Doug Schoen, Pat Caddell and fmr. Rep. John LeBoutillier (R-NY) discuss Benghazi, Hagel & Brennan confirmations, Obama´s State of the Union, immigration, spending cuts, the sequestration and more. (via Johnny Dollar) PAT CADDELL on President Obama´s statement on Benghazi: "That was a stunning statement, though. That was a president saying, ´I´ve never quite seen it.´ … It reminds me of Nixon and Watergate. Something is going on here. When John McCain used the word coverup today. Bob Woodward was on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace today
~~CADDELL: The man who was going to unite the America, there´s no red America, blue America -- this man has, as Doug and I have written last year, early on, is the most divisive president in our lifetime. He is tearing the country apart.
SCHOEN: He speaks of bipartisanship but offers no policies that offer any hope of achieving bipartisanship. And bottom line, he is doing nothing more than trying to eliminate the Republican party.~~
Too bad other news networks cannot seem to find any other honest dems.
I commented to another article that Kirsten Powers was getting more attractive the further away she moves from the liberal plantation. Sadly, though Pat Caddell has almost officially moved, the same can´t be said for him. I like both him and Schoen and find them to be reasonable men, if that word can be ascribed to any liberal.
"Insiders" is my favorite political analysis show. Caddell, in particular, tells it "like it is" (in deference to the late Howard Cosell). Be sure to stream it on foxnews.com or the FoxNews Live Video channel on your favorite streaming device.
On today´s show, they took some serious shots at the GOP as well as the Dems, especially on the economic issues.
Covered California mailed out more than 100,000 botched letters to confused consumers in late November and early December, and now this story from the president´s home state: Illinois officials are emailing and calling thousands of people, advising them to start over on their health insurance applications if they believe the federal government mistakenly referred them to Medicaid. The latest wrinkle in the troubled enrollment process for the nation´s new health insurance system was announced Wednesday, just days ahead of a key enrollment deadline. The federal HealthCare.gov website received more than 30,000 applications from Illinoisans who may be eligible for Medicaid, the
Just as cigars sometimes can indeed be just cigars, so too can jokes. Yet this is a point which seems to be lost on several left-wing media writers who have taken great umbrage at the mockery that conservatives are making at the expense of one Ethan Krupp, better known as “PajamaBoy.” The crew on MSNBC’s Morning Joe proved today that not everyone on the left has missed the absurdity of the Obama administration putting forward a grown man in children’s pajamas with a cup of hot chocolate as the public face of Obamacare to young people. Still, there appear to
One of the eight federal prisoners granted sentence commutations by President Barack Obama Thursday is a first cousin of Gov. Deval Patrick (D-Mass), one of the president´s most devoted supporters on the national political scene. Reynolds Allen Wintersmith Jr. was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in Illinois federal court in 1994 of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute cocaine and cocaine base and possession with intent to distribute crack. He was 19 at the time of his arrest and 17 at the time he got involved running drugs for the Gangster Disciples gang. He is
The D.C. health exchange says it is launching an Obamacare blitz this weekend and knows where to go to find “young invincibles” — in line to buy the latest edition of Air Jordan sneakers. D.C. Health Link announced on Thursday it will seek out shoppers this weekend — the last retail spurt before Christimas — to educate them about enrollment options under the Affordable Care Act on its city-run health exchange. It will kick off its strategy at Safeway grocery stores on Friday in the city’s eastern wards. On Saturday, exchanges assisters will work the lines that will likely form
Rep. Peter King said fellow Republican Sen. Rand Paul owes the nation’s top intelligence official an apology after saying he should resign for “lying” to a Senate committee about a controversial surveillance program. The New York congressman also said that Paul´s comparison of National Intelligence Director James Clapper to NSA leaker Edward Snowden is "absolutely disgraceful." "For Senator Paul to compare that patriot, General Clapper, with someone like Snowden, who is a traitor, who has put American lives at risk - Senator Paul should be ashamed of himself," King said Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room.” "It´s an absolute disgrace.
