| President Obama has gone all-in trying to get Republicans to blink and serve up another round of tax increases in lieu of the looming spending sequester. Eschewing talks with Congress or any pretense of leadership, he is instead flying around the country burning $180,000 an hour on Air Force One laying out a parade of horribles that will descend upon us if the growth of federal spending were reduced by one iota. Why is he doing this? Because the mainstream media are lapping it up. Poisoned meat coming to grocery shelves near you! Air traffic grinds

Our federal government is seriously broken. They and our clueless journalists are in a tizzy about $83 billion in budget "cuts".
If you had a $3,800 budget and you "lost" $83, what would you do? Spend the other $3,717? Of course.
The federal budget, according to base-line budget, would grow to $3,810 billion AFTER the $83 billion was taken away. This is a MASSIVE scam, not a massive budget "cut".

A good start would be to get rid of the baseline budget idea and the notion of any automatic increase. Then a cut would be a cut and we would be done with this hypocritical crying demagoguery as we have today over a 2 % reduction in the rate of increase. After trillions in real increases doubling the spending, this is not yet a real cut! GOP caving to this hysteria and lies must end or all the disasters Obama predicts will happen for real. Another fact is that even Obamas beneficiaries in the public sector will be destroyed by a total collapse just like the private sector is now being destroyed. Wake up!

Every working person in the US took a 2% decrease in their take home pay on Jan. 1st.
Their world did not come to an end. They tightened their belt and did the best for themselves and their families.
If this bloated government cannot sustain itself with 2% less of our money then we are truly doomed.

We have a real cabal here. There is a willful political party that wants to spend and grow government at all cost. There is also a majority of the press supporting that party, making it hard to overcome.
The employees of this spend-at-all-cost government are also duplicitous in the engagement. So this is a pretty tough hill to climb.
Those of us who are outsiders trying to restrain the insiders growing government for their own personal gain are at disadvantage.
I think that galvanizing the Tea Party movement in a serious manner is the best way to break the socialist/commy political shift. Also, Breitbart-style media control is also very helpful.
There are still more of us than of them. On a personal note, I´m going to have to call out even members of my own family for being Obama supporters. We each must do the same.

As always, the Democrats are playing the long game, if there is this much angst and discomfort over an $85 Billion INCREASE, will anyone in the future have the strength to attempt an actual cut? I doubt it. Harry Reid actually fought to retain the $25k for the Cowboy Poetry Festival, how will it ever be possible to cut NPR,ACORN (it´s still there, don´t kid yourself)Planned Parenthood and the rest. The Dems know the Republicans don´t have the wherewithal to fight to the death over ever dime the way they do.

#5. I stayed tuned for the clip, and it´s true! Obama DID backpedal ...
Obama gave a speech yesterday in which he drastically changed his doomsday rhetoric -- this is my paraphrase (not verbatim):
You may not notice anything from the sequester, unless you work in the Pentagon or if you´re a family waiting for your child to get a slot in Head Start ... but make no mistake, the sequester will hurt the economy ...

#20, the food stamp EBT fiasco, that we the taxpayers afford is a good place to start trimming. At a local bakery in our town, women come in with EBT cards and do not buy day old bread or basics, no, they order 100 dollar cakes for kid´s parties. On one such order the EBT patron was not satisfied that the $100 Cinderella cake had enough glitter on the frosting so threw it against the wall and demanded a new one. And they complied. I don´t believe this was the intent of food stamps or EBT but some of these have scams that run up $5k balances on their cards. How is this possible? But we will hear how they are starving it we cut as little as $1.

My question is why aren´t Republicans countering Obama´s "rallies of lies" with ads on TV that give the kind of easily understood examples like the one Poster #4 gave? Spend some money to actually do something to save the country instead of saving it for the re-election of the folks that got us into this situation.
I know I beat this dead horse regularly but when will the RNC realize there is more to politics than winning an election. How about just once debunk the lies of the democrats. You may just gain a few converts.

There´s no such thing as a "media blunder" for Obama. After the past four years, who could possibly assume such a ridiculous premise. The media will cover Obama 100%. If they look like they´re criticizing him, look again. It´s a setup for the next big coddle.

Yesterday Obama had a "meeting" with the House Republicans for SEVEN MINUTES. In other words, just long enough for him to claim that there was a meeting at which the Republicans refused to "compromise". He didn´t even try to convince them. Does this look as though the Republicans are caving? Does it even look as though they are being asked to do so? It seems to me Obama has given up on that and now is just settling for blaming them.

You would think this would open people´s eyes to just how much some depend on the government for their very existence. Obama has been going around touting just how this will bring the country to it´s knees with no food for children, no daycare for children, no education etc. etc. etc. The only thing that this will hurt are politicians who enjoy passing out goodies to the low information voters who think that government is the answer.

If Dick Morris and others are right, Fauxbama is flailing because he knows the economy is tanking and he wants to divert attention from his tax hikes (as cause) and instead fix attention on republicans re: the sequester.
My prediction: the press will still give him a pass for the next few years, but when it´s finally finished they´ll embrace the PIAPS, saying that she can solve our problems (problems they refused to discuss for eight years).

Bamboozler and team are probably fighting against spending cuts as hard as they are because they can´t afford to give an inch, lest a protocol be set which is opposite of their goals.
The DC lefties pretty much have a zero tolerance on spending cuts, a digital value of "no", if you will. They are conditioning the republicans and American citizens, in more ways than one.
There are only absolute values in their world and no dissent must be allowed first and foremost, to maximize long term destruction to America. Sounds like Middle East dictators or communist nations, aye? Go figure.

