I think this is much ado about nothing. For either a republican or tea partier to win the primary,they´re going to have to run on the same platform. I mean is one of Rove´s guys going to come out in favor of gay marriage or climate change? I doubt it,they´d be ran out of town.

I guess how far back you take this "struggle" depends on your political age. Regardless, it is like the Civil War: the disputes have been suppressed from time to time, but are yet to be finally settled. I wish the TP leaders success in recapturing control of the GOP, but am not optimistic. There are too many wealthy donors and entrenched powerful interests supporting the status quo. Time for us "useful idiots", as they think of us, to form a new party that we can control.

The Republican Party has been disappointing me for many elections now. Dole, McCain, now Romney. I just can´t do it any more. I won´t do it any more. "The Architect" has got to envision a future where we can win, lay out a master plan and build it into reality. Just like an Architect of a real building does. Bull on this New World Order crappola. The Tower of Babel was tried already and didn´t quite work. I want $2 a gallon gas, an SUV, my gun, my Super Size Big Gulp, Bible, and incandescent light bulbs for starters.

The GOP leadership is loaded with RINO progressives like McCain. The OFA is actively disqualifying local TPers or other conservative potential candidates on the local level, with the intent of running their own RINO´s in their places. I´ve read of 4 that dropped out so far.

The DNC is no longer liberal... just lefty progressives & the GOP has become righty progressives.

Wth +50% of the population conservative or moderate, we should be able to start a real Patriot Party. Unfortunately, since the OFA is voting for us off the SS database, it doesn´t matter unless we get major election reform.

"Much ado about nothing", when it comes to Conservatives getting fed up with the GOP and it´s lockstep march to the left, you wish it was much ado about nothing. That is, a lot are recognizing the sinking ship of fools, and are abandoning that worthless scow.

This last weekend a quiet battle was fought for control of the GOP in Michigan at the GOP Convention. I was a delegate there. I say quiet as I haven´t seen any national coverage.

A strong TEA Party team of Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat ran against the establishment and the pick of Governor Snyder. Despite being out spent by at least 5 to 1, Todd and Cindy lost by only 32 votes. They have rattled the establishment. Cindy told me that in a meeting with the Lt. Governor after the election that the TEA Party will be listened to now. We will see.

So when you hear that the TEA Party or Conservatism is dead, it ain´t here in Michigan!

I was also at the Michigan Repub Convention. From my vantage point, the process for State Party Chair seemed to have been carried out at an adult level. I voted for Todd when he ran for State Edu. Board. This time, my concern (and vote to retain schostak) was based on what I´ll call ´logistics´. I have watched Oakland County GOP change when the Religious Right took over and donations droppped, the HQ in B-ham was relinguished. In my precinct, there are professionals who are not of the RelRght and get nervous about the Jesus-specific language. My suggestion is to talk solutions to problems and only work on the 2-3 top (economic/fiscal)issues, avoid those that do not need to be fought.
