What Rush Limbaugh Didn´t Say
Irish Examiner USA, by Alicia Colon

Original Article

Posted By:abuela10, 2/28/2013 6:15:01 AM

Rush Limbaugh said that for the first time he was ashamed of his country and his words made the top Drudge headline and generated a ton of comments from talking heads in Washington. ´Ashamed´ isn´t the word I´d use but I share Limbaugh´s frustration with the endless lies told by members of both parties so that nothing ever changes but I believe he´s being disingenuous. We´ve never been fooled by the lies the politicians throw at us. Rush is just too polite to say is that he´s confounded by the stupidity of the American people who do fall for them.

Excellent piece by Alicia Colon, fresh off her skewering by Pat Buchanan.

Read it. She´s right on.

We don´t live in a free society. At the very least our speech has been inhibited. But Rush has risen to the challenge. Half the fun of listening to his show (I´ve been a dittohead since ´92) is determining what he doesn´t say. Kinda like reading between the lines.

`Rush still loves this country and believes in it. But when you sit there and read demoralizing headlines everyday about another Obama thug tactic, even the strongest of heart gets discouraged.

This country could recover in less than a year with Obama out of the picture, even if Biden became President, because he´s not an american hater in his heart.

Ms. Colon never disappoints. She understand exactly what is going on and why. She lays it out clearly for anyone who has an open mind. I have a fantasy of individuals with her mindset and moxie in Obama´s next press conference asking some pointed questions. I can´t decide if he would run crying from the room or scream, "Off with their heads!" He does remind me of the Queen of Hearts, and yes, I said Queen, and you can make of that what you will.

Rush didn´t say it because people in high places listen to his every word hoping they can sue him (again.) Rush is being careful; if he loses his ability to broadcast, America suffers. The cobras in the wings are ready to strike him down at the slightest hint of hate speech, illegality, sedition or other imaginary offenses.

Alicia sounds righteously cheesed off. I´m sure she reflects millions of Americans with her sentiments. Count me among them.

I´m old, none of this is really going to change what´s left of my life much. My children and grandchildren will have to live with it, but they will have grown-up in it and will adapt. As my wife and I watch the madness it is interesting to see the accuracy of ´Brave New World´, ´1984´, Animal Farm, ´Lord of the Flies´, and The Time Machine´ come true. Now you know why these books are no longer read in public schools.

Those books are no longer being read but "The Hunger Games" trilogy is very popular with young people. Those books are a perfect illustration of where we´re headed. I saw it firsthand in Romania in the early 80´s and I saw Romania in the trilogy.

if there were ever to be a permanent must-read author on ldot - Alicia would be the one. When I open this site every morning I scroll backwards thru the overnight stories just to be certain I´ve not missed anything important, illuminating or entertaining. Many times I notice that some overnight repeat stories are closed due to a ´´previously posted´´ status, and that´s a shame since these stories often move fast once the sun rises.

This column is a keeper. Alicia is as peaced off as the rest of us but she has a mighty pen/keyboard and enviable talent for exposition and argumentation. I love her. I admire her. I envy her...

Thank you Ms. Lucianne for making this a Must Read! The headline with Rush´s name got people´s attention. Kudos to Alicia who has outdone any writer of recent years in explaining exactly what is taking place.

I do agree, Rush is just too polite to say... that he´s confounded by the stupidity of the American people...

Americans who rely on the MSM and public education to inform and to educate them are akin to someone who has fallen down a well. There is no ladder to get them out until someone either lowers a ladder or throws them a rope.

Luckily for them there are "resuers" such as Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, and Fox News to name a few in the media. Also there are schools such as Hillsdale College as well as organizations like The Heritage Foundation which can tell them how to get out of their "trapped" situation.

Years ago I thought I was pretty smart until I woke up to how uninformed and in a "well" of manipulated information I was in. May God forgive me for being so stupid.

Another superlative article by Alicia. Depressingly informative because we all see the great minds seeing and stating the obvious evidence of our national twilight.

I connected Alicia with Dr. Ben Carson in her highlighting Political Correctness as being one of the tools of our destruction:

FTA: "These media clowns are part and parcel of the leftwing cabal that grew out of the 1960s determined to destroy the independence and spirit of what made this country great by mainstreaming political correctness."

If they can mute us, they can neuter us. And they have.

#5: I think #1 was talking about Buchanan´s rant against Jennifer Rubin. [Is anybody really dumb enough to take on a brilliant Latina who writes for an Irish newspaper? I think not.]

We lost this war 40 years ago.

