Ugly Tone Emerges in Drive by
Obama for Tax Hikes on Rich

New York Sun, by Ira Stoll

Original Article

With a March 1 deadline looming for the imposition of the automatic spending cuts known as the sequester, President Obama and his allies in the press are stepping up their campaign for additional tax increases on the rich. Mr. Obama said over the weekend that his plan “asks more of the wealthiest Americans,” and he said it looks like Republicans are “prepared to inflict more pain on the middle class because they refuse to ask anything more of those at the very top.”

The sixth reason is that any additional taxes raised will be spent and not used as promised by the Democrats to "reduce the deficit". What a joke. Both parties are addicted to spending which will continue out of control until we go over the fiscal cliff which I believe we already have.

There must be something wrong with the brains of those who are obsessed with taking someone else´s property away from them to use for private, personal goals. I am not at all sure this is a normal aspiration, not when it occupies the thoughts and plans of a person like Barack Obama. Far from being rich myself, I cannot imagine plotting and scheming and working all my life to take money away from people I do not know in order to toss it into the maw of the Federal government. What gives with people who devote themselves to such a task? What are their real motives? Don´t they have something better to do with their time?

Beats me, I can´t figure it out. Malicious envy and delusions of grandeur are as close as I can come to a theory of why Leftists have such itchy fingers and cannot seem to rest unless they are picking the pockets of people they think have too much money. I don´t buy the "we are just trying to help" and "it is all about fairness" raps. I am surprised anyone does. Whatever is going on, disinterested, pure, altruistic devotion to noble ideals is certainly not the whole or even a major part of the story There is something really, really nasty in these malicious attacks upon private property.

Unfortunately - #4 - we have the last century as a tombstone-testimony to the tendency of liberals wanting to ´redistribute the wealth´, which normally translates out to ´make everyone equally destitute´.

When Obama starts waxing poetic about the atrocity of women having 8 kids on welfare bucks - maybe mainstream America will listen without flipping him off.

Maybe if we´re even luckier - he´ll not spend his last years in office flipping *us* off...but don´t hold your breath. If you´re white and work - you owe him. (void where the name ´Kerry´ - richest politician in DC - is invoked...).

If the motives of the left were good, pure and honest, those same traits would shine through in their own lives and speech and personal habits.

But they never miss a chance to lie and dodge and scold those who inquire and proclaim evil motives for those who dare to ask questions.

The success rate of their ´programs´ is dismal yet fabulously expensive.

The money disappears every time.

The poor stay poor.

The pols get rich.

And yet.... Libertarians and Capitalists are the BAD GUYS ?

In the fall of 2010, the nasty midterms drawing to a close, Michelle Obama was contemplating her next move. Two years into her tenure as first lady, the breathless fixation on guest lists and china selections was subsiding into routine, and she wanted a plan for the rest of her husband’s time in office. Of course, her calendar would never lack for National Hostess duties—the obligatory social functions outlined in binders left by Laura Bush’s team. ALBANY — New York, whose status as the most populous state has long been ceded, will soon fall behind Florida into fourth place, a long-anticipated drop that is rife with symbolism and that could carry potentially serious economic consequences in coming years. When the Census Bureau releases its latest population estimates on Monday, demographers expect that Florida and New York will be narrowly separated — perhaps by as little as a few thousand people — and that if Florida does not pass New York this time, it almost certainly will do so in 2014. The census figures underscore immigration trends, as foreign-born migrants continue to

A caveat right off the bat: RAND’s estimate only runs through March 28 whereas the actual deadline for signing up was March 31st. Given the crush of traffic on Healthcare.gov in late March, many more people could have signed up over those last three days than were captured by these numbers. On the other hand, the White House was claiming six million sign-ups as of March 27. There’s no way to reconcile that with RAND’s data. One of them is wrong. Maybe both, in fact. How does the Republican Party establishment choose its presidential candidate? Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts. This hypothesis is that America has reached a stage of progressive soft despotism in which the only important family feud in national politics is between the fundamentally

My first published column was in a local paper opposing the Equal Rights Amendment for the same reasons that Phyllis Schlafly, a conservative lawyer, campaigned on. As ambiguously written, the ERA, would eliminate the men-only draft requirement, repeal protective laws like sexual assault and eliminate the tendency for mothers to obtain custody over their children in divorce cases. Ironically, one of the arguments that helped sink the amendment from ratification was the fear that single-sex bathrooms would no longer be permitted. In addition, opponents of the amendment also warned that it would lead to abortion on demand and same-sex marriages.
