Don´t blame the Republicans Party as a whole. This is mostly the same group of "moderates" and "libertarians" who have always opposed the party´s core, conservative principles. The one exception is Dick Cheney, who is doing this in support of his gay daughter. As a parent, I can understand even though I don´t approve.

These people never consider the ramifications for what they do, but they feel good about themselves. They surely are driving Republicans to stay home at election time, because there is now no difference between the two parties.
This is written by a person who has no animus to gay persons, but just wishes that they would have respect for traditions. We wish them happy and wonderful relationships with anyone they wish, but just wish to exclude the word marriage from gay unions. If that makes me a homophobe, then I don´t recognize myself.
When this is all said and done, the new elites will be sueing the traditionalists even for thinking differently.

Private contractual arrangements are NONE of the government´s business. The only time government should get involved is if there´s a conflict among the contractors - - then the government´s courts can help settle the dispute.
Ergo - - no government at any level has any right to issue "marriage licenses." They´re unconstitutional. Private contractual arrangements are strictly a matter for free individuals to decide.
Wake up, folks - - individual freedom is on the line here. Why would any of us want there to be MORE government involvement?

North Korea’s young leader Kim Jong-un is waiting for United States President Barack Obama to make a phone call to Pyongyang to discuss easing tensions on the Korean peninsula, according to Russia’s news agency Itar-Tass. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
