| Republicans supporting a massive legalization program as part of immigration “reform” must have blinders on. They must not see the perverted way the Obama administration simply refuses to enforce existing immigration laws — damning any promised “get tough” enforcement policy included in any immigration deal. The Republican advocates of immigration reform argue that America should secure the border, legalize at least 11 million illegal immigrants, and vigorously enforce the immigration laws in the future. This goal — to start over while at the same time preventing future illegal immigration once and for all — has great appeal.

Yes. No illegal immigrant should get citizenship including the right to vote. Give them a green card so they can work and that´s it. If they want to become a US citizen they should go home and apply like anyone else. But the Republicans will go alone with the Dems and all the illegals and all their extended family in Mexico will also be eligible. We will end up like Venezuela a one party country when all the illegals become Democrats. But the Republicans want to go along so they will be liked by the msm.

Illegal aliens should be barred from US citizenship and US voting rights until after they qualify for an immigrant visa just like all legal immigrants are required to do.
To do that all the Congress has to do is grant longtime illegal aliens without criminal records a conditional or probationary immigration status that allows them to live, work, and travel internationally, for an indefinite period as long as they obey US law.
Any former illegal aliens in that status who sometime in the future wish to become a permanent resident (a green card holder) would then have to individually qualify for an immigrant visa before he or she could be granted permanent resident status.
President Vicente Fox of Mexico, back during the G.W. Bush era, always used to say that the millions of Mexicans who were living and working in the USA are proud of being Mexicans and just want to be able to live here legally, to be able to work with dignity, and to be able to travel back and forth to Mexico. Such a conditional or probationary immigration status as outlined above would meet all those Mexicans needs and would be welcomed by them. There certainly is no need for the Republicans to help make them US citizens en-mass through a special path to citizenship amnesty so that they can vote for the liberal Democrats.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell´s campaign has contacted the FBI after a recording of a private strategy meeting was published Tuesday in a liberal publication, claiming the campaign was the victim of "Watergate-style tactics" to bug the office. Several snippets of the audio from the February strategy sessions were published Tuesday by Mother Jones magazine, along with a lengthy article. The recording, obtained from an unnamed source, included McConnell aides discussing ways to politically damage actress Ashley Judd, who at the time was talked about as a possible McConnell challenger.