If the Sequester goes into effect despite all of Obama´s herculean efforts, how will Obama continue to be viewed as a Messiah?
Messiahs don´t lose, especially to Republicans, whom Obama has spent his entire presidency sneering at for their lack of intelligence on every issue under the sun.
The only way the Democrat/MSM machine will be able to salvage Obama´s reputation as a superior being after his Sequester defeat will to force the issue out of the public consciousness as quickly as possible.
Blaming the Republicans would be a major error, since doing so would remind the public that the Republicans were smarter than Obama at a crucial time, and that Obama is not only a loser, but a sore and whiny one.

My take, say all you want about the pubbies appearance of being in disarray. To some extent, they are. But, dont lose view of the dims. In their case, it is not the appearance of being in disarray, they are in disarray. I dare say that Obie´s hidden worry is that this year´s sequester and subsequent sequesters will put his ObieCare at risk of collapse. Imagine that.
When you think about it, the pubblies displaying disarray, whether true or not is the perfect cover for letting Obie stew in his own fat.
Obie owns the sequester. I doubt it will be all that hard to chop a few government travel junkets and other pork out of the spending plan. Only question is whose pork gets chopped out of the budget first after Obie gets done blowing away tax dollars on his AF-1 sequester circus.

MIAMI -- Lilly Pulitzer hosted parties in her bare feet and wasn´t afraid to get a little messy - just as long as she looked good and had fun, too. In the late 1950s, the Palm Beach socialite had time to spare and a wealthy husband who owned citrus groves, so she opened an orange juice stand just off the island´s main shopping street. Pulitzer needed to hide all the juice stains on her clothes, though. Instead of just putting on an apron, she asked her seamstress to make some sleeveless dresses

An attempt by Colorado lawmakers to ban welfare recipients from withdrawing their benefits at ATMs located inside strip clubs was killed by Democrats Thursday night, even though the state House’s third-ranking Democratic legislator supported the measure. Democratic Rep. Pabon introduced a bill on the issue two years ago, but it didn’t clear the state Senate. State welfare recipients receive their benefits

Add the name of Michelle Lynne (ne Robert) Kosilek to the list of modern phenomena the Founding Fathers would definitely not appreciate being blamed for. Little did they know what havoc they would someday wreak by adding the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution to prohibit “cruel and unusual punishment.” Now comes Kosilek, a convicted wife murderer doing life without parole. He/she is claiming that it would be cruel and unusual punishment to deny him/her a sex-change operation — excuse me, “gender-reassignment surgery.”Not to get too graphic, but Kosilek is begging for elective amputation of a body part.

Two very bad and extremely dangerous economic developments happened yesterday — and Wall Street appeared to miss both of them. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 40.86 points to 14565.25 after the Labor Department announced that the seasonally adjusted number of new jobs created in March was just 88,000 — far below the 190,000 or so Wall Street expected. The March figure was also less than one-third the number of jobs created during February. This led to the misperception that the job market tanked in March. It didn’t.

Duck Dynasty must make liberals heads explode. It is now the most popular “non-scripted” show currently on television. Its Season 3 premiere had 8.6 million viewers and a massive 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which as you might know, is quite popular with the advertisers. At the same time, each episode ends with the entire family at the dinner table where they pray before eating. Indeed, the Robertson clan is entirely evangelical. They take their faith in Christ seriously and exert quite a bit of effort preaching the gospel. The patriarch of the family, Phil, used to live

Art lovers, put away your wallets: In a surprise statement today, the Met said that it’s never tried to paint over rules requiring it to let anyone in for free. Lots of art connoisseurs know that the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s $25 admission charge is just a suggestion, and that you can get in by paying what you want, or nothing at all. But a lawsuit filed in state Supreme Court last November says the Met hides that policy from visitors. And two weeks ago, a former supervisor at the museum told The Post that he’d arranged for security officers

How do you survive a sex scandal? Public-relations reps and crisis-communications counselors have made careers of dispensing advice on such matters. And so the usual counsel follows a fairly trite and untested path: Be honest from the start. Apologize. Make sure your wife stands behind you. Hogwash, for the most part. Everyone apologizes, nearly everyone’s wife is supportive, and no one is honest from the start. But still some politicians survive sordid situations, and some do not. Why? Let’s allow history to be our guide. There are more than enough examples to choose from. It was only Tuesday that former South Carolina governor

The problem? This really is the old-fashioned way. And any conservative even semi-awake recognizes the game instantly. In this case the game being played with the so-called Office of Congressional Ethics, the OCE. This is what we now call “Borking.” The method of choice of liberals when they are frustrated by the public’s attachment or potential attachment to a political figure on the Right.

Barack Obama taunted gun owners and complained to supporters yesterday, “I am constrained by a system our founders put in place.” CBS Local reported: Ratcheting up pressure for Congress to limit access to guns, President Barack Obama said Wednesday that recent steps by Colorado to tighten its gun laws show “there doesn’t have to be a conflict” between keeping citizens safe and protecting Second Amendment rights to gun ownership. “I believe there doesn’t have to be a conflict in reconciling these realities,” Obama said in Denver, where he stepped up his call for background checks

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Sen. John McCain says he doesn´t understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns. "I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. However, the Miami Herald said Washington has issued special licenses for

The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
