The typical scammer mayor response in cities is to respond to a budget cut, by closing the things that aggravate people the most. Close the pool, skip every other bus stop randomly, ...you know just anything that you can point to and say the budget cutters caused it. This is sabotage.

I just watched "The Longest Day" & I feel ashamed of the infantilism & PC that is taking over this country. My ex-husband´s father was on that beach at Normandy. I was struck by the scene where the French soldier has to fire at his own German-occuppied homeland. The French citizens were getting shelled in their own homes, but were rejoicing that at last, the Allies were there to liberate them. It occurred to me that I can sit in my pajamas watching old movies in warm, dry, safety because a better generation than mine did the the right thing - fighting & defeating evil. Today, we have US citizens who WANT to see their homeland destroyed. Who comes to liberate us from BO´s evil regime?

We have been here since the beginning. I am not ashamed of my country, but I am ashamed of the ignorant that put that alien in the wh.

Who was it -- Lenin? -- who said the capitalists will sell us the rope we hang them with. Turns out the rope has been purchased with our tax money, bought by our fellow countrymen. Not so much ashamed here, much stronger emotions than that.

When I was in school and learning history, I wondered just how for instance (1) the citizens of National Socialist Germany could elect such a monster, to turn in their family members to the brownshirt thugs, to levy acts of violence and death to scape goat groups, and (2) how in the days leading up to the American Civil War family members became splintered and eventually went to war on opposite sides over the issues of that time.
Given these past 5 years or so, I now have a better understanding of how it could happen. I am not ashamed, I am fearful.