When the white shoe, golf and celebrity set donning the great ship Republican blasted Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan and any Conservative who spoke out forcefully to set America back on its Constitutional rails.

They lost the battle for Hollywood
They lost the battle for the schools
They lost the battle for public education
They lost the battle with the unions
They lost ever damn battle that matters ... because no real American could believe it would come to this, so the battle was fough Ho-Hum and so-so.

And here we are, reaping the whirlwind

Amen, #37. After this last election, I´ve become an "independent." the republican party keeps yapping about "reaching independents," so my mantra now is "what are you going to do to gain my vote???" I guess my message is getting through: the number of fund-raising calls from the GOP has dropped dramatically.
Final thought: vouchers for schools, term limits for congress. It may be too late for either, but if we don´t do something drastic like these two measures, we might as well kiss it good bye.

Poster #8 is right. When you analyze what is going on and unwind all of the liberal tactics it comes down to our educational system. Granting school vouchers is the only solution. The left knows this and so do many thinking American parents. So, the liberal judges keep the kids in the liberal/progressive/anti-American indoctrination program called our educational system. Break that and the system will correct itself - after about 10 to 20 years. Yes, 10 to 20 years if we started TODAY. Therefore, we need to implement something in the interim while we work to dismantle our public/government school system. A good starting point would be eliminating ALL teacher and administrative tenure in all schools, especially colleges and universities.

This is a classic MUST READ as the devious agenda of the now apparently thoroughly radicalized statist dem party has come into crystal clear focus. The current micro-management goals, (-both regarding each individual American citizen as well as nationally!?!!), have been exposed by the dem pols´ own already implimented public policies emanating from THEIR beltway Boomtown! It has become glaringly obvious that the dem party´s radical statist agenda is in fact contrary to elected officials´ oaths of office. mmm mmm mmm

Tragically, the results of dem policies, aided & abetted by wobbly RINOS and the flunky lsm, produce neither, ´´domestic tranquillity,´´ nor national security, which are requirements of the elected´s OATHS OF OFFICE.

If Mr Limbaugh cannot state openly EVERYTHING that he feels, then he has been diminished. i see the comments that he is afraid of being taken off the air if he criticizes too strongly. that is pure nonsense. He is not reporting, he is expressing his opinion., All he has to do at the start of each show is to say he is expressing his opinion. That is FREE SPEECH. Furthermore, he can start his own station, like Mr Beck is doing. We know that the Obama Administration threatens anyone that does not agree with him and now they are starting to come out openly. Ms Colon is writing the truth. How about Mr Rush say exactly what he feels and not worry about
about repercussions, if that is in fact what is occurring. The President threatens in PUBLIC. It is no secret. All my opinion- free speech.

Sad to read the comments of some QUITTERS on this thread. If we could have learned anything from Ho Chi Minh, it´s that the only ´battle´ you have to win is the last one. Many of the Left´s ´victories´ have been tactical but not strategic. FTA: "The media has become treasonous because it no longer cares about truth and what´s good for the country if it harms the image of their lord and savior, President Obama."

This is one of our greatest EVILS of this time, the completely sold-out LSM to all things dRATS [as a whole]. This is like freedom of religion in Egypt currently, as long as you follow the Sharia Law controlled constitution and Muslim Brotherhood government.

We gave newspapers so long ago, "rights" akin to a doctor [keep sources a "secret," especially the unnamed high government official], except in their case, writers today don´t care if they "do no harm," but rather, do people see it´s MY byline.

"Freedom of the Press" comes with a sacred trust and promise to those who report and those of US who form our necessary opinions on living within our communities and beyond. We need their unBIASed take on issues that we vote on. In all this, even the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin lynching they manufactured at 0bama´s request, they fail US each time a tree falls in the forest, whether we hear it or not.

How long will it be until principled democrats (oxymoron) stand up against Obama and his thuggish regime? In any group of men there are usually some within the ranks with the courage to put self-interest and safety aside to speak out. It was a handful of these type of men who signed their names to the Declaration of Independence. Even within the British House of Commons there were brave men who passionately opposed King George III in prosecution of the war against the rebellious American colonists. Where are such men today among the democrats? Where are they? Patrick, Saint George, Utah

Regarding post #46, I was responding to poster #1. Yes, I have misspelled Pat Buchanan´s name. Deeply sorry for that. As far as not making a contribution, that is a matter of opinion I suppose. I certainly don´t parrot the Talk Show Host Party line on every issue. People have taken to bullying me and calling me a troll, so I adopted the name. This site benefits from unorthodox opinions. It is a real shame that the Pol Pot mentality regarding thought purity is so alive and well here and among the "conservative" movement.

