Obama Donor Arranged Michelle
Obama Oscars Appearance

Washington Free Beacon, by Staff

Hollywood producer and Obama fundraiser Harvey Weinstein arranged First Lady Michelle Obama’s Oscars appearance, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The Silver Linings Playbook producer and promoter approached the Academy Awards’ president and Oscar show producers who “loved the idea.” Michelle Obama, who said, “we watch movies all the time at the White House,” also liked the idea. Complicated plans—which one Oscar show producer likened to a CIA mission—were then made for the surprise appearance. Weinstein also hired former Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter to lobby for Silver Linings,

I am sure that everyone on the set of Happy Days also loved the idea of The Fonz jumping the shark as well.

Sounds like an intricate, well planned, multi-faceted undertaking to get Michelle on the program.

And yet, this WH can´t rescue four Americans from Libya with a six hour window.

It’s been a long time since Johnny Carson slept in the tiny upstairs room in the modest little house at 306 S. 13th St. in Norfolk. Carson was born in Iowa and moved to Norfolk with his family in the 1930s. They lived in at least one other house in Norfolk before moving into to the white, wood-frame structure on 13th Street. Built in the 1920s, the house featured a small kitchen, dining room and living room on the main floor, while the second floor contained a bathroom, several bedrooms and an enclosed porch. With concrete walls and floor, the

Buried deep on the website of the U.S. Census Bureau is a number every American citizen, and especially those entrusted with public office, should know. It is 86,429,000. That is the number of Americans who in 2012 got up every morning and went to work — in the private sector — and did it week after week after week. These are the people who built America, and these are the people who can sustain it as a free country. The liberal media has not made them famous like the polar bear, but they are truly a threatened species. It is

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman advised the White House on how President Obama should announce his support for gay marriage. A Harvard classmate of Obama’s, Mehlman told the president over a White House lunch that it was politically viable to reverse his position and support gay marriage, according to a report in The New York Times. Mehlman, who managed George W. Bush’s reelection campaign and came out as gay in 2010, told Obama that the American public viewed him as an idealist willing to put politics aside, and that endorsing same-sex marriage would reinforce that image. American Greetings enlisted the help of Boston-based advertising agency Mullen for its Mother´s Day campaign this year. The company started the project just before Christmas break last year. Josh Romney took a quick potshot at Sen. Harry Reid this week with a Twitter post of his famous father, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, standing in line to pay his taxes. The tweet included the text: “Hey @SenatorReid here’s a shot of @MittRomney paying taxes. Does it every year. It’s how you get your paycheck.” The back story is that Mr. Reid insisted during the last presidential campaign that Mr. Romney was a tax dodger who sent his money to offshore accounts — even when that claim was proven untrue. Mr. Reid’s exact words, as reported by The Hill:

Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu is facing criticism after she reenacted a Senate hearing for a campaign ad -- while also fixing a flub from her original remarks. Landrieu’s ad, titled “Will Not Rest,” appears at first glance to feature footage of the senator passionately arguing for increased oil and gas revenue sharing during a Hill hearing. Landrieu’s campaign described the ad in a press release as highlighting the Louisiana senator´s “efforts to stand up to the administration in order to fight for Louisiana, and protect and strengthen our energy industry that supports 300,000 high-paying jobs.” The ad features various clips of

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz adeptly sidestepped questions about how he´d fare among conservative Republicans in a South Carolina presidential primary. But he did say another Democrat in the White House would spell doom and gloom. "Eight more years of this, I don´t know it´s something this country comes back from," he said.Cruz, widely seen as the conservative face of last year´s government shutdown over funding what Republicans call "Obamacare," spent Tax Day talking to free enterprise advocates at The Citadel. The mayor of Kramatorsk told the Associated Press that Ukrainian troops have now occupied the military airport and are blocking its entrance. The action comes a day after the revelation a Russian fighter jetted buzzed a U.S.S. destroyer multiple times over the Black Sea.

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Casual marijuana use may come with some not-so-casual side effects. For the first time ever, researchers at Northwestern University have analyzed the relationship between casual use of marijuana and brain changes – and found that young adults who used cannabis just once or twice a week showed significant abnormalities in two important brain structures. The study’s findings, to be published Wednesday in the Journal of Neuroscience, are similar to those of past research linking chronic, long-term marijuana use with mental illness and changes in brain development. Dr. Hans Breiter, co-senior study author, said he was inspired to look at the effects of casual
