Kerry Warns About Cost of

Mum on $2.4 Billion For Pakistan

Secretary of State John Kerry says looming sequestration cuts that will reduce the State Department’s fiscal year 2013 budget by $2.6 billion could affect sensitive areas like diplomatic security and aid to Israel – but is silent on Pakistan, a country that alone accounts for $2.4 billion in the existing FY2013 request. In a letter last week to Senate Appropriations Committee chairwoman Sen. Barbara Milkuski (D-Md.), Kerry said the across-the-board cut of $2.6 billion “would seriously impair our ability to execute our vital missions of national security, diplomacy and development.” Some $850 million would have

Didn´t Jack Lew design and promote sequestration? Didn´t Obama and the democrats think it was a good idea playing this political game and think that republicans won´t go for it? Now Lew is up for Treasury Secretary and saying sequestration is bad, Kerry as a democrat thought it was great but now as Secretary of State it´s bad and Obama is playing golf with Tiger Woods and blaming the Republicans for coming up with this?

Threaten a Dem with budget cuts and he will say: "Well...OK, but the first things we will cut will be those things which we value most."

They make this claim without ever being asked why we would not first cut those things which we value least ?

Or better yet, those ares which are most full of fraud, waste and abuse.

The Pakis never miss a chance to screw us.

But J.Efin.Kerry would rather stiff the Jews.

If these punks are so worried about funds to avoid sequestration, why don´t they give up Obamacare? Then there should be plenty of money.

They won´t do that of course because they just like having something to complain about like the spoiled brats they are.

Cut out every Government agency that is not necessary or pare them down to their essential
tasks. Sell every empty or underused Government property and sell or rent all Government owned land. Repeal Obamacare. You think it is difficult to balance the budget. It´s a piece of cake but the Administration does not want you to know it. They want money, power, and CONTROL.

They ahve live so lonjg on continuing resolutions and baseline budgetting that they have lost all sense of money management. It is always give me more.

While the Obama administration focuses on hotspots like the Middle East and Asia, some lawmakers worry the U.S. is ignoring what could be a critical battleground – the Arctic Ocean. The permanent sea ice around the North Pole has been receding since the 1970’s. Countries are now staking their claims, whether it’s for oil, valuable shipping lanes or national defense. ADVERTISEMENT “The Arctic is already in play,” said Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif. “We do know there are many countries that are trying to set their sights on the Arctic, and that’s going to be an issue.” The biggest immediate concern, some say, is the

Democrats hint at petition drive

House Democrats said Thursday they’ll soon launch an official petition drive to try to force Republicans to vote on Democrats’ immigration bill — but said even before that, they’ll try to force a vote on a minimum wage increase. Emerging from a day of meetings at their policy retreat in Maryland, Democratic leaders said the minimum wage will come first because it’s the most central to their efforts to try to paint Republicans into a corner on income inequality. But, under fire from immigrant-rights advocates, Democrats said immigration will come soon after that. The petition drives, known as “discharge petitions,” are a

EPA employees’ use of their own private email accounts to conduct government business was rampant among top-level officials, according to according to a new report Thursday from Senate Republicans that accused the agency’s own internal watchdog of botching an investigation. Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee said their findings call into question the work of the EPA’s inspector general, who in September issued a report clearing the EPA of wrongdoing in the email scandal. But the GOP, in a new memo, said it has learned of at least 17 current and former EPA employees, including top leadership,

The board criticized Cruz for lacking a strategy and for pursuing an ideological agenda that would result in negative consequences for his party. “The Senate passed the House debt-limit increase on Wednesday, but not before some needless drama that helps to explain why Republicans remain a minority,” the WSJ piece began. CAMBRIDGE, MD – House Democrats are launching an effort to force the Republicans´ hand on the minimum wage. The Democrats will introduce a discharge petition later this month designed to force a floor vote on a proposal to hike the minimum wage, even in the face of entrenched opposition from GOP leaders. The discharge petition faces a high bar, as it would require at least 18 Republicans to buck their leadership and endorse the measure – a scenario the Democrats readily acknowledge is unlikely. It´s no surprise that Barack Obama´s authoritarian streak is revealing itself at last. It was always there; clearly apparent in his rhetoric (e.g., his envy of Chinese president Xi Jin-ping´s powers), his abuse of executive orders, his threats against Congress, his sultan with fly-whisk attitudes toward his opposition, and even his vacations, which reek more of third-world trash gamboling on the Riviera than any American leader (George W. Bush settled his mind by clearing brush in Texas, Reagan at his ranch in Santa Barbara. Obama unfortunately finds the brush already cleared in Martha´s Vineyard and Hawaii.)

President Obama has repeatedly suspended parts of the Affordable Care Act without the consent of Congress. The latest unilateral action happened Monday night, when the administration announced another delay of the employer mandate, the law´s provision that businesses with more than 50 employees must provide their employees with insurance starting in 2014 or pay large fines. In July, the president decreed the mandate wouldn´t be enforced at all in 2014, and last night administration officials declared that businesses with 50 to 99 employees wouldn´t be penalized in 2015.
