited government. It makes him ill.
And Rove is the principal supporter of all the RINOs on the Hill. They love him, he loves them, and they have the money.

Very clever but everyone knows Rove´s passion is hardly standing up for, fighting to the death for a real deal brilliant conservative star like Ken Cuccinelli. Mr. Bolling is much more the establishment´s cup of tea...

One way to avoid such things is to have a Conservative party that would pre-screen the outside challengers via its own primary or other process. If the GOP nominates a good conservative (which to my understanding Cuccinelli is), then that candidate would hold the dual nomination of the GOP and the Conservative party, as is done in NY. This would guide conservatives and GOP loyalists alike, and would crowd out any maverick "third-party" entries.

Bill billing only has himself to blame for the dimming of his desire to be Governor of VA one day. He stepped aside when Bob McDonald wanted to run. They are two peas in a pod moderate vs moderate. It´s his own fault his time is passed, he should have challenged McDonald in a primary or in the Convention.
What has Bill Bolling done for VA? Ken Cuccinelli has been an outstanding Attorney General for our State, the best I can remember.
I think the moderate wing would rather the GOP lose rather than have a true conservative as Gov.

Gov. McDonnell´s term is up soon and he cannot run for re-election in VA. So he probably has the Senate in mind.
He has been a relatively conservative governor, but he seems to be toeing the Republican Establishment line on anything non-state.
Cuccinelli was Attorney General of VA under McDonnell. There may be little love lost between them, as Cuccinelli is very conservative.
I would put my money on McDonnell supporting this RINO attack on Cuccinelli...and I wouldn´t be surprised if Rove is also behind it.
Rove needs to go away....NOW.

Rove cannot be trusted. His agenda is to promote himself. Why would anyone want to divide the Repub party unless they did not ever want a Repub to win. Picking a fight against Tea people can only result in further losses. If Rove is as smart as his supporters say he is then one can only conclude Rove knew his war on Tea people will destroy the Repub party. Guess that means Rove is hoping Dems continue to win.

Hawaii Law Lets Police

Honolulu police officers have urged lawmakers to keep an exemption in state law that allows undercover officers to have sex with prostitutes during investigations, touching off a heated debate. Authorities say they need the legal protection to catch lawbreakers in the act. Critics, including human trafficking experts and other police, say it´s unnecessary and could further victimize sex workers, many of whom have been forced into the trade. Police haven´t said how often — or even if — they use the provision. And when they asked legislators to preserve it, they made assurances that internal policies and procedures are in place to

Can the Sunday shows get better?

In the Washington media world, there’s no more rarefied spot, both for the host and the guests, than that of the network Sunday morning shows. So why are they so predictable, and predictably boring? Most members of Congress would kill to be interviewed on one of the shows, since getting such an appearance instantly brands you as an important person whose opinions are worth listening to. But “Meet the Press,” the oldest and most venerated of the shows, has been struggling of late, falling behind “This Week” and “Face the Nation” in the ratings, leading to some rumors about David Gregory’s

If you lease a car, don´t think you can get out of payments just because you´re dead. Death, it turns out, is considered "early termination" of your contract, and that can mean thousands of dollars in penalty fees. Sally Shafton, 81, learned this recently after her husband, Bob, died of prostate cancer. She now faces charges totaling $2,352.72 from Toyota Financial Services. Her husband had leased a brand-new Prius from Manhattan Beach Toyota a year ago. He knew at the time that he was ill but, according to his wife, "the salesman assured him that death would qualify for interruption

The bill was fully paid for and would introduce reforms to the program including ending payments to wealthy individuals and giving more individualized

What could Vladimir Putin’s seizure of Crimea possibly have to do with the upcoming midterm elections in the United States? Indirectly, a very great deal. But only indirectly. It has become the most conventional of conventional wisdoms that American voters have tired of controversies beyond our shores, like Crimea. They want to focus on problems at home, not to get involved in what a notable figure of the 1930s described in a different context as “a quarrel in a faraway country between people of whom we know nothing.” This opinion is supported by an undeniable sea-change in the nation’s attitude toward military

Is Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf.
