The AP’s Claim that a DHS Official

Earlier today the Associated Press reported that a Department of Homeland Security official had resigned in the wake of the Obama administration’s decision to release thousands of illegal aliens awaiting the judicial process. The department cited budget cuts as the reason for the releases, despite the fact that the cuts would hit about one percent of DHS’s budget, and they have not even happened yet. The AP’s story turns out to have been premature. No one has been fired or resigned in the wake of the release scandal. The senior Homeland Security Department official in charge of arresting

A government worker who voluntarily resigns? Yeah, right. Obama needed a headline and the AP produced one like the good little lapdog they are. Another con perpetrated on the American public like that last one when those State Department workers were canned after the Benghazi debacle. You must understand that whatever comes out of the White House via the media is a lie.

Re: #8 - DHS is largely a consolidation of multiple agencies that existed long before the creation of DHS. Border Patrol, Customs, Coast Guard, Secret Service, FEMA, Immigration and federal air marshals. TSA was created out of whole cloth but they mostly replaced security workers previously employed by the airlines and regulated by the FAA. At its inception in 2002, TSA was initially under Transportation as it predated DHS. While all federal agencies are bloated, more so under this administration, the bulk of DHS consists of agencies that previously existed but were consolidated under the new cabinet-level department created by congress in 2003.

Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. are expanding the use of tools routinely used by computer hackers to gather information on suspects, bringing the criminal wiretap into the cyber age. Federal agencies have largely kept quiet about these capabilities, but court documents and interviews with people involved in the programs provide new details about the hacking tools, including spyware delivered to computers and phones through email or Web links—techniques more commonly associated with attacks by criminals. A handwritten note about Obamacare from President Obama was auctioned off for nearly $10,000. The auction house Nate D. Sanders put the final bid at $9,799. Some 10 people bid on the note in the July auction, and it was one of the highest bids for an Obama letter in his presidency. Here is how Sanders promoted the letter: "Excellent-content autograph letter signed by Barack Obama on his health care legislation. On official White House stationery, undated but likely early 2010, Obama writes in full, ´´Beth - I received your letter, and want you to hear back from me.

Like a battered spouse in an abusive relationship, the Pentagon paid billions of dollars to companies even though the same companies were known to have defrauded the government in the past, according to a report compiled by Department of Defense officials. But the Pentagon´s ability to research sanctions levied by DOD offices against contractors, and to monitor sanctioned contractors as they merge, acquire new names and become new companies, is as piecemeal and filled with guesswork as that of anyone trying to do such research from the outside, with limited integrated systems and unique identifiers, the report said.

Hillary Clinton, get ready for your close-up. The former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential candidate is the subject of a series of Hollywood projects set for release in the near future. On the line-up: An NBC miniseries called “Hillary,” a CNN documentary based on Clinton’s life and a movie, dubbed “Rodham,” dramatizing her early years as a Washington lawyer. Plus, there’s an HBO documentary about former President Bill Clinton in the works. Martin Scorsese (of “Taxi Driver” fame) is directing that film, which will focus on his presidency and post-White House life. What’s causing the flood?

His termination letter included allegations of serious workplace misconduct such as violating public records laws. By granting a yearly and renewable asylum to Edward Snowden, Vladimir Putin has challenged President Barack Obama. He has made it clear that the famous “reset” button with Russia, signed onto and endorsed by Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of State, meant only that the United States would allow Russia to get away with what it wanted in international affairs as long as Putin’s authority was not challenged. Russia would continue to aid its Syrian ally, no matter what “red lines” were crossed, and all the United States would do is urge Russia to act differently.
