RINOs need to take back
the Republican Party

Washington Post, by Kathleen Parker

Original Article

Posted By:supersid, 2/20/2013 7:24:06 PM

RINO-hunting, the long-popular political sport that morphed in 2008 into a sort of hysteria-driven obsession, lately has become a suicide mission. RINO, of course, refers to Republicans In Name Only and is the pejorative term used against those who fail to march in lockstep with the so-called conservative base. I used “so-called” because, though the hard-right faction of the party tends to be viewed as The Base, this isn’t necessarily so. My guess is there are now more RINOs than those who, though evangelical in their zeal, are poison to their party’s ability to win national elections.

Comments:
Kathleen Parker calls for the ´unapologetically sane´ republicans to re-assert themselves in a party taken over by the fringe.

Kathleen Parker, I fell in love with your posts years ago. I don´t know what caused you to start down the dark path, accommodating Liberal swine, but you have far traveled that road.

Conservatives do not need to compromise with Liberals in the least. Liberals are empty people in empty suits. It is the Hollywood Media machine we need to defeat. The machine is devoid of emotion. It´s sole purpose is to defeat and destroy Conservatives. Never give in to this evil. Fight it every day.

This really needed saying. Republicans need to appeal to the majority of voters and you won´t do so going around acting like a bunch of rabid dogs.

Now aged 82, I have been a Republican since 1968 and proud of it. It is the party of reason, and we shouldn´t run from that. Reason attracts more adherents than rabid, and can win more elections. We should eschew people with a death wish who want to drag us down with them on some imagined principle, and become a big tent again.

As to those who want to go down with some mythical ship, let them bay at the moon on their own dime.

´´RINOS?´´ ...Actually, a statist is a, ´´statist,´´ regardless of party affiliation, which is why there is hardly any difference between how they vote as elected officials. The current problem in the GOP is that vote for a RINO might as well be a vote for a bonified 1960´s/2013 radical lefty/lib/dem pol as the resulting statist policies are simpatico.

Mark Levin´s best seller, ´´Liberty and Tyranny,´´ explains statism and so is a definitive must read.

Yes, Rino´s do indeed own the Repub party with all the losses they rack up. Rino´w rule is the true object of all Democrats, moderates, and leftwingers. Only one small group and growing smaller is left to bemoan the end of our country´s sovereignty. And, we get blamed for all defeats, no matter how we vote. We vote for Dole, McCain and Romney and yet it is our fault the Repubs are losers. Typical of the mentality of liberals, moderates and Tea Party haters.

A few hours after Margaret Thatcher’s death on Monday, the snarling deadbeats of the British underclass were gleefully rampaging through the streets of Brixton in South London, scaling the marquee of the local fleapit and hanging a banner announcing, “THE B!TCH IS DEAD.” Amazingly, they managed to spell all four words correctly. By Friday, “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead,” from The Wizard of Oz, was the No. 1 download at Amazon U.K. Mrs. Thatcher would have enjoyed all this.

About fiscal prudence, for example. Say what you like about a high-living, big-spending, bloated, decadent parasitical, wastrel monarchy, but, compared to the citizen-executive of a republic of limited government, it´s a bargain. Is there a great tuner in the sky, with a bass control, a treble control, and so on? Does some unseen, all-determining Republican hand twist these knobs? The Republican party is composed of millions of people and hundreds or thousands of politicians. These are all human beings. They could not possibly have the same tone. Charles Murray argues, admittedly impressionistically, that the Republican party’s social conservatism is turning off Asian Americans. Asians who became successful because everyone in the family worked two or three jobs (a common strategy behind Asian success) are likely to be offended by the liberal “You didn’t build that” mentality. Unlike every other minority group, Asians owe nothing to the Democrats for affirmative action. On the contrary, Asians are penalized by affirmative action, especially in the universities, where discrimination against Asian applicants (relative to their superb academic qualifications) has been documented in the technical literature.

With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office.
