Feds free illegal immigrants in
Georgia, other states

Atlanta Journal-Constitution, by Jeremy Redmon

Original Article

Posted By:snakeoil, 2/26/2013 8:59:18 PM

Several hundred illegal immigrants have been released from detention centers in Georgia and other states, federal officials confirmed Tuesday. They said the releases were made to cut costs in advance of automatic spending cuts that are scheduled to take effect Friday. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials declined to say precisely how many detainees they have freed or where they are being released. But they confirmed some have been freed from the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, 145 miles south of Atlanta.

Comments:
The next step is to release all federal prisoners and blame those rascally Republicans. Too bad The pResident´s paycheck is exempt from the sequester.

They should be released.

And put on buses.

And driven to the Mexico border.

Big savings to be had that way.

What manner of crimes did these people commit? Does it cost more to jail illegal aliens than American citizens? If the crimes they committed were such that releasing them poses no danger to American citizens, then why not release American citizens?

These releases occurred by the diktat of His Imperial Pondscum in defiance of lawful decisions. The Chief Magistrate of The United States has once again violated his oath of office in the service of polical showbusiness.

I´m confused, why are they being referred to as illegal immigrants? I thought they were displaced citizens or temporary visitors or migrant workers or some other nonsensical term. Why are they now being referred to as illegal immigrants?
Also, I thought the libs wanted these people released and allowed to live among the rest of us.

Obviously the Weasel in the WH was just looking for an excuse to do this. It is a win-win for him. He will get their votes (and they WILL vote), and he gets to blame the Repubs. AGAIN. The ensuing chaos/crime will be gravy because he will say we need another gov´t program.

Will it work? The LoFoVo´s will believe any fairy tale he chooses to entertain them with.

A planet warmed by human-produced greenhouse gases poses significant risks already to people, cities and nations today and not just in the far-off future, according to a report the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change will release at the end of this week. And those risks could mean "abrupt or drastic changes" that could lead to unstoppable and irreversible climate shifts like the runaway melting of Greenland´s glacial ice or the rapid drying out of South America´s Amazon rainforest, the Christian Science Monitor reports. The dangers of a warming Earth aren´t limited to animals like polar bears. They´re immediate and very human,

For the second time in what has been a frigid winter in the Northeastern United States, Niagara falls has come to an icy halt as the six million cubic feet of water that typically flow over the falls every minute has frozen over. The flow of water over the falls typically can withstand icy temperatures like those that have frozen much of the country this winter, but Monday´s high of 9 degrees Fahrenheit brought Niagara Falls to a standstill - and photographers were there to snap some stunning images of the frozen waterfall. In January, another record-breaking cold front managed

CROSSVILLE — “Lies, damned lies and statistics” is a quote often attributed to Mark Twain. It should be a required quotation printed at the top of each government report and on the TV screen during an Obama speech. I once sat on a committee whose function, for want of a better description, would be that of quality control. It was our job to review records for compliance with legally mandated report formats. I quickly learned that the small group that physically reviewed the records had an interesting way of reporting results. The meeting would go something like this: “The number

Three years ago, the Georgia Department of Transportation, deeming the makeshift memorials a distraction to drivers and a safety hazard, began offering to place state-approved memorials at the sites of fatal wrecks. For a $100 fee, GDOT places a white sign with the name of the deceased under the words, “Drive Safely, In Memory.” Wednesday, a member of PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, filed an application with GDOT to have a memorial placed at the Hall County site where a

A rapid shift to wind and solar power is needed if the world is to avoid catastrophic global warming, the United Nations warns in a crucial report today. Emissions of greenhouse gases need to be cut by up to 70 per cent before 2050 to control climate change, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says. ‘Large-scale changes in energy systems’ are required, with coal power stations to be switched off and replaced by wind and solar. And the transformation needs to be made in the next 15 years or controlling climate change will become increasingly harder and more expensive. The report was published

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

LAS VEGAS — The Nevada Republican Party stripped opposition to abortion and gay marriage from its platform Saturday as state convention delegates instead focused on judging fellow Republicans on their worthiness to serve in office and adherence to GOP values. The platform, with few changes, was adopted overwhelmingly as the Las Vegas convention stretched late into the evening. The vote mirrors that of the Clark County GOP, which voted earlier to remove platform language defining marriage as between a man and a woman and statements opposing abortion. It’s hardly been a secret that in recent years the moderate center of the Democrat party has been driven away and what remains is a conglomeration of disparate blocs which, to date, the party has been able to treat as if there were no conflicting interests between them. As the midterm elections approach and the administration’s incompetence, along with the distaste for the president’s signature ObamaCare legislation, drive the party’s chances down further, the make-believe coalition of opposites may well crumble if the opposition doesn’t blow it.
