Pope forces out
Cardinal Keith O´Brien

Guardian [UK], by Severin Carrell and Sam Jones

Original Article

Posted By:Emerson, 2/25/2013 5:15:01 PM

The pope has forced the abrupt resignation of Britain´s most senior Roman Catholic as the church made a frantic attempt to minimise the impact of allegations of "inappropriate acts" committed by Cardinal Keith O´Brien against fellow priests. O´Brien stood down as archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh the day after the Observer published accusations by three serving priests and a former priest about his conduct towards them during the 1980s.(Snip) Already due to retire next month, the cardinal stated: "The Holy Father has now decided that my resignation will take effect today."

No place for homosexuals in the priesthood. They are a disaster that has already happened. Root out ever last one.

There is no way that such a number of homosexual pedophiles could infiltrate and get up such a head of steam in the Catholic Church, or any other organization, if the higher ups were not empathic with them, with many of the higher ups having performed the same sexual acts, along with protecting them from discovery, and criminal prosecution. In order to fix this situation several generations of those people will have to be rooted out, one Pope will never be able to get the job done.

So how did this not come out when he was promoted to bishop, archbishop or cardinal?

Glad he demonstrated his obedience & stepped down. Now that he is out, I suspect this is the last we´ll hear of him from the media.

Keep in mind that the Guardian is a Trotskyite rag. Nevertheless, the ´67 decision of Vatican II to lower the standards for elevation to the priesthood has been a calamity of the first magnitude for the Church of Rome.

We have been told over and over again that the Pope has no power when it comes to supervising the Bishops. If true he had little to do with this resignation. And Mahony is still going to vote for the new Pope. Sickening.

Most religious movies feel as if they’re made by a church committee, but every now and then a wild-eyed prophet wanders in and rattles the theater with brimstone. Regardless of your feelings about either movie, Mel Gibson’s “The Passion of the Christ” qualifies and so does Martin Scorsese’s “The Last Temptation of Christ.” Now director Darren Aronofsky (“Black Swan,” “The Wrestler”) has ascended to the mountaintop and returned with the strangest, most visionary cinematic parable yet. “Noah” is equal parts ridiculous and magnificent, a showman’s folly and a madman’s epic. It elaborates on the Book of Genesis’s slender story of Noah

Mexico City — Just before 7 a.m. on Saturday, dozens of soldiers and police officers descended on a condominium tower in Mazatlán, Mexico, a beach resort known as much as a hangout for drug traffickers as for its seafood and surf. The forces were following yet another tip about the whereabouts of one of the world’s most wanted drug kingpins, Joaquín Guzmán Loera — known as El Chapo, which means “Shorty” — who had eluded such raids for 13 years since escaping from prison, by many accounts in a laundry cart. With an army of guards and lethally enforced loyalty, he reigned over a worldwide, multibillion-dollar drug empire

SOCHI, Russia — The official mascots for the Winter Olympics are a polar bear, a hare and a leopard. But walk around the complexes that will stage the Games here, with the opening ceremony Friday, and what seem more apt are a hand drill, a backhoe and a shovel. Much of Sochi is a work in progress, and parts of it look at least a dozen all-nighters away from completion. There are unfinished hotels, half-finished stores and a mall where the only shop that is open and thriving is a Cinnabon. Wander the premises over the course of a day

Justin Bieber’s mansion reportedly was stuffed with drugs and paraphernalia when cops rolled up to serve an egging-related search warrant last week. Two large cookie jars loaded with marijuana sat in plain view of the dozen detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, an unidentified source told TMZ.com. The notorious party palace also contained four or five empty codeine bottles along with empty Fanta bottles, TMZ said. The Fanta bottles appeared to be discolored by the codeine, a sign they were used to mix the narcotic drink Sizzurp, also called “lean.” Luckily for the Biebs, the deputies were raiding the house for surveillance

The team announced Tuesday it has mutually agreed to part ways with Ireland, who had been a controversial figure since being named GM in 2008. (Snip) The Dolphins haven´t been to the playoffs since 2008, finishing 7-9, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9 and 8-8 since. They needed to win one of their final two games to make the postseason this season but lost to the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. That cost offensive coordinator Mike Sherman his job Monday and surely contributed to Ireland's ouster a day later.

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. Some of these methane emissions come from

U.S. President Barack Obama and Pope Francis met Thursday for the first time at Vatican City, offering a chance for a reset of sorts between the administration and Catholic leadership following years of strained relations. The two world leaders greeted each other with a smile and a handshake, and posed for pictures before sitting down across a table from each other. The goal of the meeting: Focus on areas where two of the world´s most influential men agree and gently tread ground where they differ. When Jorge Mario Bergoglio became Pope Francis a little more than a year ago, the first thing that struck those who knew him well was his unexpected, beatific smile. “In Argentina, he didn’t smile like that,” Sergio Rubin, the pope’s biographer, said this week at a conference sponsored by the Ethics and Public Policy Center. “That was the big surprise.” Since then, the pope has mostly kept on smiling — in homilies, in audiences, in meetings with the homeless and the poor. If you look at the pictures from Francis’ meeting with President Obama on Thursday, though, the smile is there only some of the time.

One by one, the myths of the Affordable Care Act have been revealed. When the curtain on open enrollment falls on March 31, the last remaining big myth of ObamaCare will be fully exposed: The individual mandate has failed. After a last-ditch effort with President Obama himself encouraging "young invincibles" to sign up before the deadline, the administration is scrambling to boost enrollment. On Tuesday, the White House announced that people who applied for coverage on the federal health-insurance exchange will have until mid-April to finish the paperwork. She certainly knows how to draw attention to herself. Newby said that’s not all. She also expressed her hatred of Christians in a tweet calling conservative Christians "******bags," claiming they are "really trying" her patience.
