| PHOENIX— Arizona took center stage in the national immigration debate Tuesday as Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano toured the state´s border with Mexico and Sen. John McCain defended his proposed immigration overhaul to an angry crowd in suburban Phoenix. The presence of the top officials is the latest sign that Arizona will play a prominent role in the immigration debate as President Barack Obama looks to make it a signature issue of his second term. Napolitano toured the border near Nogales with the highest-ranking official at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the incoming chairman of the Senate´s homeland

There is NO defense of granting these criminals amnesty and the good people of Arizona need to bring Johnny Mack home and put his sorry RINO behind in a rocking chair in Sun City and send a TRUE Conservative back to DC in "his" place.

If the 450,000 illegal aliens said to be sojourning in Arizona had voted in the last election, John McCain would now be retired, and a liberal Democrat would be holding down McCain´s former US Senate seat.

They don´t need busses to deport the illegals. Don´t hire them, stop all health and educational benefits and they will self deport at no cost to the government.
Start enforcing the existing laws!

The Repubs will lose far more votes than they will gain if they give these illegal aliens amnesty.
When are law abiding citizens going to start getting rewarded rather than punished?

If he would simply listen to the voters instead of trying to explain his nuance position, there would be no immigration plan. Buses are cheaper than welfare, food stamps, medicaid, education, and fraudulent tax credits.

How can any of our elected officials defend anyone who breaks the law? Are we now to assume that we can pick and choose those laws we want to obey? Or are the politicians going to decide which laws are negotiate-able? Amnesty is all about getting votes. It certainly is not for the benefit of this country.
My second point is that maybe the illegals here should think about going back to Mexico and fighting for their freedom and rights there just like our ancestors did. Mexico is a beautiful country and the illegals certainly appear to be proud of it. You want given to you what our ancestors fought and died for. Is it no wonder Americans oppose you?
Finally, American businesses who hire illegals should be severely fined. If they continue to do it, jail them. You are taking the livelihood of your fellow Americans and giving it to law breakers. Don´t frequent these businesses.

Hours after the Lockerbie atrocity, Mrs Thatcher was wading through the carnage wrought by terrorists over a small Scottish town, paying her condolences to the bereaved. It had been a long and harrowing day, but when she arrived back in London late that night she still found time to phone me at home. Her voice was anxious, kind. She asked: ‘How is Ray, dear?’ The day before, my husband had suffered a serious accident and Mrs Thatcher had been characteristically solicitous, offering her car to run me home.

White House officials have decided to go ahead with annual garden tours this year despite sequester cuts, an official familiar with the decision tells POLITICO. Tours of the White House itself remained canceled because the cuts have left Secret Service short on manpower to staff them. But there will be enough agents to staff the garden tours, the official said. The tours are slated to happen this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will be able to view the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, Rose Garden and South Lawn of the White House,

Arizona Gov. Janice Brewer has signed a law providing strong new restrictions on the use of so-called "seclusion rooms" in schools – closet-sized rooms where children with behavioral disabilities such as autism were being locked up as punishment. "It is chilling to imagine an Arizona school child being shut away in a padded room, no larger than a closet, for hours on end," Brewer said after signing the law Friday. "There has to be a better way." With the new law, Arizona will join more than 30 other states that impose rules on the restraint of students in public schools.

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Writing in the blog The Review, J.P. Freire performs a devastating examination of how the Associated Press eulogized former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Monday versus how the news service examined the legacy of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez upon his death. What Freire found was an evident sense of admiration for Chavez’s accomplishments as the Latin American state’s autocratic leader, but a distinct lack of respect for Thatcher’s achievements in office. “Love her or loathe her, one thing’s beyond dispute: Margaret Thatcher transformed Britain,” AP opened the former U.K. prime minister’s obituary on Monday.

Is ObamaCare the reform to end all other reforms? The massive health care law´s problems are well known. Major tax hikes and Medicare cuts will fund a massive new government program, rather than shore up the nation´s finances. ObamaCare already is encouraging companies to cut jobs and work hours. With the administration delaying the insurance exchanges that might help small businesses until 2015, even ObamaCare cheerleaders are growing worried. And the law will leave tens of millions of Americans without health coverage. That´s the best-case scenario,

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
