Americans for Prosperity Set to Clash
Against Rove´s Super PAC

Big Government (Breitbart), by Tony Lee

Original Article

Posted By:mikkins2, 2/18/2013 11:33:27 AM

Americans for Prosperity, the conservative group that has fiercely supported free market principles and embraced the Tea Party movement, is considering getting involved in Republican primaries next year, which could pit the group against Karl Rove´s recently-created super PAC. Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity, said the group will consider threatening GOP lawmakers in primaries who increase spending or taxes. After Rove created his "Conservative Victory Project," many conservatives felt the group was meant to wage war against Tea Party candidates.

Comments:
Time to take the party back.

Saying they are "considering" getting involved in republican primaries, isn´t very encouraging. What are they "considering"? Are they "considering" that, since Rove´s chosen candidates won´t be conservatives, but RINOs, they maybe able te extort some cash from Rove´s group to stay out of it?

Don´t trust any of the hucksters that are gong to come along, based on Rove´s (and the GOP´s) determination to move the party to the left. They are just as crooked, don´t give two squats about this country, (just money), and will waste our time in taking BACK the country.

#4. Your comment goes to the heart of the matter. The fight ain´t between R´s; it´s between those who are principled conservatives
first and insist the GOP stand for something; and those R hustlers like Rove whose laser like focus is on ´winning´ for no particular purpose. You´re smart enough to understand this.

Oscar Pistorius murder charge:

Telegraph [UK], by Aislinn Laing

Police in South Africa are treating the iPad of slain model Reeva Steenkamp as “an intrinsic part” of their investigation amid reports that a late-night message from a rugby player might have sparked a row with boyfriend Oscar Pistorius that led to her death. The iPad was reportedly found on the bedroom floor of Mr Pistorius’ home after Miss Steenkamp was shot dead in the early hours of Thursday morning. Francois Hougaard, the South African national team rugby player at the centre of the rumours, who was friends with both Mr Pistorius, 26, and Miss Steenkamp,

#7. Wasn´t patronizing Malia at all, just stating something that should be obvious. Sure, the choice of candidate is one´s own and always has been. That´s hardly the point. For far to long the voters have chosen between Tweedledum and Tweedledee and the result is self-evident; nothing changes. Surely you must have noticed by now?

Better for Americans for Prosperity to put their resources toward a new party. The GOP elites will wag their fingers with dire warnings of Democrat dominance - but they ignore that a new party without the "party of the rich" albatross would also draw from the Democrats. The two-party big-tent status quo simply no longer works. There´s a middle-class vacuum to be filled. The ideal multi-party system is where no party, including the Democrat party, commands an absolute majority. Then "compromise" must occur on a candidate-by-candidate and issue-by-issue basis, not once every four years. Electoral and legislative success would depend on coalitions of the various parties. The NY Conservative party (which endorses conservative GOP candidates and issues) is a template.

We nominated a presidential candidate whose PAC was run by a Rove protege and that PAC concentrated its efforts in late 2011 and the primary season on silencing good candidates and muting substantive discussions. Negative ops and planted stories-- a scorched earth policy which won a nomination and coordinated a loss of almost unbelievable proportion against a very defeatable candidate. Now it is claimed that all good candidates are welcome, but that somehow group think focusing on principles and ideologies is somehow patronizing and counterproductive, er, um, unless Karl Rove and his are deciding who the good candidates are, and which ones ought to be weeded out.

Apparently it all depends on whose ox is being gored.

Sen. Mike Lee of Utah launched an “anti-cronyism” agenda Monday with a column in the National Review urging the Republican Party to advocate populist, free-market reforms over tax loopholes, government subsidies and federal bailouts. That kind of Republican party, he writes “could not only unify and excite conservatives, but appeal to hardworking families in the purple and blue communities that President [Barack] Obama’s special-interest favoritism is leaving behind.” Mr. Lee is scheduled to continue the rollout with television appearances, town halls, a speech at the Heritage Foundation on April 30, and several pieces of legislation. Will the real Republican Establishment please stand up? In the four years since the Supreme Court struck down fundraising regulations that effectively gave the Democratic and Republican parties a monopoly on large-scale political activity, a collection of Tea Party-affiliated organizations has arisen in Washington that competes with the GOP for campaign contributors, money and influence -- and over what legislation to push and which candidates to nominate. The groups, including the Club for Growth, FreedomWorks and the Senate Conservatives Fund, have moved aggressively to kill legislation they oppose and oust incumbent Republicans they deem insufficiently conservative. Typically, constitutionalists accuse their establishment rivals of being moderate, risk-averse, stubborn old fools who lack faith in conservative principles. This is a soothing interpretation, as it begins from the hypothesis that the contest between conservatives and the GOP elite is a family feud. But there is another hypothesis -- less soothing, but, at least from an outsider´s bird´s-eye view, more reconcilable with the facts.