Duck season may soon be over for A&E. The Robertson family released a statement late Thursday that raises doubts about the future of one of the most popular shows on cable television. “We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm,” the Robertson family said in a prepared statement. “We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty.” The family said it has “spent much time in prayer” since learning A&E had suspended Phil Robertson,
More voters have a positive opinion of former President George W. Bush than President Barack Obama, according to the latest Fox News Poll. But former President Bill Clinton is liked best of the three. The poll finds 50 percent of voters have a favorable opinion of Bush, while 47 percent have an unfavorable view. By contrast, Obama has a net negative rating: 46 percent have a favorable opinion of him, while 52 percent have an unfavorable opinion. Views of Clinton are far more positive: 70 percent favorable vs. 26 percent unfavorable. That gives him a huge net positive rating (+ 44 points). The two
The Obama administration is planning to allow individuals whose health insurance was cancelled under ObamaCare to buy catastrophic plans once intended mainly for young people. Under the plan, individuals who are unable to renew their current health insurance will be able to purchase bare-bones coverage, according to a source connected with the health industry.Current rules say that to qualify for a catastrophic plan, individuals must be either under 30 or qualify for a "hardship" exemption. The Obama administration´s new guidance will argue that individuals whose 2013 plans were canceled and who determine that other options are not affordable should be
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals released its reaction to the suspension of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson by A&E: PETA wants A&E to do more than suspend one of the characters on Duck Dynasty for damning gays. We call on the channel to challenge the entire crew of duck slayers to ignore Sarah Palin’s self-serving slap on the back for spewing hate speech and deny that they are as anti-gay as they are anti-animal. All people who consider themselves followers of Christ should follow all His teachings—and that includes showing mercy, compassion, and kindness to all of God’s
September wasn’t a good month for traditional Republican foreign policy. Five out of the eight GOP members on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted against a resolution of military force against the Assad regime in Syria after it used chemical weapons on its own people. Two of them were 2016 presidential hopefuls: Senators Marco Rubio and Rand Paul, whose no votes confirmed that isolationism is now a force to be reckoned with in Republican politics. Yet on the other side of the debate was an old reliable voice in Lindsey Graham. “It is inconvenient, it is hard, it is complicated,
GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba – The commander of the Guantanamo Bay naval base decided Wednesday to move Nativity scenes from two dining halls following complaints that the decorations improperly promoted Christianity. Both Nativity scenes will be moved to the courtyard of the base chapel, said Kelly Wirfel, a spokeswoman for Capt. John Nettleton, commander of the base in southeastern Cuba. The displays were set up by foreign contractors who manage the two dining facilities and were "not intended to endorse any religion," Wirfel said in response to concerns raised by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. The group, which advocates
State Department contract awards were posted this week for "Transportation services in support of Mandela Funeral" and "Accommodation in support of the Nelson Mandela funeral in South Africa." The accompanying Justification and Approval documents estimated the cost of transportation at a maximum of $8,286,194.74. The transportation contract covers only ground transportation in South Africa. Costs for Air Force One and other air travel are not included. Two contracts were listed for the cost of lodging: one for $2,042,850 for an estimated "3,240 lodging room nights" and another for $1,190,573 for an estimated "2,490 lodging room nights" stretching from December 6,
Is this man simply expressing his beliefs or spewing bigotry?Either way, Phil Robertson, the patriarch in A&E´s "Duck Dynasty," won´t be duck calling on air anytime soon. The network suspended him after slamming gays in a magazine interview. In the January issue of GQ, Robertson said homosexuality is a sin and puts it in the same category as bestiality and promiscuity. "It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man´s anus. That´s just me. I´m just thinking: There´s more there! She´s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know
A&E broke its silence on Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments late Wednesday. The cable network announced Robertson is off the hit show for the time being. The network issued the following statement to EW: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
The gay and lesbian rights group GLAAD is slamming ´Duck Dynasty´ patriarch Phil Robertson for comments he made about homosexuality to GQ magazine, and challenging the show´s network, A&E, to take action against its most popular star. In a wide-ranging interview, Robertson shared his thoughts on homosexuality and religion. After stating in very graphic terms his preference for heterosexual sex over homosexual sex, Robertson launched into more thoughts about homosexuality and sinning. “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong... Sin becomes fine,” he said.
