| Politico has a new piece insinuating that there are four GOP senators who are frustrated that they haven’t had a phone call from the White House so they can work together. Rob Portman of Ohio said this: I view this as a time to turn the page and take a fresh approach from both the White House and the congressional perspective and try to work together on these difficult political issues that have to be addressed. Doing it at the level of our leadership and the president hasn’t worked. Speaking of immigration reform, Portman said:

Comments: The last sentence says it all. 0bama has no intention of "working with them." All he wants is his way or the highway. He is in TV right now bashing the rich and Republicans on sequestration when he caused it. He absolutely sickens me.

Poster #1 has it right. The senate Republicans only play defense and even that not very well. They need a new coach and a new playbook.

You´d think after four years of BO, they´d figure out that he isn´t into "working with" anyone. He won, you know.
These people must be really stupid and needy to think otherwise.

Pathetic. These idiots are in a fight for their very lives and they have no idea of what to do. I guess we could start by stop electing lawyers or obvious phonies on the make for fame and fortune. If only there was a media savvy businessperson who had some martial arts, sports or military background. It´s a fight to the death for the country. Get in it NOW!

Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday he did not know whether there has been even one prosecution under the Born Alive Infant Protection Act. “Have you ever enforced this law even one time?” Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) asked Holder during a House Judiciary Committee hearing after referencing abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who was convicted of three counts of first degree counts murder in the deaths of three babies whose spinal cords were severed after they were born alive. “I don’t know,” Holder replied. Franks described how the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, enacted in 2002, “provides that all federal

In a matter of days, the Obama administration has done something that the president´s political opponents have failed to do over four and a half years: inflicted serious damage to President Obama´s public standing. Obama has throughout his presidency aggressively combated GOP criticism -- on issues large and small -- mocking the attacks as political theater short on facts. But with his own administration now embroiled in a flurry of controversies, including IRS mistreatment of conservative groups and the Justice Department´s secret monitoring of journalists´ phones, the president is coming across not

WASHINGTON- President Barack Obama says the acting commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, Steven Miller, has submitted his resignation in the aftermath of an investigation that found the agency improperly targeted conservative groups. Obama says Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew requested Miller´s resignation. Obama says he also insists that safeguards be put in place to prevent reoccurrence of improper actions. Obama has been under pressure to act in the aftermath of acknowledgement by top IRS officials that conservative groups were improperly singled out.

A growing chorus of Democratic leaders says the current controversy surrounding the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) should have no effect on the agency´s work implementing President Obama´s healthcare reform law. A number of Republicans have said the recent revelation that IRS officials had targeted conservative groups leaves the agency with no credibility as it prepares to implement those parts of the reform law under its watch. But Rep. Rosa DeLauro (Conn.), head of the Democrats´ Steering and Policy Committee, said Wednesday that, while the targeting episode is "outrageous,"

Senate Democrats today blocked Sen. Rand Paul’s (R-Ky.) resolution condemning the IRS and advocating an investigation reaching deep into the Obama administration. “The president has deemed this inexcusable, yet actions speak louder than words. It is time for President Obama and his Administration to act and it is our duty as Americans to hold them accountable,” he added. The resolution finds that “the Internal Revenue Service engaged in discriminatory behavior” and calls for an independent authority to investigate “and, if applicable, seek criminal charges against any individuals who authorized or were involved in

Obamacare is not merely a massive overhaul of the health care system. It is also a substantial expansion of the Internal Revenue Service. That’s because the law relies on the tax collection agency to both enforce its individual mandate and administer the tax credits the law offers to subsidize the purchase of health insurance. Following recent revelations that agents in multiple IRS offices, including tax officials in Washington, targeted conservative groups for extra scrutiny, a number of former and current Republican legislators are already counseling caution about the agency´s role in administering the law.

That figure was included in data provided by the IRS in response to a Freedom of Information Act request by The Washington Examiner. Lerner is director of the IRS exempt organizations division, which processes and approves or denies applications from groups seeking tax-exempt status. President Obama will make a statement at 6 p.m. about the targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service. Earlier Wednesday, Obama met with senior Treasury officials to discuss the simmering scandal. Obama has faced growing calls to push for the ouster of IRS leaders. The president Tuesday called the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS “intolerable and inexcusable,” saying those who unfairly scrutinized the tax-exempt status of Republican-leaning organizations would be held “accountable.”

