SHOCK REPORT — Veterans Receive
Letters From VA Prohibiting
Ownership or Purchase of Firearms

Gateway Pundit, by Jim Hoft

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/22/2013 5:34:05 PM

This must be Barack Obama’s way of thanking our veterans for serving. US veterans are receiving letters from the government informing them that they are disabled and not allowed to own, purchase or possess a firearm. If the veteran does decide to purchase a firearm he will by fined, imprisoned or both. This comes on page 2 of the VA letter. (Snip for graphic)Constitutional Attorney Michael Connelly, J.D. reported this at Red Flag News. How would you feel if you received a letter from the U.S. Government informing you that because of a physical or mental condition

This is a very large segment of society that has proven both their valor and a willingness to take up arms and fight for their country.
I wonder why this admin. would want these people disarmed ?

I think it is pretty obvious why the administration wouldn´t want Vets to have guns. They know how to shoot them. LOL.

If this report is true, the Vets will just sue and win. If this letter only went out to some truly demented individual, nothing much will come of it. If a Vet is diagnosed schizoid and paranoic, I don´t want him having a gun either. I have been on the barrel end of such a gun in the hands of a Viet Nam vet. It´s a really funny feeling when you hear the click of the pulled trigger......concentrates the mind. LOL

I can just imagine Alabama Senator Shelby getting on the phone to Graham and McCain and those who demanded the Hagel nomination be withdrawn to inquire whether they will summons the husband of the default candidate for Defense, Michelle Flournoy, to a hearing to explain what the h--- he was thinking in formulating this policy. He happens to be Dpty Secretary of VA and is responsible for policy and care of all returning vets, W. Scott Gould. Ole Shelby will probably ask if they want to go with the DoD nominee they know, or allow policy for enlisted personnel and vets to be conducted out of one household...

Gotta go polish my tinfoil hat...

Our veterans are our sacred trust, sick, disabled or not. Don´t mess with them VA, or you will be messing with the rest of us who were lucky enough to come back whole.

FTA "If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both pursuant to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act..."
So, they´re too incompetent to own/handle/carry a firearm and/or ammunition, but they are competent enough to be fined and sent to prison. Wouldn´t whomever the government has placed in charge of these "imcompetents" be the one fined and/or sent to prison?

This is a case that demonstrates how invaluable the Lucianne site is...the letter sent out is consistent with existing, but wrongheaded, VA policy and an attempt by Sen Coburn to correct it months ago was blocked by McCain and others and discussed on this site in the thread below...the Washington Times report it conveys contains the following shocking statement pertaining to about 100,000 vets:

The Department of Veterans Affairs forwards the names of those labeled mentally incompetent to the FBI for inclusion in a national federal database, barring them from purchasing or carrying firearms.

The troll can´t understand what they read. This is the VA arbitrarily determining incompetence. They did this to a senior relative, WW-II vet, because his doctor had been told he sometimes forgot things at age 85. As soon as the VA saw that on the report for an otherwise healthy senior, they claimed he was incompetent to handle his financial affairs - which was bogus since his son was helping him anyway - but they made the bogus determination and as a lawyer told us - they don´t care what you or other doctors say.
I kinda think all libtards (determined by their political affiliation) should immediately be declared incompetent and not able to hold office or work for the government in any capacity, nor vote.

This past Wednesday, I went to the VA Hospital in Louisville, KY. I was surprised to see signs everywhere stating that guns and ammo are NOT permitted anywhere on the property.

I could agree not to take any weapon inside the hospital, but disagree with it being on the property. If a person normally carries a licensed gun in his vehicle and drives 100 miles to the hospital, he certainly is not going to dispose of it just to park on the VA property.

Sometimes you have to wonder about the IQ level of those running the VA.

Also, did you know that a person who goes in the military and gets honorably discharged gets far more benefits out of the VA than a man who spent 25 years in the military and retired? Who wrote that stupid rule? The whining excuse is "You make too much money". Wow I never knew we retirees at half pay were rich.

#29- I try to both expose and educate these seminar posters sent in here by OFA. This particular poster ´jumps in´ when its masters tell it that the topic is an attempt to restrict our rights under the second ammendment. My brother recently had a thorough psychiatric evaluation to apply for increased VA benefits as a result of exposure to Agent Orange as well as PTSD. The shrink advised that he thought he could help him with this but warned that he may run the risk of not being able to own a gun. An avid hunter and staunch believer in the right to defend himself and his country now has to decide whether to take the money and risk obtaining a concealed weapon the same way they do in the community that Obama organized. I wonder if he thought about this when he braved the explosive tripwires in the tunnels trying to defeat the VC?

It’s no secret that Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) don’t like one another. They battle regularly over legislation and their Senate floor fights over arcane-but-important rules have become must-see entertainment for senatorial insiders. According to aides in both parties, the two leaders have not had a one-on-one sitdown to discuss legislation (or anything else) since late last year. Nowadays, all business is conducted on the phone or in brief discussions on the Senate floor. Part of that feud is political – Democrats targeted McConnell in 2008, Republicans targeted Reid in 2010, Democrats

It was a powerful indictment and perhaps one worth building on. Mr. Stephens highlighted what he believes would be some of the obstacles facing Senator Paul, beginning with his long political association with Jack Hunter, alias the “Southern Avenger,” who among other things wrote an April 13, 2004 column titled “John Wilkes Booth Was Right.” The “Southern Avenger” said this: Although Lincoln’s assassin, John Wilkes Booth’s heart was in the right place, the Southern Avenger

At any one time hundreds of thousands of us are cocooned in pressurised cabins scything through the cold upper reaches of the troposphere. Soon enough, this figure will rise to a million: a million passengers, flown safely, if not always comfortably, across countries and continents, and with little call for comment. Before engines could lift heavier-than-air machines convincingly off the ground, any attempt at flight had been dangerous, and yet for hundreds of years, adventurers strapped wings to their arms, and leapt off hilltops and towers in the vain hope of flying. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. With Easter soon approaching, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Wednesday drew parallels between the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of President Obama’s political career. Joining the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” Mr. Sharpton said that his message for this Easter is that “no matter what the world may do to you unfairly, no matter how you’re crucified — nailed to the cross at home, or in your personal relationships, or on the job — that you can rise if you don’t lose yourself during the hard times and the challenges.” The reverend went on to say that Christ endured so much humiliation and unearned suffering leading up to his death,

Fish are losing their survival instinct as the world´s oceans become more acidic because of climate change, researchers have claimed. The study confirms laboratory experiments showing that the behavior of reef fishes can be seriously affected by increased carbon dioxide concentrations in the ocean. Carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere is absorbed into ocean waters, where it dissolves and lowers the pH of the water. The new study is the first to analyze the sensory impairment of fish from CO2 seeps, where pH is similar to what climate models forecast for surface waters by the turn of the century. ´These results verify our laboratory
