Chicago´s top cop likens gun
lobby´s influence to corruption

Facing a surging homicide rate and several headline-grabbing murders, Chicago’s top cop is taking aim at lobbyists who he says prevent politicians from implementing more gun control measures. Appearing on a local Windy City Sunday morning talk show on the radio station WLSAM, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said special interests that lobby politicians to influence their opinion on gun control are the real problem. “If there was a special interest influencing police work, I believe that would be called corruption,” McCarthy said.

Maybe Chicago should hire a real cop. Like obama, he blames everyone else.

Yeah, America must sacrifice constitutional rights because incompetent "top cops" cannot address the total dysfunction of many black communities. Most legal gun owners never commit a gun-related crime. So why should their constitutional rights be suffocated to obfuscate the real problems in places like Chicago?
Answer: "You can´t deal with the truth."

Typical. Take the path of least resistance. Too much work to go after the law breakers. Go after those who follow the law, they will comply.

Obviously incompetent. This dangerous fool flops around while hundreds of Chicago residents cower or are murdered, yet they keep voting these idiots into office to rule over them. It´s like some kind of Darwinian law. Garry, is it corruption or complete lack of ability, that prevents your department from stopping the daily violence and crime generated by the 3 well known gangs in your city?

Perhaps you could spend more time doing your job and less time whining about gun lobbies.

McCarthy began in NYC. Got in trouble and was passed over for a promotion.

He was hired as police chief in Newark. We all know how well that worked out. He blamed all the murders on drugs.

Next stop, Chicago. We see how well he is doing his job in Chicago.

Where next, Detroit?

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday lashed out over the claim that the administration misled Americans about the nature of the Libya terror attack by asserting that it was the result of a protest, raising her voice during a Senate hearing and asking: "What difference, at this point, does it make?" Clinton, in what may be her final set of testimony as secretary, pointedly challenged Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson when he claimed the department could have "easily" determined what happened that night by interviewing staffers who were evacuated.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”