The White House released more than 100 pages of e-mails on Wednesday in a bid to quell critics who say President Barack Obama and his aides played politics with national security following the deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. The exchanges detailing discussions between top Obama administration officials from multiple agencies suggest the CIA took the lead in developing talking points to describe the attack last September 11 that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. During a House Judiciary Committee hearing this afternoon, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) grilled Attorney General Eric Holder over whether his office plans to turn over potential evidence of alleged violations of the Federal Records Act by President Obama‘s new Labor Secretary nominee, former Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez. The resultant exchange was a tense one, with Holder calling Issa’s behavior “shameful.” Asked whether his office will comply with a bipartisan group of House members seeking the remaining private emails from Perez allegedly leaking non-public information, Holder told Issa:

During a congressional hearing on Wednesday, Attorney General Eric Holder was grilled by representatives regarding his knowledge of the scandal surrounding the Justice Department’s seizure of the Associated Press’ phone records. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) interrogated Holder over his decision to recuse himself from the case, and declared that the Obama administration had “impaired the First Amendment.” “The actions of the Department have, in fact, impaired the First Amendment” Lofgren began. “Reporters that might have previously believed that a confidential source would speak to them would no longer have that level of confidence, because those confidential

To no one’s surprise, it is already evident that the Obama administration has been lying about the scope of the IRS’s harassment of conservative-leaning non-profits. The Washington Post has obtained documents that show the anti-conservative effort was directed from Washington, D.C., and was not a rogue operation out of the agency’s Cincinnati office, as the administration has claimed: Internal Revenue Service officials in Washington and at least two other offices were involved in the targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, making clear the effort reached well beyond the

In a sweeping and unusual move, the Justice Department secretly obtained two months of telephone records of journalists working for the Associated Press as part of a year-long investigation into the disclosure of classified information about a failed al-Qaeda plot last year. The AP’s president said Monday that federal authorities obtained cell, office and home telephone records of individual reporters and an editor, AP general office numbers in Washington, New York and Hartford, and the main number for AP reporters covering Congress in what he called a “massive and unprecedented intrusion”

As a metaphor for big government, it is hard to top the Justice Department’s seizing of journalists’ phone records from The Associated Press. Unless, of course, you think the best example is the Internal Revenue Service turning the screws on groups it viewed as conservative and, therefore, unworthy of fair treatment. Or maybe the winner is the sneaky spreading of ObamaCare’s tentacles, with insurance companies now predicting the law will drive up the cost of individual premiums by as much as 400 percent. There are no losers in this race to the bottom — except the American people. It is tempting

President Obama was asked about the metastasizing Benghazi scandal in a joint news conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday. Referring to the Americans who died in Benghazi, the president said, "We dishonor them when we turn things like this into a political circus." He added that "the whole issue of talking points, throughout this process, frankly, has been a sideshow.… There´s no there there." He´s half right. The talking points drafted by the State Department, the CIA and the White House and given to congressional Republicans and, most famously, to U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice

President Passerby needs urgently to become a participant in his presidency. Late Monday came the breathtaking news of a full-frontal assault on the First Amendment by his administration: word that the Justice Department had gone on a fishing expedition through months of phone records of Associated Press reporters. And yet President Obama reacted much as he did to the equally astonishing revelation on Friday that the IRS had targeted conservative groups based on their ideology: He responded as though he were just some bloke on a bar stool, getting his information from the evening news.

One Democrat who likes Obama and has been around town for many years said elected officials in his own party are no different than Republicans: they think the president is distant and unapproachable. “He has never taken the Democratic chairs up to Camp David to have a drink or to have a discussion,” the longtime Washingtonian said. “You gotta stroke people, and talk to them. It’s like courting: you have to send flowers and candy and have surprises. It’s a constant process. Now they’re saying, ‘He never talked to me in the good times.’ ”

Attorney General Eric Holder has recused himself from the Associated Press leak investigation. He will officially announce his recusal at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Fox News is reporting his recusal comes partially because Holder has testified about potential national security leaks surrounding a May 7, 2012 Associated Press story. Yesterday, the Associated Press revealed the Department of Justice had been secretly monitoring both the personal and work phones of numerous AP editors and reporters. DOJ responded to these revelations by releasing the following

Gore blogged on Friday that concentrations of carbon dioxide hit 400 parts per million in the Earth’s atmosphere, a warning that if Americans don’t change there will be dire consequences. “Now more than ever before, we are reaping the consequences of our recklessness,” Gore wrote. “From Superstorm Sandy, which crippled New York City and large areas of New Jersey, to a drought, which parched more than half of our nation;

New York -- Is Rush Limbaugh becoming a relic, a human version of "Mad Men," except without the style or cool clothes? Has Limbaugh become as dated as Jazzercise or "Macarena?" All you need to do is look at the bottom line to see that Limbaugh is in trouble. Limbaugh once raked in the big bucks for his radio syndicator, Cumulus. But last week, Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey made it clear those days are over. Dickey reported that Cumulus had lost millions of dollars in ad sales because many advertisers no longer want to be associated with Limbaugh.