Yes, she really said it. On CNN’s Piers Morgan Live Tuesday, in a brief discussion about President Obama, Barbara Walters actually said, “We thought that he was going to be - I shouldn´t say this at Christmastime, but - the next messiah” (video follows with transcript and commentary): PIERS MORGAN, HOST: You have interviewed every president of my lifetime. Why is Obama facing so much opposition now? Why is he struggling so much to really fulfill the great flame of ambition and excitement that he was elected on originally in 2009?
Everyone is doing thoughtful year-end pieces on President Obama. Writers and reporters agree he’s had his worst year ever. I infer from most of their essays an unstated but broadly held sense of foreboding: There’s no particular reason to believe next year will be better, and in fact signs and indications point to continued trouble. I would add that in recent weeks I have begun to worry about the basic competency of the administration, its ability to perform the most fundamental duties of executive management. One reason I worry is that I frequently speak with people who interact with the White
O ne year removed from re-election, President Obama´s approval rating has sunk to the lowest level of his presidency. Furthermore, Obama´s popularity among the Democratic Party base — whose rejuvenated support proved crucial last November — took a huge hit this past year. Only 54 percent of self-described liberals "very strongly" approve of Obama´s job performance, according to a Pew survey released this week. That´s down from an all-time high of nearly 90 percent, and a significant decline from the 73 percent who strongly approved of the president back in June. Why the steep drop? Well, the first year of Obama´s second term
John Podesta was just named as a new senior-level adviser to President Obama last week, but he´s already ruffling Republican feathers. In a profile published late Tuesday night by Politico Magazine, Podesta is quoted comparing Republicans to the infamous cult led by Jim Jones, who was responsible for the 1978 cyanide poisoning of more than 900 of his followers in Guyana. "They need to focus on executive action given that they are facing a second term against a cult worthy of Jonestown in charge of one of the houses of Congress," said Podesta of what Obama´s White House team faces.
Hours after we reported that Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson dropped some illogical “logic” on homosexuality during his GQ interview, his home network A&E decided to indefinitely suspend him from the show. While Robertson’s comments were hilariously ignorant, they were predictable — especially given his family’s socially-conservative, Bible-loving image. Suspending the lead character for his wholly predictable comments is not only an overreaction but a gross misstep. To recap: The Duck Commander patriarch remarked to the men’s magazine that homosexuality is on par with bestiality, and used fifth-grade “logic” to imply that homosexual men should give up their ways of choosing a
A&E has placed Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson on indefinite hiatus following anti-gay remarks he made in a recent profile in GQ. "We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," A&E said in a statement. "His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely." The news comes after Robertson compared homosexuality to bestiality in an interview
The Ivy-League educated half-brother of President Obama is publishing his autobiography in which he makes the shocking claim their father dished out alcohol-fueled beatings to him and his mother and in one terrifying instance held a knife to her throat. Mark Obama Ndesandjo, 48, also uses his new book to set the U.S. president straight on inaccuracies he claims exist in his best-selling 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father and confirms they have never seen eye-to-eye because ´Barack thought I was too white and I thought he was too black.´ The self-published book, Cultures: My Odyssey of Self-Discovery, which will be
Valerie Jarrett denied being a “shadow chief of staff” to President Obama on Wednesday, insisting she never talks about work during her private time with the president and first lady. “I´m not the shadow chief of staff. I have very specific responsibilities,” Jarrett, a senior adviser to the president and a longtime family friend of the Obamas, said at a Politico breakfast. [WATCH VIDEO] Jarrett said that “people sometimes presume because I am a friend of the president and first lady” that she´s able to exert influence when the Obamas retire from the office to their residence. “There is this
It’s not unusual for President Obama to tweet out messages in support of his signature health care law, but a photo attached to one online missive is not getting the type of hype the White House had hoped for. The blogosphere and TV pundits are mocking the picture of a young “hipster”-type man in plaid pajamas and black-frame glasses who, while sipping a warm beverage, looks off camera with a slight grin. “Wear pajamas. Drink hot chocolate. Talk about getting health insurance,” the ad says. The photo got prominent play on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” eliciting laughter from its panel. “You are
