Crowd Goes Wild As Assault
Weapons Ban Plan Is Pulled
At Westford, Mass. Town Meeting

In an utterly unsurprising development this week, a town meeting in Westford, Massachusetts debated whether or not to ban so-called "assault weapons." However, in a rather surprising development, the ban was not only withdrawn, but it was withdrawn to the cheering of hundreds of residents. CBS Boston even described the applause as "thunderous" It´s incredible to see hundreds of Americans stand up for their rights in one of the most liberal anti-gun enclaves in the country.

Notice how ALL of the "news" folks are now obediantly using the term "gun safety" rather than "gun control"? No, there is no group think or coordination of news stories, especially at the direction of the regime, right? /sarc

It´s "civlian disarmament."

This is the beauty of the New England town meeting: Communities get to decide what they, as a community, want. Probably few of those people own assault weapons, or want one. But they understand infringement of rights.

Oh...and Westford voted to re-elect Scott Brown.

Ah, the difference from one town to the next. Suburban Lowell is a prime example of this. Westford has a mind of its own. Chelmsford would lockstep with leftie gun grab. Dracula never. Billerica has been over run as late. All have the closeness to NH border that separates them from loonies down by Boston. Live Free or Die! Right on Westford - love ya!

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) used President Obama’s own words as a U.S. senator to excoriate him for threatening to veto the ENFORCE the Law Act, which would provide a streamlined system for a house of Congress to the sue the Executive Branch for failing to enforce laws passed by Congress. “How does going from being a senator to a president rewrite the Constitution?” Gowdy asked. Telling House members that he was going to give them a “pop quiz,” Gowdy added, “That may seem unfair to my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, but I’m going to give them a hint:

The Pew Research Center’s latest estimate of the number of illegal aliens residing in the United States—11.7 million as of March 2012--was less than the approximately 12.5 million people whom the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated were unemployed in the United States in the average month of 2012. However, it exceeds the approximately 11.46 million people whom BLS says were unemployed in the average month of 2013. Pew released its latest report on the “unauthorized immigrant” population on Sept. 23, 2013. Headlined “Population Decline of Unauthorized Immigrants Stalls, May Have Reversed,” it estimated that the illegal alien

A tire violently blew out amid a US Airways flight´s takeoff sending 149 passengers frantically crawling out the emergency side doors. Amid the chaos, it was a lone female passenger who valiantly posed for a selfie. "So my plane just crashed ... I almost died," @han_horan Tweeted at 6:35 p.m. Thursday. "So yup," she added with her face angled before the wrecked plane and emergency crews. Alex Sink, who was the model for the Democratic congressional candidate of 2014, lost what was supposed to be a slam-dunk victory Tuesday in Florida. She got the slam, but not the dunk, and departs the arena leaving a valuable lesson for her party. The Democrats spent lavishly in the district, which includes St. Petersburg and hugs the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, confident that voters who twice gave majorities to President Obama would respond eagerly to a candidate much like him. There was plenty of money to spread the message. She spent $5.4 million on the race, nearly $1 million

Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease. Boys need lessons in basic ethics and moral reasoning

Enough already with the Hitler talk. War drums and loose lips are giving the old Austrian paperhanger a bad name. Der fuehrer has held the franchise as “most evil figure in history,” and now excitable politicians and pundits of little imagination are trying to take the title away by putting him in league with mere pikers. Hitler remains unique in his evil. Police are investigating the possibility that the pilot of missing Flight MH370 hijacked his own aircraft in a bizarre political protest. The Mail on Sunday has learned that Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was an ‘obsessive’ supporter of Malaysia’s opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim. And hours before the doomed flight left Kuala Lumpur it is understood 53-year-old Shah attended a controversial trial in which Ibrahim was jailed for five years. Campaigners say the politician, the key challenger to Malaysia’s ruling party, was the victim of a long-running smear campaign and had faced trumped-up charges. Police sources have confirmed that Shah was a vocal political activist

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats. It’s a district Ms. Sink carried in her unsuccessful race for governor against Rick Scott, a district that Barack Obama carried in his two elections, and a district that demographically now favors Democrats. In addition, Ms. Sink raised more money and ran a better campaign than Jolly. Even Bill Clinton lent his efforts to her campaign. And yet she lost. What should particularly alarm Democrats is

One of our planes is missing. That’s basically all we know for certain right now, but more than a week after losing contact with flight MH370, there are a lot of other suggestive bits of information. Unfortunately, a lot of it is, as usual, being reported by news readers who barely understand that you don’t want to keep the pointy end aimed at the ground for an extended time. Here’s some things we do know now. The first indication of trouble was when the transponder stopped responding to radar. This is the point where newspeople are saying it “dropped off the radar,”
