You may have noticed in the news recently that the folks we just sent to Washington to do the people´s business, aren´t. In fact, lead from behind by President Obama, they´re not doing much of anything except trying to dodge blame for not getting much of anything done. You may recall the "fiscal cliff" we were driving over not so long ago. Now, there´s "sequestration," which has to do with -- read this carefully now -- mandatory cuts of future increases in federal spending.

Another article which attempts, among other things, to paint the republicans as responsible lawmakers who feel that it´s irresponsible to allow the deficit to climb as it is. Further investigation by ANYONE, hiwever, would find that e republicans spent like drunken sailors durung the Bush years, half of that time while having FULL control of the presidency and both the hiuse and senate.

All of Washington are do nothing freeloaders that all need to be FIRED!

Oh, no! Obama draws

Oh, geez. Here we go again. President Obama Wednesday stepped into the explosive political eruptions in Ukraine to gratuitously warn the embattled repressive government "there will be consequences if someone steps over the line." Seriously? After 1,856 days in office, this naive yokel, who promised he´d charm the world into loving America again, still cannot resist the temptation to utter empty threats to foreign leaders, threats that they know very well he has absolutely no intention of fulfilling, threats that diminish any surviving U.S. clout abroad.

Some people think Monday´s national holiday had something to do with commemorating the birthdays of two of the country´s greatest presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Silly people. Monday was actually the fifth birthday of the stimulus spending bill signed by one of the country´s least great presidents, Barack Hussein Obama. That was back in 2009 when a billion dollars seemed like a lot of money. [Snip] The spending measure, Obama promised, was destined to create millions of new jobs and end one of the most frightening economic recessions in modern history.

Good morning. Few promises are more sacred than the ones we make to older Americans. Protecting the dignity and the security our seniors have earned is a commitment that spans generations and party lines. For example, during President Obama´s health care speech to Congress in the fall of 2009, he spoke directly to older Americans. “These steps,” he said, “will ensure that you — America’s seniors — get the benefits you´ve been promised.” Then, during a telephone town hall with seniors from around the country, he said he wanted to respond to what he called “hysterical claims” about his plan. “Here’s the truth..." he said,

Hi, everybody. In this year of action, I said I’d do everything in my power to expand opportunity for more Americans. And this week, I took action to lift more workers’ wages by requiring federal contractors to pay their employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour. These are workers who serve our troops’ meals, wash their dishes and care for our veterans — Americans who work hard and will get a raise as these contracts come up. This will be good for contractors, for taxpayers and for America’s bottom line. We know why this is important. Our economy has been growing for four years. Our businesses have created

Among the many costs of the Barack Obama presidency is an intentional corrosion for its own political gain of public faith in so many American institutions, among them Congress, the Supreme Court and the media. If numerous sectors of society are feuding or distrustful of each other, then a well-controlled central authority like a chief executive can more easily rule the pieces. It´s classic Chicago politics. Reporters Without Borders has released its annual World Press Freedom Index. What´s shocking is the United States’ ranking. During the fifth year of Obama´s reign the U.S. plummeted 13 spots to 46th.

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness." In "A Tale of Two Cities," Charles Dickens quilled those lines about 18th century France and Britain. But as often happens with great writing, the expressed sensibilities about one time in history also apply to others like, say, 21st century Washington. [Snip] Truth is, there might not be a United States as we recognize it without our even older friendship with France.

Here´s a little unsolicited suggestion for likely 2016 Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul: Ditch the Clinton-Lewinsky meme. Twice in recent days, the Kentucky senator has gone out of his way to drag into his comments Bill Clinton´s smelly sexual scandal with a White House intern. [Snip] Once again, as in 2007-08 Hillary Clinton seems to be a lock for the Democrat presidential nomination in 2016. Do we really want to drag her name into the midterm´s political discourse as the wronged woman, another victim of another philandering spouse?

Normally, Joe Biden´s vice presidential duties involve funerals and speaking in places that The Boss won´t be bothered about. But this time was different. No, Philadelphia in February isn´t your prime get-away destination. But while there for a photo op, Joe descended into the bowels of the train station to pretend-drive a locomotive. It´s one of the new electric choos-choos that Amtrak will use to haul Democrats up and down the Northeast Corridor. It was very exciting for the vice president as he ponders a 2016 run.