This article was just as good as all of you said. Every word was well chosen.

We have to push back against the education establishment. Georgia has authorized public charter schools. Woo! Woo! I watched and saved John Stossel´s show on public education. He says that New Orleans is making huge strides in education because the old sytem was washed away and charter schools have sprung up. I´m excited.

Kids have to learn to read. Block BET, MTV, VH, and Nickelodeon. Limit the video games. Grandparents arise!

Certainly I do. Maybe I can explain why the staff considers your post incorrect. Alicia Colon is of Puerto Rican descent. Reconquista is a Mexican cause and I believe she would be as insulted to be lumped in with it as she would be to be considered no better than high-school journalists. I´m a fan of Colon´s,but I join you in not feeling affection for the "Talk Show Host Party line". However, she´s not really writing about Limbaugh in this piece. I have corresponded with Alicia Colon and she´s most certainly a person worth knowing and reading. Don´t get yourself booted, my friend.

FTA "He was raised by leftwing whites as a child of privilege and had the best education possible."

IMO evidence of a even a passable education is not being shown by Obama. Of course evidence of the president´s performance (grades, etc.) are not available to the people who I think deserve to know.

Thanks for all the recommendations to read the article. It was well worth it and mirrors what most of us here think about what Obama and his regime are doing to this country and the lofo voters who support him no matter what he does. He should be run out of DC on rails. After a good tar and feathering that is.

Food for thought -
Our duly elected legislators should -
1. Do what they think best for our Country?
2. Do what their constituents feel is best?
Therein lies the dilemma!
Do we constituents understand this paradox?
Do our legislators completely and fully explain their votes and actions in their pursuit of "doing the best they can for our country?"
Requires some thought, and some positive action! RINOS have a point -- just that their ´point´ has more or less, led America to Hell! Sorry, folks!

In the fall of 2010, the nasty midterms drawing to a close, Michelle Obama was contemplating her next move. Two years into her tenure as first lady, the breathless fixation on guest lists and china selections was subsiding into routine, and she wanted a plan for the rest of her husband’s time in office. Of course, her calendar would never lack for National Hostess duties—the obligatory social functions outlined in binders left by Laura Bush’s team. She had already launched Let’s Move!, the childhood obesity initiative, and Joining Forces, a program to help military families and veterans, was also in

ALBANY — New York, whose status as the most populous state has long been ceded, will soon fall behind Florida into fourth place, a long-anticipated drop that is rife with symbolism and that could carry potentially serious economic consequences in coming years. When the Census Bureau releases its latest population estimates on Monday, demographers expect that Florida and New York will be narrowly separated — perhaps by as little as a few thousand people — and that if Florida does not pass New York this time, it almost certainly will do so in 2014. The census figures underscore immigration trends, as foreign-born migrants continue to

The two tabloid editors at the centre of the phone hacking trial had a secret six-year affair at the end of which Rebekah Brooks wrote to Andy Coulson: “I love you ... You are my very best friend ... I tell you everything,” the Old Bailey heard. It is alleged that Mrs Brooks and Mr Coulson oversaw phone hacking and corruption at two of the country’s biggest newspapers. Details of the clandestine relationship were made public during the second day of their trial, where they are accused of overseeing a decade of illegal activity at The Sun and The News

The Oscar-winning film director Charles Ferguson has cancelled his CNN documentary on Hillary Clinton after what he described as a private campaign against the film by prominent Democrats. Ferguson said he had decided to pull the plug after being met with a wall of silence from more than a hundred people who refused to be interviewed for the documentary. He claimed that aides to the former secretary of state put pressure on CNN behind the scenes, and made clear that Clinton would only co-operate "over my dead body". He also blamed a public campaign by Republicans, who claimed the film would be

When Ted Sarandos put out the word that Netflix would begin producing original shows, he was swamped with story pitches that everyone else in Hollywood clearly had taken a pass on — including some scripts marked with coffee stains, smudged fingerprints and other telltale signs of rejection. That all changed in 2011 after Netflix bought the political thriller "House of Cards" from "The Social Network" and "Fight Club" director David Fincher.

Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning

Global sea levels have risen by 8 inches (20cm) since 1880 and scientists predict they could rise up to 3ft (98cm) by 2100. But despite the UN’s recent threats of war, famine and extreme weather, such a dramatically different world caused by sea level rise can be hard to imagine. He imagines what Earth would look like if the ice sheets surrounding the North and South poles melted, releasing
