Being from NJ, we have the highest car insurance in the Country-because it is REQUIRED.
If all the drivers could save the $$ and simply buy insurance AFTER a crash, why wouldn´t they?

It is actually worse than this. The unemployment rate for those young and healthy folks that are to pay their ´fair´ share so the sick and uninsurable can ´receive´ their ´fair´ share will only increase the death spiral. Older workers (they have to work since their retirement has been wiped out by Obambi and his ´recovery´) are taking jobs from the young. The young can´t find work, get the experience they need to improve their earning capabilities and have ´affordable´ insurance because the older work force is taking so many jobs or not retiring. Less young workers hat are healthy and more older workers that have health issues one expects from getting old will increase the cost of insurance. Thus, when a kid is lucky enough to actually find a job, insurance is even more expensive and unaffordable to someone with entry level employment wages. At some point and time, this entire incredibly poorly designed Ponzi scheme will collapse.

This is what happens when the interns with no experience were writing laws and there were no adults in the room! I am just surprised that they did not write in "unicorns for each family to ward off sickness".

I work as a longterm temporary employee. I can read the handwriting on the wall. My pay will be reduced by $2000 so the Temp Agency can pay the government.

I get to pay $2000 because my Agency won´t provide coverage. (Plus the personal penalty.)

Insurance Premiums (annual):
2008 = $7020
2013 = $16584
add in our combined deductible of $4800 and we´re paying over $21,000 - now our single largest expense.
Can´t imagine how high it will climb by 2014!
And here´s an interesting bit: went to a specialist a few months back. Was given the bill on the way out.
"We don´t accept your insurance, so you need to pay in full now."
Lots of different numbers on the bill.
Explanation: "If we took your insurance, we would be charging your insurance company $1175; paying yourself costs $504."

You have to either be very stupid, or a Harvard trained liberal Democrat, to believe that young people in good health are going to flock out to purchase a very expensive health care insurance policy when they can simply wait until they get sick and really need such a policy knowing that the insurance companies can´t legally turn them down.
