| Your federal government is almost certain to blow past the March 1 deadline for averting $1.2 trillion in haphazard budget cuts that could cost 700,000 jobs. Don’t worry. We know whom to blame. President Obama makes a credible case that he has reached farther toward compromise than House Republicans. But knowing who’s at fault doesn’t fix the problem. To loosely quote Billy Joel: You may be right, Mr. President, but this is crazy. Is this fiscal standoff (the fifth since Republicans took control of the House in 2011) just about scoring political points, or is it about governing?

Am I the only one see that nothing is going to happen on Mar 1? They are just going to postpone budget cuts again, just like they did before. They will kick the can down the road one more time and Obama will claim to have saved the country from those terrible Republicans.

There were 20 legislators who voted for what was called the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, known to US as TARP in 2008, that lost their jobs in the midterms of 2010. We know now what a success that idea was in throwing money down a black hole with not real results for the American people. 0bama is still touting the same "shovel-ready jobs," because in his mind, we are a third-world nation with no education to do better with our time. Sounds pretty racist to me.
Can´t wait to see how the numbers show up in the unemployment figures.

Bronco Bama does not govern, he only campaigns. If he ever did settle down o the business of seriously exercising his power to govern as President, he would be held accountable, and that, he cannot afford at any price.
Believe it or not, his performance on the night the four Americans were captured and later killed at Benghazi was probably the closest he ever came to making a decision, which he dropped in the laps of the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of State, both of whom dropped the hot potato.

Two New York Times columnists embarrassed themselves over the weekend, betraying anti-gun ignorance in the paper´s Sunday Review.Frank Bruni went hunting for the first time (with the chef of a ritzy Manhattan restaurant), and remarked "what an unfair fight" hunting is, as if he was the first person to think that up. After lamenting "how thoroughly a weapon can be romanticized and fetishized," he pivoted to easy access to guns in "this country of ours." I could forget, when not aiming at a bird, to keep the gun pointed toward the sky or the ground.

Like most of you, I yearn for shorter winters, more shirt-sleeve weather, less lashing from frigid winds. As a confirmed New Yorker, I’m not willing to do what millions have done: move to the sunbelt. I want warmer weather here in the Big City.But I’ve grown old waiting for the promised global warming. I was 35 when predictions of a looming ice age were supplanted by warmmongering. Now I’m 68, and there’s still no sign of warmer weather.
