Is it really necessary to remind the current crop of politicians that there was once a time when leaders of both parties developed long-term revenues with legitimate, visionary infrastructure projects? Transcontinental railroads...interstate highway systems...state water systems...national aeronautics and space programs.
And now, these easy, sleazy addiction-enabling scams. Quick skimming of meager winnings with lots of losers and ultimately...no future.

I didn´t know it was illegal.
If you have a couple $grand, you can open an online trading account with one of the discount stockbrokerage firms (lots of them). Gamble your brains out until the money is gone.

CHARLESTON, W.Va.— A prosecutor says a suspect in the fatal shooting of a West Virginia sheriff was legally prohibited from possessing one. Mingo County Prosecutor Michael Sparks declined to say Wednesday where 37-year-old Tennis Melvin Maynard bought the gun. But Sparks says "it appears that the system didn´t work." Sparks also declined to elaborate on why Maynard was barred from owning a gun. But Maynard´s father has said his son had mental problems and had previously been in an institution.

Hundreds of lucky state employees are opting to jump into retirement before they hit age 50 thanks to loopholes in the law, a Herald review of the latest pension report shows. In the past three years, there have been 475 state workers who retired before age 50 — going into their golden years with full pensions for some and partial payouts for others, a Herald review found. Actually, she is backing off. Here’s the thing about her now-famous MSNBC promo: Either she’s saying something radical or she’s saying something so banal that it’s barely even worth saying. The radical interpretation is that she thinks parents should have less say over how their children are raised and that “communities” should have a larger role. The very, very banal interpretation is that she thinks communities should do more to improve children’s lives and that thinking of them as “our children” might help forge that mentality. A new CNN/ORC International poll found President Obama´s overall approval rating has ticked up to 51 percent but ratings have fallen on his handling of the key issues on his agenda: immigration, guns, and the deficit.