Hi, everybody. In my State of the Union Address, I talked about the idea of opportunity for all. Opportunity is the idea at the heart of this country — that no matter who you are or how you started out, with hard work and responsibility, you can get ahead. I ran for President to restore that idea, and I’m even more passionate about it today. Sarah Palin has made an endorsement in Texas. She’s backing tea party leader Katrina Pierson over Rep. Pete Sessions. In a Facebook post, Palin notes that Pierson’s “life’s story is full of hardships she has fought to overcome, which taught her firsthand the importance of self-reliance, hard work, and the blessings of liberty.” One of those hardships includes a 1997 arrest for shoplifting. As the Dallas Morning News reported on Valentine’s Day, “In 1997, five days before her 21st birthday, Katrina Pierson, then named Katrina Lanette Shaddix, was arrested on a charge of theft of greater than $50 and less than $500.” Pierson,

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 17, 2014 – President Barack Obama has elevated the right to have sex with a member of the same sex to the level of universal “fundamental freedoms” in a new presidential statement criticizing Uganda. But critics say his promotion of homosexuality in a continent that overwhelmingly opposes that behavior amounts to a form of liberal “cultural imperialism.” Obama wrote on Sunday that he opposed a proposed bill in Uganda that would criminalize same-sex “marriages” and impose life imprisonment for repeated homosexual acts, among other provisions, because “as a country and a people, the United States has consistently

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel (R-Ky.) are now in position to end the Tea Party’s death grip on the Republican Party’s political future. Last week, Boehner and McConnell faced down the Tea Party’s threat to cripple the government when they supported raising the nation’s debt ceiling. That move prevented GOP political suicide. If the nation’s credit rating, stocks and the recovery went down the sewer because of Republicans’ refusal to raise the debt ceiling, the GOP’s chances in the midterm elections would have been severely damaged. Raising the minimum wage to $10.10 by 2016 will help "people who just want to work hard," but it also will help those who want to "work less," White House economic adviser Gene Sperling told MSNBC´s "Morning Joe" on Wednesday. He argued that Americans support raising the minimum wage because it will lift "struggling" families out of poverty: "But they also know what it´s like to see a friend, a neighbor, where one spouse goes back to work, who would prefer maybe not to work. Maybe they´re working part-time just to supplement the family´s income. And they think, if that

How much more are black people in this country supposed to take? On Saturday, a Florida jury failed to convict Michael Dunn for the callous murder of Jordan Davis. Though he was convicted of three counts of attempted murder and also on a gun charge, a mistrial was declared for the first-degree murder charge. He will face substantial jail time – perhaps up to 75 years on the four charges for which he was found guilty. Prosecutor Angela Corey has also publicly declared her intent to seek retrial on the murder conviction. However, she is the same prosecutor who oversaw the Zimmerman

Listening to pundits talk about the potential 2016 Republican field, you’d be forgiven for forgetting about Rick Santorum. The former senator’s strong second-place showing in 2012 shocked—even scared—the GOP’s kingmakers, who saw in him an abortion-hating firebrand with no chance of beating Barack Obama. So it’s no surprise that today, the party’s mainstreamers are acting like he’s old news, again dismissing a Santorum presidential candidacy. Not that he cares. He’s too busy plotting another possible run at the White House. In recent months, Santorum has gathered his inner circle of longtime advisers to sketch out a presidential campaign. Barack Obama has penned a handwritten apology to an angry professor after suggesting that learning a trade would be a better career choice than studying for an art history degree. During a speech at a General Electric plant in Wisconsin, the President said that ´folks can make a lot more potentially with skilled manufacturing or the trades than they might with an art history degree.´ He was inundated with letters from art historians and journalists all furious at his remarks - but one professor´s comments caught his eye - and he sent a handwritten apology to her.

As American voters watch ObamaCare continue its Godzilla-like rampage across the national health-care landscape, it´s worth considering the collateral damage this political monster may be doing to the Democratic brand itself. What if ObamaCare´s problems become a metaphor for the modern Democratic Party? Two portents emerged the past week. The United Auto Workers suffered a humiliating defeat at Volkswagen VOW3.XE -0.49% in Tennessee. And days before that loss, voters San Diego elected Republican Kevin Faulconer mayor after he teed up his opponent as a captive of the city´s public unions. Two big constituencies sacked in a week.
