In an amazing coincidence, I was looking through an old (2007) American Rifleman from the NRA, just last evening, and there was an article about NJ´s growing bear population. Governor Corzine, upon the advice of Lisa Jackson, refused to reauthorize a bear hunt in NJ.
They proposed birth control for the bears.

There has always been an us saving the world versus the evil polluters element to the EPA. What this administration has added is the genuine desire to prevent the private sector from utilizing the nations resources to save our economy and the use of a Community Organizers mindset to organize the effort. The Department of Justice is financing lawsuits by environmentalists against the EPA. The EPA settles by agreeing to regulate mining, drilling, developing, etc. The AGW crowd uses manipulated data to push for reduced carbon. Congress won´t act so you have environmentalist sue the EPA to set mileage standards. And to regulate CO2. Because CO@ isn´t really harmful like SO2 or NOx, you need to get DOJ to rewrite portions of the law. Because the PEOPLE aren´t on board, you need back channel communications to coordinate. Hence the ´safe harbor´ E-mails.

What a shty country we have become.

I heard Lisa Jackson speak at an NEPT (a volutary compliance program silmilar to OSHA´s VPP) conference before she led EPA and before she nuked NEPT (technically it was withdrawn for reconsideration). She was adamant that only government could be trusted and when it came to companies environmental reporting she "knew y´all are lying to us". It was shocking. The fact that statement was not backed by a single shred of evidence did not dissuade her.

That was a statement by a true believer. The kind of belief that makes someone condescending and dismissive. This was a willful abd knowing violation and undermines every open records type act to actually make government transparent. But nothing will happen. They´ll follow the Clinton script and talk it to death then term it old news being dredged up by right wingers and what we should really focus on is the future, yada, yada, yada.

Wonder how many of them do this?
