‘This is big government’: 500

and lionized by White House

Washington Examiner, by Timothy P. Carney

Original Article

In 2009, the Obama administration gave $24.8 million in stimulus tax credits to GE’s famous “Appliance Park” factory compound. VP Joe Biden toured the plant as a stimulus success declaring: So those who talk about this is big government, this is big government giving a little bit of help to jump start America to lead the world in the 21st century…In 2010, Appliance Park won a $2.5 stimulus grant. In 2011, a Commerce Department official toured Appliance Park touting Obama’s push to increase U.S. manufacturing. Then in 2012, GE CEO and Obama Jobs Czar Jeff Immelt announced

We might as well get used to it, under this regime there is a lot more to come. How terribly unfortunate for us.

That´s what happens when (1) you work for GE and (2) Boss Immelt is no longer the Obama "Jobs Czar."

Time for the pink slips.

Hint to all GE employees ... GE does not stand for "Good to Employees." The quicker you leave Boss Immelt´s criminal enterprise, the better your life will be.

Funny, I don´t recall Obama mentioning this sequestration consequence today. Perhaps its not due to tiny budget cuts, but a struggling consumer, high and rising gasoline prices, frozen wages, reduced take home pay and threats of less income in the future.

Perhaps sales are down because many of us now refuse to buy GE ever again because we were sold out for no taxes and those darn light bulbs.

Seeing as how GE paid no taxes I´d say the over-taxed payer subsidized this company to the tune of billions!
BTW - I haven´t bought anything with a GE name on it for decades...mostly because it was cheap junk.

BTW ... there are people buying appliances. I bought a new fridge last fall.

Was it GE? Nope, it was an automatic no-buy. I got a Whirlpool.

I need to buy a cooktop. All I saw at Home Depot was GE, so I´m heading to Sears for another brand.

But that´s what happens when you (1) screw your employees, past and present (myself included) and (2) cast your lot with Dear Leader(US) -- including your ownership of the Obama Propaganda Channel (NBC Universal, which GE is selling off the last 49% they own).

As much as I care, I hope GE has the same result as Solyndra.

Same here #4 and #5. I stopped buying GE awhile ago once I learned that they had business dealings with Iran some years ago. Now I go out of my way to let people know that GE pushed for the CFLs, paid zero...nada taxes last year, and I personally think their products are too overpriced and of inferior quality. And to top it off, Immelt is a bit too sleazy and sycophantic for my liking. Yuck!

Exactly what is it GE makes here that provides US Jobs, anyway? I check out GE stuff, small appliances and large at the floor stores and see all kinds of Chinese writing on them (parts made in china, assembled in USA ? ?). So, the Chinese make them, ship them over here and the dumbed down American workers just assemble the kits on their living room floors? So, what´s the Øbama two plus billion dollar hand out for? New Screwdrivers for the assemblers who are now being "furloughed" for five weeks?

I have always refused, categorically, to purchase any item from any private coorp that took stimulus money!

Don´t get quite so enamored of Whirlpool, at least their refrigerators. Several years ago the screwed their employees and much of their supplier base, and moved much of that production, including ALL the side by sides, to Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. Thanks for nothing, NAFTA. Perot was right.

My washer bit the dust so I had to buy a new one. The appliance store was full of GE washers and the clerk told me they all ran on computers (costs about $600 to replace that computer). I told her I refuse to buy any GE products or any product run by computer and did she have any others. She directed me to a Speed Queen that had no computer; ran on metal gears and not plastic ones; and came with an automatic 3-year warranty. I bought it. Runs great.

Just goes to show you that stimulis money can´t alter the current economic situation. It provides temporary targeted employment that builds upon sound economic policies that increase demand. We have a factory and workers ready to go but no demand. Typical of liberal government policy that has no bearing on reality. This is what you get when you let a political celebrity run the government.

The Council on American Islamic Relations, CAIR, claims to be an anti-defamation organization. In fact, as we shall see, it is anything but. CAIR was founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmed, who had ties with the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was established by the terrorist organization Hamas. In perhaps his most defining moment in the 113th Congress, McConnell strode up to the dais and declared his “aye” vote in a clear voice heard throughout the chamber. It broke the impasse and seven more Republicans soon voted as well to end the filibuster.
