And nobody could have expected how much good work this helpless baby would do in 14 months. John Paul Kilner was born with an advanced case of spinal muscular atrophy. Nearly paralyzed at birth, his body deteriorated further as he grew. (Snip) Daily saving the life of an immobile kid with a fatal disease raises some fundamental questions. I had a cousin who dealt with a similar condition that afflicted his child. The boy had no muscular control & was not expected to live but a few years. He surprised everyone & lived into his thirties. In that time, I saw another member of that family (a SIL) who was not related by blood to the boy, but she was quite fond of him & volunteered often to help take care of him. I watched her devotion to the boy & gained a new respect for her & her selflessness. God shows us examples of those who feel their duty to another & teaches us in unexpected ways.

So sweet and touching. But as stated in article...Tribulation both REVEALS and FORMS charactor. Interestingly, the lib ideology seeks to eliminate all forms of tribulation. What is failure? What is success? What is gain? What is loss?
Whose "legacy" will count 2 years after their death? 20 years? 2,000 years?
A doomed baby boy, compassion-recipient and compassion-generator. A frail infant, a force-multiplier. A strengthless child, the nucleus of a caring community. John Paul, age one, was both the question and the question´s answer.
He left this earth in 422 days. Dear God! What can I do in the next 422 days that would be as good as that?

It’s the easiest thing in the world to be a pessimist, and the least American. We’re optimists, and as tough as things are, as many skirmishes as we’ve lost, we haven’t lost this country to the left quite yet. If you had to choose between being them or us, you’d be crazy to choose being them. We’re going to win, and America is going to rise again. Pessimism is a cop-out, an excuse to do nothing and wait for the end instead of figuratively fixing bayonets and charging head-long into the enemy.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise.
