GOP congressman who donated to
Obama gets trip on Air Force One

Daily Caller, by Vince Coglianese

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/26/2013 12:29:46 PM

Virginia Rep. Scott Rigell became one of the rare members of the Republican Party to join President Barack Obama on Air Force One on Tuesday. According to FEC records, Rigell donated $1,000 to President Obama during his first run for the White House, and has been vocally supportive of Obama’s calls for increased tax revenue as a part of a sequester deal. Before departing on Air Force One for Newport News, Va. Tuesday, Rigell told reporters that he favored raising tax revenues through reform as well as some cuts to spending as a part of the deal.

Comments:
He donated to 0bama in the first election and supports raising tax revenues so why is he a Republican?? With Republicans like this who needs enemies. Good. Grief. This is beyond frustrating. He´s too stupid to realize 0bama will use and abuse him.

THIS is what a RINO looks like--NOT the Republican that is for smaller government but happens to be pro-choice or has no objections to gay marriage. This idiot not only supports Obama but he is also for raising taxes. He really should be a Democrat.

Right. More tax revenue. Why not? We see such great use of what they collect and borrow now, right?

Beyond that, words fail. Polite words, anyway.

Washington has been abuzz this past week over the new memoir by former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. Now Secretary Gates speaks for himself in his first television interview about his book. Our Cover Story is reported by Rita Braver: Robert Gates doesn´t pull any punches about why he now lives in a town outside Seattle: "Well, other than the fact that it´s the farthest place from Washington, D.C. …" he laughed. But it wasn´t all that long ago that he was Secretary of Defense -- the first person in history to hold the job under two presidents from two different parties. And

A police organization posted a disturbing video of what it describes as “the continuation of the thug cycle.” In the video, a toddler’s uncle and two other adults encourage the three-year-old to say vile things and hold up his middle finger. Megyn Kelly described the awful video, saying, “It’s the same as watching them pick him up and beat him physically.” No charges have been filed against any of the adults in the video. Now, the police officers who posted the video are getting pushback for putting it online. The association, which is different from the department, claim they had an obligation

3 Reasons Why the Radical Anti-

Today the Drudge Report covers the Justice Department’s racialist attack on school discipline policies. The DOJ policy is based on the idea that school discipline policies are racially discriminatory because black students comprise a greater percentage of students disciplined than their percentage in the general population. Call it exceeding the bad-behavior quota. That this four-year-old federal policy exists wasn’t news. I covered it in my 2011 book Injustice. What is newsworthy is how these radical racialist education policies will outlast the Obama administration, and Republicans are ill-equipped to reverse it even if they win the White House.

Michelle Obama and Beyoncé Knowles are both powerful women married to powerful men. They are friends. Their families have spent time together. They praise each other publicly and support each other’s projects. Few would be surprised if Knowles is in town for the first lady’s 50th birthday party later this month. (Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z, will be in concert at Verizon Center on Jan. 16, the day before Obama’s birthday.) As their friendship has developed, these two women have — wittingly or not — become markers of 21st-century feminism. “They are incredibly competent women who have not just flourishing careers but

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Wednesday he was “outraged” after learning — he said for the first time — that his administration purposely caused a traffic jam that clogged streets in a town at the foot of the George Washington Bridge into New York City as political payback against a mayor refuse to endorse him for re-election. Emails unearthed by NorthJersey.com contradicted Mr. Christie’s prior claims that his administration had nothing to do with the unfolding bridge scandal, and sent the tough-talking Republican into damage control. “What I’ve seen today for the first time is unacceptable,” he said in a late-afternoon

The Justice Department put an avowed political supporter of President Obama in charge of the criminal probe into the IRS’s targeting of tea party groups, according to top Republicans who said Wednesday that the move has ruined the entire investigation. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa and subcommittee Chairman Jim Jordan said they’ve discovered the head of the probe is Barbara Kay Bosserman, a trial lawyer in the Justice Department who donated more than $6,000 to Mr. Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, as well as several hundred dollars to the national Democratic Party. “The department has created a startling conflict of interest,”

It’s already been three months since the Obama administration debuted their draft proposal detailing what is, for all currently practicable purposes, a ban on the construction of coal-fired power plants (and even that reveal was the result of still another months-long delay as the administration struggled to formulate the rules in a way that could both survive the inevitable legal challenges while not restricting greenhouse-gas emissions so stringently as to disqualify even the construction of new natural gas plants — overzealous, much?). The rule finally hit the pages of the Federal Register today, opening up the formal 60-day period for

After donating $2.5 million to the Democratic Senate Majority PAC, America’s favorite Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent, former New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg, is signaling that his great crusade against guns is running out of steam. When he was not belittling or cajoling gun control’s foes, Bloomberg spent the better part of 2013 agitating for stricter gun laws.
