Listenin’ to the President
American Spectator, by Matthew Walther

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/26/2013 4:36:04 PM

I was just sittin’ here in the office listenin’ to the president givin’ a speech when, ya know, it occured to me, that there’s nothin’ more condescending than pretendin’ that, since everyone in America who is not an upper middle-class liberal drops the “g” in “ing” and, in all circumstances, says “ya” insead of “you,” the President of the United States should talk like this. Whadaya think? I’m thinkin’ it’s pretty silly, is what I’m thinkin’.

Comments:
Don´t be thinkin´ there´s more, because th-th-th-that´s all, folks.

I´ve just about given up on FNC these days. They need to issue a prior warning.

The Cult of Personality does not seem to require the ability to be articulate. How unfortunate for us that the Leader of the Free World feels it is acceptable to drop the ending g or ing when speaking. Very inappropriate and unacceptable.

The official said that the remains of the suspected Boston Marathon bomber were removed sometime before midnight Wednesday from the Graham Putnam & Mahoney Funeral Parlors where his body has been since last Friday. The burial location was approved by Ruslan Tsarni, the suspected terrorist’s uncle who has represented the family as he and funeral home director Peter Stefan tried to find a cemetery willing to accept the remains for burial. President Obama talks jobs Thursday in Texas. Starting a series of "Middle Class Jobs & Opportunity Tours," Obama travels to Austin to visit high-tech facilities and promote his plans for education and basic research funding. First, Obama visits Manor New Tech High School, where, the White House schedule says, "students are learning the real-world skills they need to fill the jobs that are available right now." Then the president tours Applied Materials Inc., "one of the high-tech companies that has made Austin a hub for innovation and job creation," said the White House. Obama is scheduled to make remarks at both places.

“We have to destroy her story.” The speaker: Hillary Clinton. The man who took note of her words: George Stephanopoulos. “I was with her” later wrote the man who is now the anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America, noting his agreement. At the time — early 1992 — Hillary Clinton was simply The Wife. The chief adviser and partner in the then-blossoming presidential campaign of husband Bill Clinton. Stephanopoulos was the devoted Bill Clinton aide and public face of the Clinton campaign, on his way to making his eventual media career. On Wednesday, Representative Darrell Issa’s House Oversight Committee convened the ninth round of hearings on the lethal September 11, 2012, attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, a number of iterations made necessary by the administration’s manifold efforts to stall, stymie, and deflect the investigation. Testifying were Mark Thompson, acting deputy assistant secretary of state for operations, counterterrorism bureau; Eric Nordstrom, former State Department regional security officer for Libya; and Gregory Hicks, a foreign-service officer and former deputy chief of mission in Libya, who, after Ambassador Chris Stevens’s death that night, became America’s senior diplomat in country.

Suit Against NLRB to Proceed

The D.C. Court of Appeals will allow several employers to move forward with a lawsuit that would prevent the National Labor Relations Board from ruling on their cases. Three companies had sued the NLRB on the grounds that it did not have the authority to rule on labor disputes. The motion of consolidation issued by the judges will combine the suits and allow them to move forward with oral arguments scheduled for September. Glenn Taubman, a lawyer with the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, hailed the victory as another step forward to restoring balance in labor disputes.

The Cleveland kidnapping drama was unfolding on the airwaves, hour after hour, a riveting spectacle that was overshadowing every other conceivable story. Nothing could possibly bump it from the nation´s television screens -- or so I thought. When word came Wednesday afternoon that a verdict had been reached in the Jodi Arias murder trial, the focus of the cable news universe immediately shifted from Ohio to Arizona, where the defendant was convicted of first-degree murder. It was a day of anguish and emotion -- and a revealing Rorschach test of media values.

Much has already been written and said about the lack of media attention the Kermit Gosnell abortion case has received. Folks like Democratic strategist Kirsten Powers and Atlantic writer Conor Friedersdorf have come out to lambaste the liberal media for an unwillingness to make the story front-page news until it was essentially shamed into doing so. It’s hard to say why the nation’s biggest news outlets ignored it for so long. After all, “If it bleeds it leads,” the famous news saying goes, and Gosnell’s got it all — sex, death, corruption, gore. And the knee-jerk explanation,

In 2002, the U.S. military had just two kinds of camouflage uniforms. One was green, for the woods. The other was brown, for the desert. Then things got strange. Today, there is one camouflage pattern just for Marines in the desert. There is another just for Navy personnel in the desert. The Army has its own “universal” camouflage pattern, which is designed to work anywhere. It also has another one just for Afghanistan, where the first one doesn’t work. Even the Air Force has its own unique camouflage, used in a new Airman Battle Uniform. But it has flaws.

MAKHACHKALA, Russia — During a six-month visit to his Russian homeland last year, the parents of the Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev said, he spent his time reading novels and reconnecting with family, not venturing into the shadowy world of the region’s militants. But now, investigators are looking into a range of suspected contacts Mr. Tsarnaev might have made in Dagestan, from days he might have spent in a fundamentalist Salafi mosque in Makhachkala, the capital, to time spent outside the city with a relative who is a prominent Islamist leader recently taken into custody by Russian authorities.

It was an absolute hell house. Ariel Castro imprisoned his three victims in unimaginable conditions during their 10-year torment — feeding them through holes in a door and repeatedly impregnating one captive only to beat her until she aborted. Castro, 52, cruelly dangled the possibility of escape for the women — leaving the door unlocked and pretending to exit the house — before savagely attacking them when they tried to flee. Michelle Knight, 32, his first prisoner, became pregnant five times — but each time, he beat her until the baby died, she said.

After a remarkable House hearing yesterday, we can say this with almost complete certainty: The Obama administration knew perfectly well that last year’s Sept. 11 attack on Americans and American facilities in Benghazi was a terrorist act — yet chose to characterize it falsely as a spontaneous response to an anti-Islam YouTube video. We can say this because we learned during the hearing that on Sept. 12, State Department official Beth Jones said flatly in an e-mail, “The group that conducted the attacks, Ansar al-Sharia, is affiliated with Islamic terrorists.” We can say this because we heard the testimony

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W. The White House on Wednesday stood by its story that the Obama administration remained unsure exactly who was responsible for the attack on the U.S. diplomatic post in Benghazi nearly five days after it occurred even though new revelations show Ansar al-Sharia’s direct involvement. Gregory Hicks, the deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Libya and a self-described whistleblower, testified before a Congressional committee Wednesday that the body of Ambassador J.
