King Barry is trying to squeeze out the most pain for the Republicans out of the latest crisis by even having Cabinet members out threatening to shut down essential services. Almost milked this one to the max - now on to the next manufactured crisis late in March. No time to "govern" but these crises require more vacation time and more campaign styles rallies. Nikki Haley said it best though "...my kids could find enough cuts in this budget..." But don´t forget - he has not handed us a budget yet - late again - and probably won´t.

I for one wish the sequester would happen. The market is oversold and needs to correct. Yesterday the Dow dropped almost 300 points and again this morning Asia and Europe are down.

Enough of the bread and circus routines coming out of this tinsel-town white house. We are sick of the fantasy of the first post-racial president and his retributive wife. Enough of fancy vacations, endless golf games, Wagyu beef, ski trips, and the private jet to end all private jets (for which we, the people, are paying). It is a collective madness.

and another question i have is why would the government cut jobs and furlough workers, those who contribute part of their wages back into paying, but not cut out entitlements, duplications, and waste?

And, #4, it´s not about cutting 2 cents on the dollar, it´s about not increasing spending by yet another dollar, but rather only 98 cents. Actually cutting spending has nothing to do with it. Washington is totally out of touch with reality.

The Republican message should be aggressive, loud and clear.

1. The sequester was Obama´s idea.
2. Obama will be the one who decides what is cut.
3. Obama will see to it that his own salary isn´t touched.

A Lo-Fo message that even Joy Behar can understand. This is about 2014 and these will be campaign issues we can use when Obama obfuscates.

What most lo-fo votes don´t know is that in Washingtonspeak, budget cuts are NOT cuts at all. It´s a reduction of proposed spending INCREASES. And that is because of this "base line budgeting". And that is the amount each federal program is to be icreased each year. It´s not based on what was spent last year, but what is thought to be "needed" the next year. As I understand it, this came into being sometime in the 1970´s. There should someone in Congress bring this up and make a concerted effort to get rid of the kind of madness. I ask you. Do you approach your personal budget in that manner? I shure as he$$ don´t!

To paraphrase Nancy Pelosi, we need to let the Sequester happen to find out what’s in it, away from the fog of controversy.

When you consider that this is not a real reduction in spend, but only a slightly lower increase in spending, it should be a non-event. However, trust the President to do everything possible to maximize the pain.

Bingo. Let the sequestration begin. Boehner, McCain, and Graham: stay out of the way.

The proper GOP response is to attack the Emperor´s (mis)management of the situation. How he will deliberately try to inflict maximum pain, as Homnick points out.

I´m not optimistic the Pubs will do the right thing here. They´re part of the problem.

I wish some pundit would add up all the BO predictions on what will happen (furlows cuts to schools, cuts to roads etc) and see if this equals the amount of the sequesters cuts? If we had these programs now and we are just cutting increases how do all thes programs (air traffic, boder agents, FBI etc) dissappear?
