Tiger Woods said Tuesday that his weekend golf outing with President Obama was "pretty cool" and that he and the president teamed up for a win against a pairing of U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk and Houston Astros owner Jim Crane. "He´s just a wonderful person to be around. And we won," Woods said at a press conference ahead of the Match Play Championship, according to Sports Illustrated. Woods also joked that Obama is "an avid golfer, and so am I." The comments by the 14-time major tournament champion were the first window

I used to marvel at Wood´s inability to articulate simple notions well into his twenties. He expresses himself better now but is clearly still an idiot. He´s the king of arrested development.

Now I know this flies in the face of professional golf yakkers who´ve told us for pushing two decades that Eldrick is a great thinker but I´ve learned to take what they say with a grain of salt. Add today´s comments to the evidence.

#13...Unlike Obama’s academic record, we can find reports of Tigers…3.70 grade-point average at Western High School in Anaheim, CA, and two years at Stanford University majoring in Economics while maintaining a 3.0 grade point average. He seems to do his talking by winning. Nick Faldo made news today opining on Woods and McIlrory’s chances for 2013, and did so in a very articulate fashion. Rory responded, Tiger didn’t have to respond. Faldo’s a fine golfer, but match his 98 weeks as golf´s #1 to Tiger´s at over 500, his 9 PGA wins versus Tiger’s 75, his 6 majors against Tiger’s 14, and his 30 European Tour wins against Tiger’s 38, and tell me who is the most articulate in what matters in the profession...winning!

What matters?! He´s a one trick pony, a golfing savant. Digging up gpa´s is meaningless, particularly when one considers what an uninteresting, dull person he´s always been when he opens his mouth.

It´s clear you´re as unwilling to admit his faults as I am to put him on a pedestal for what he´s accomplished. You say his winning is all that matters, I say he´s a terrible person. Looking forward to disagreeing again, Woods isn´t disappearing anytime soon.

The gpa was cited in direct response to the claim that Tiger is an idiot, given he barely tolerates the simplistic questions put to him by sports writers, many of whom have never excelled in any sport. Tiger is a phenom because he is the best at his profession, and not because he´s a great orator, role model, husband, etc. I´ll be glad when he gets back into his rythm of winning 1 of every 3 tourneys he enters while setting new golfing records.

I can think of a lot of other billionaires and successful people who dropped out or didn´t do well in college and went on to become dominant figures their fields (IT, finance, campaign management), with many of them lacking the so-called normal people or communications skills...

“What a difference a day makes — 24 little hours.” Those lyrics about romance and spring flowers also fit the bill last week for congressional politics and the 2014 midterm elections. Last Tuesday, the White House hit the 7 million-plus mark for enrolling people in the insurance exchanges set up through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). It was an incredible achievement after the administration wasted two months, a third of the enrollment period, stumbling over a broken website. Public opinion polls last week showed an immediate jump in support for the ACA. President Obama’s approval ratings, which had been at their

Ever the happy warrior of the left, Sen. Chuck Schumer is not giving up on his pipe dream: amnesty for illegal aliens in 2014. He called it the “vote-no, pray-yes caucus,” meaning that certain Republicans would publicly claim they are against amnesty, vote against it in the end, but behind the scenes either fight for its passage

Attorney General Eric Holder maintained Tuesday that he has a “vast amount” of discretion in how the Justice Department prosecutes federal law. Holder’s remarks, during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, came in response to GOP accusations that he is flouting the law with his department’s positions on marijuana legalization, criminal sentencing and a contentious provision of the president’s signature healthcare law. Leading the questioning was House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), who asked Holder whether he believed there were any limits to the administration’s prosecutorial discretion. “There is a vast amount of discretion that a president has —

Prosecutors had accused the men of holding “deviant parties” and dressing in women’s clothes. Three were sentenced to eight years and the fourth to three years in prison. Prosecutors have used a law banning “debauchery” to try homosexuals in the past. Those accused of homosexuality are often forced to undergo medical tests to establish they are “habitual” gays, a practice rights groups have decried as abusive. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican.
