A year later, Trayvon Martin
case murkier than ever

Chicago Tribune, by Eric Zorn

Original Article

The simple story — cops yawn when burly white vigilante stalks and kills unarmed African-American child for the "crime" of walking while black — shocked the conscience of much of the nation a year ago and touched off an explosion of indignant demagoguery. Trayvon Martin, 17, was walking through a Sanford, Fla., subdivision early on the evening of Feb. 26, 2012, headed from a convenience store to the home where he was staying with his father. Off-duty neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman, 28, was driving to the grocery store when he saw Martin and called police to report that

Murky? Nah, never was murky. Zimmerman was attacked by a youth that was stronger than he was, an aggressor who went for Zimmerman´s gun, and Zimmerman shot him.

The real story is that this is off the front pages because the story already served its purpose--polarize races and get more minority and other voters for Obama.

Once the focus shifted on the elections and now Obama is back in office, the media could care less about this non-story.

Burly? White? Zimmerman is 5´9 and only has white as the first black president. This article reads like a clarion call for race rioting.

When you thought the cheap, brainless, race-baiting media couldn´t get much lower, the term "White Hispanic" was introduced to remind you that there is no bottom to the abyss of idiocy.

I´m gathering names on a petition to Congress - -

- - to declare February 26 to be St. Trayvon Day - - and a national holiday.

This will provide a poignant and emotional climax to Black History Month - - an initiative all guilt-ridden leftists should eagerly subscribe to.

Good idea #4. Who couldn´t use another paid holiday?

#2 is correct. Zimmerman was a slight Hispanic man who was attacked so viciously he had a severely broken nose. The media even doctored pictures to conceal that fact. Unfortunately Mr. Zimmerman will be convicted I fear. Not because he is guilty but r because of some perceived racist murder against a poor innocent child...

The intro tells us that Zorn´s knowledge of the case is very murky - and somewhat distorted. Any of us who read the same things he says he did (sure, he did) could write a more accurate account of the facts of what happened.

He does say that he never believed Zimmerman. Yet there was much to support Zimmerman´s account.

Zorn´s mind snapped shut a long time ago. Nothing, no one, will disturb it now.

Not worth the time to read.

Can you imagine being the forlorn prosecutor having to bring this absurdity into the court in front of a jury. If they manage to select a fair jury, this thing will be a disaster of an embarrassment for both the media and the so-called "Justice system" that has been co-opted by the hysterical media and black racist mobs. I expect at least two cities to be burned to the ground over the outcome.

I think I may be the only one who read the article. The author is no Zimmerman apologist but the first paragraph is meant to show the dominant media narrative, which he then mostly knocks down by referring to forensic evidence. He doesn´t set up a St. Trayvon, he says that the evidence mostly supports the fact that George Zimmerman was on his back, getting the snot beaten out of him when he fired the gun.

Let´s end this nonsense. There is no way a prosecutor could produce enough evidence to get a convction that would stand up on appeal.

I read the article but must admit that my (erroneous) contention that Zorn thought Zimmerman was guilty from the start was wrong. I had read down into the comment part of Zorn´s blog.

However, I still contend that Zorn´s own knowledge of the case is very murky. I base that opinion on what he writes in his opening paragraph. The cops did not yawn.

The book sounds interesting but the investigation done at theconservativetreehouse.com over months and months of media misinformation may be more accurate.

Also, little boy Eric, you must be so upset to learn that your sh**-hole of a city, Chicago, is listed today in the top ten WORST cities to live in. May I suggest that you camp out on the South Side this weekend? From what I have read there is reasonable doubt. And I think "reasonable" is the correct test.

Maybe the prosecution will reveal some new and convincing evidence of guilt.. But I am suspicous of convenient miracles and doubly suspicious of those which arrive late.

WASHINGTON- Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says he wants U.S. military law changed so senior commanders can´t overturn courts-martial verdicts in major crimes such as rape. Hagel said the Pentagon´s top lawyers would prepare legislation for Congress that would strip commanders´ power to toss out convictions, "except for certain minor offenses that would not ordinarily warrant trial by court-martial." Convicted defendants still would be able to appeal their cases. But in a move berated by advocacy groups for military sexual-assault victims, Hagel also said he would recommend commanders retain the power to alter courts-martial sentences,

If presidential politics ever involved time travel, President Obama might be in a little trouble. If an election between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama were held today, 58% would vote for Reagan over Obama, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans age 18 and older conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. Though when the field is narrowed to people ages 18-34 -- those either too young to have known Reagan as president or too young to remember much -- the gap shrinks to 51% in favor of Reagan.

We´ve got full background here, but the toplines are this: Corn got hold of a conversation apparently recorded during a presentation by consultants to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell´s reelection campaign. The consultants were opposition researchers, hired by the campaign to ferret out damaging information about actress Ashley Judd, who at one point considered running against McConnell.
