Chronicle of Liberal Disasters
American Spectator, by Ron Ross

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/25/2013 12:40:56 PM

Although they’re never labeled as such, the San Francisco Chronicle typically has two to three articles each week demonstrating the inherent dysfunctions of liberalism. One recent example was a front page story “No Quick Fix for Life in Projects.” The article chronicles the disheartening experiences of the thousands of residents in the city’s 6,476 units in its 45 public housing projects. “Residents who live in public housing told the Chronicle they constantly deal with violence, units infested with roaches and mice, heating that doesn’t work and major mold and mildew problems.”

Liberals waste of time and money, therefore a waste of life!

There´s a single key concept in that article that liberals will never grasp...

Government housing projects have been utter disasters wherever they have been tried regardless of how much money was spent. It’s about the concept, not the money.

I remember when ´public housing´ was pioneered in NYC in a big way in the 60´s. The several buildings lasted a few years before they were basically condemned and torn down. One of the ´noted´ issues was that several elevators jammed constantly - by virtue of ´compacting´ the rubbish people couldn´t be bothered to dispose of properly, and simply tossed down elevator shafts...

We have essentially *solidified* a huge segment of the nation that is cradle-to-grave ´welfare recipient´ - rather than self-sufficient human being.

Sure there are people who could use a leg up, but as designed by government - the leg is removed from a free-standing entity in order to facilitate the collapse of both.

Ain´t government grand?

Article pins the runaway costs on union labor MANDATED for these housing projects.

So let me see if I got this right:

1. Dems create the projects and housing authorities.
2. Dems fill up the projects with faithful Dem voters.
3. Dems staff the housing authorities with drones who are basically union shills.
4. Dems create a mandated system of using ONLY union labor to fix the projects.
5. Unions kick back huge $$$ in way of campaign donations to Dems.

Sounds like this is a Dem problem.

....and conservatives have been offering real workable solutions for decades only to be mocked while the left uses minorities like cheap whores.
We have lost and all we can do it seems is continue to watch and say "I told ya so" until things unravel completely.

1. Could there be a disconnect between reality and what the Left "knows"? [Guess which the Left bases its policies on and implements when in power?]

"You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality."
~~ Ayn Rand

2. The tragedy is that a few simple choices [like being productive; honest; self-sufficient] can get anyone out of these "projects." One need not have the highest of skills and intelligence to live in reasonably decent conditions in the US.

Sydney Leathers was a girlfriend for hire and any old creep with a thousand bucks to spare could have had the pleasure of her companionship, such as it was. The news that Anthony Weiner’s former sexting partner sold her services via so-called “sugar daddy” Internet sites was not exactly shocking to anyone who has paid attention to the mores and manners of American youth in the past couple of decades. Popular culture has been so corrupt for so long that many young people are incapable of making any distinction between vice and virtue, categories that sophisticated people are expected to reject

Edwin Alemany is a career criminal and he had an EBT card. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The Mass. Republican Party got it right in a tweet yesterday. Not everyone with an EBT card is a criminal, but it appears that every criminal has an EBT card. Of course Gov. Deval Patrick would dismiss this as just another “anecdote.” Please don’t ask why the state is supporting a guy who has 10 convictions at age 28, not to mention 52 citations on his CORI record. His welfare records are sealed, you understand. Alemany has his rights,

Chris Christie and Rand Paul are in the midst of a food fight. Not literally, but very much figuratively. Their debate has devolved from one about warrantless federal surveillance programs to the question of which state, New Jersey or Kentucky, receives more “pork.” You can read some of the lowlights here. For the record, I’m with Christie on the original issue — warrantless federal surveillance programs — and agnostic on the question of who is the bigger porker. Both Christie and Paul probably would like to be president. Indeed, their food fight appears to represent the preliminary round

Anthony Weiner had a good life: a congressman who was a possible heir to the Chuck Schumer throne and married to the adoptive daughter of the Clintons. He had a personal net worth of nearly a million dollars, millions more in campaign donations, and a future written in political fantasies. So why wasn’t this enough? Everyone knows an Anthony Weiner. They don’t all run for political office or live their lives in the public eye. But they do have a good life that they are hell-bent on destroying. The disease of discontent is rampant in America,

The nation´s leading climate change advocate, former Vice President Al Gore, is creating a mini army of "climate leaders" to push governments and companies around the world to adopt policies aimed at reducing global warming. On Wednesday in Chicago Gore will host his second "climate reality leadership corps training" this year where his Climate Reality Project will show supporters how to talk about the issue and push for solutions to carbon burning. Just last month, he held a similar event in Istanbul where one attendee said she was "moved to tears" when Gore spoke about global warming.

The news that NBC is planning to film a miniseries on the life of Hillary Clinton may be interpreted in some quarters as just another lollipop being thrown by the network at its Democratic crush. The movie will star actress Diane Lane as the former first lady, senator, and secretary of state and will cover her life from the 1998 Monica Lewinsky scandal up until the present day. Though we are told the work would include “aspects that were both critical of Mrs. Clinton and supportive of her,” it’s not likely the network with a cable news outlet

Late last week, San Diego Bob Filner let everyone know that he was headed to therapy after seven women accused him of sexual harassment, hoping that a two-week stint getting help would let him keep his office. And now, it looks like the mayor wants the city of San Diego to pitch in, too, by paying his legal fees in a sexual harassment lawsuit. That lawsuit was filed by attorney Gloria Allred on behalf of Filner´s former press secretary, Irene McCormack Jackson. The request for the city to pay for Filner´s defense, filed by attorney Harvey Berger, will go

Delay Is Better than Defund

There has been a fair amount of discussion in recent days about whether Republicans should try to defund Obamacare. The instinct to do something about Obamacare is right. But Republicans can learn something from the American people. As polls have consistently shown, Americans like the idea of delaying—and of repealing—Obamacare. But they don’t like the sound of defunding it. In terms of policy, either approach would produce essentially the same result. (Whether the Obamacare exchanges are delayed for a year, or its exchange subsidies are defunded for a year, the result would be no taxpayer-funded Obamacare exchanges next year.)

CAIRO - Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas laid out his vision on Monday for the final status of Israeli-Palestinian relations ahead of peace talks due to resume in Washington for the first time in nearly three years. Abbas said that no Israeli settlers or border forces could remain in a future Palestinian state and that Palestinians deem illegal all Jewish settlement building within the land occupied in the 1967 Six Days War. The forceful statements appeared to challenge mediator US Secretary of State John Kerry´s hopes that the terms of the talks,

In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,

Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.
