Documents: Hagel staffers met with
‘front group’ for Iranian regime

Daily Caller, by Charles C. Johnson

Original Article

Documents obtained by The Daily Caller show that staffers for then-Sen. Chuck Hagel met repeatedly with a controversial pro-Iran lobby group, and some met with the organization’s president. Hagel is President Barack Obama’s choice to be the next secretary of defense. Arizona Sen. John McCain and other Republicans have conceded that a vote — and likely confirmation — will take place during the week of Feb. 25. Iranian state-run media have referred to the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC) since at least 2006 as “Iran’s lobby” in the U.S.

I´m really tired of being so unsettled about what is going on in Washington.

These guys are fools for conceding this nomination. Ath the very least, they should be insisting on more information before commmitting. They lose all leverage when they say, he´ll be confirmed eventually.

At a House Ways and Means Committee hearing last week, Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) asked HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius if she was going to delay the open enrollment period for Obamacare beyond the already-extended deadline of March 31. She answered very plainly, “No sir.” Rep. Brady didn’t ask Sec. Sebelius because he didn’t know the answer. The HHS has already delayed various deadlines multiple times. The question was asked to see if Sec. Sebelius would finally tell the truth. She did not. No one was surprised. African Americans are not signing up for insurance under Covered California at anywhere near their percentage of the population. With this year´s enrollment deadline just around the corner, time to fix the problem is short. African Americans make up about 7 percent of California´s population but just 3 percent of Covered CA enrollees. But the situation is actually worse than that because African Americans make up 17 percent of the state´s uninsured population, the very people Obamacare was supposed to attract. Covered CA has previously been criticized for low enrollment among Latinos. The Latino population makes up about

Former Republican Rep. West’s comments follow the NLRB’s ruling by its regional director in Chicago, which the Associated Press reported will allow football players to create the country’s first college athlete’s union as they now qualify as employees under federal law.

Confusing Obamacare regs define

The administration is confusing and frustrating businesses and lawmakers with new Obamacare regulations that define full-time as working just 30 hours, but sometimes rely on the traditional 40-hour week and even a new and unheard of standard of 35 hours in guidance to employers facing a maze of requirements. Congressional officials and business leaders, for example, cited to Secrets IRS guidance issued in February. That 227-page package, they said, appears to set two standards: 30 hours for hourly workers, and 40 hours for salaried workers even though the law requires employers to offer healthcare to those who work 30 hours or

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) said the fault of struggling to sign up on the Obamacare exchanges didn’t lie with the faulty website, but with the people who weren’t “educated on how to use the Internet.” Explaining the reasoning behind the latest Obamacare delay, Reid said too many people just didn’t know to use their computer properly and needed more time. Apparently, it had nothing to do with the well-documented failings of the website that have embarrassed the White House for months. “We have hundreds of thousands of people who tried to sign up who didn’t get through,” he said.

Okay, THAT was certainly embarrassing. At the end of a joint news conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in the Netherlands on Tuesday, the applause for Barack Obama came from a grand total of one guy. One. After thanking the crowd twice for suffering through his boring, standard worn-out spiel, Obama looked around the room, expecting the usual fanfare and applause he receives from his loyal followers back home. It never came. Instead, the Leader of the Free World was met with one slow, awkward clap. Question: was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in the house?

The Obama administration is prepared to give prospective Obamacare enrollees another half-month to signup for insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act website, healthcare.gov, treating the law´s March 31 regulatory deadline as a formality for Americans who claim they tried in earnest to sign up in time. As the U.S. Supreme Court weighed the constitutionality of a contraception coverage mandate Tuesday morning, a federal appeals court heard a separate legal challenge that could have much more sweeping implications for the future of President Obama´s health care law. And if the oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit are any indication, it’s time for the White House to start sweating over a lawsuit that up until now has flown relatively below the radar. At issue in the case are the subsidies that the federal government provides for individuals purchasing insurance through Obamacare. Though the text

On Tuesday night two things happened. 1. A trio of Secret Service agents were sent home from Amsterdam after one was found passed out drunk in a hotel hallway. 2. But, modern politics is all about narratives and storylines. And, both of these events confirm a growing concern from the public about President Obama: That he´s just not up to governing his administration and, by extension, the country, effectively.
