Further Reflections on Benghazi
American Spectator, by Andrew B. Wilson

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/18/2013 6:13:54 AM

Write in haste, repent at leisure. The article that appeared in this weekend’s TAS under the title “Obama Fiddled While Benghazi burned… and an election approached” was one that I wrote racing against a deadline. While there is nothing I want to take back from this weekend’s article, there are many things I’d like to add… for the sake of readers who believe, as I do, that this story — this shameful but instructive story of dereliction of duty in the highest office of the land — should not be allowed to fade into the dimly remembered past

I don´t know if I believe that Obama simply vanished during the night of the attack. But it´s better to have people to think that than the possibility that he actually gave the order to stand down. He can´t possibly have told Panatta to do what you must, then walk away. That´s dereliction, even for Obama.

Whether the dereliction was deliberate or substance-induced, it blew into a crisis that Axelgrease spun masterfully, aided and abetted by Hilary Clinton, Susan Rice, Candy Crowley, and, no doubt behind the scenes, the Iranian ValJar.

There has been so much more to this story that we haven´t heard that I find it amazing, but not shocking that the American Pravda media hasn´t had the least bit curiosity in following up on, and perusing it.

I highly recommend this article.

FTA: "Those who have retained the ability to think straight and act with courage need to wrest control of past from the present-day masterminds who, if given the chance, will destroy everything. "

This statement is very powerful. Read it, again and again. This is inclusive of both sides of the aisle in Congress.
This brings to the forefront the pandering to the camera for McCain and Graham during the Hagel hearing and now their Limp statements of why they will vote for him.

I´ve had a little trouble with the scenario that Obama was smuggling weapons to Syrian opposition forces. I honestly believe Obama is rooting for the other side. The Muslim Brotherhood has formed a truce with Iran and I believe Obama is a true believer. Now, if Brennan was running the show that might make a difference.

Obama was running a secret war in the ME, off the books and out of the chain of command, thus unconstitutional and illegal. For details read the book, Benghazi: The definitive report, by Brandon Webb and Jack Murphy. The man in charge was John Brennan. The Benghazi crisis threatened to expose this illicit war, and it became imperative to put all possible distance between it and Obama, even if that meant making him look unpresidential. (Clinton did the same.) The Brandon-Murphy book is available in Kindle version for $2.99.

~~Chip Bok, the cartoonist who illustrated my weekend article, did another superb cartoon contrasting how the mainstream media cheered Cindy Sheehan (who lost a son in Iraq and became a national hero for camping out on George W. #19, the "us" is the Conservative voter who has allowed the "bottom line mentality" of Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck and O´Reilly to crowd out the search for facts AND the ability to recognize them.

Embracing the crazy side of the party COST US THE ELECTION.. We (Conservatives) cannot govern if we are shut out from state and federal positions because of being seen as (and often are) out of touch with reality.

If we don´t reel in the far-right, 2014 will see us lose the House too. And if Rand Paul runs in 2016, we can kiss the White House good-by.

The remains of suspected Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev have been buried in a Muslim cemetery in Doswell, a small community in central Virginia about 15 miles from the state capital of Richmond. Tsarnaev’s remains are interred at the Al-Barzakh Cemetery, the first Muslim cemetery in central Virginia, according to the woman who helped arrange the burial and to the Islamic Funeral Services of Virginia. The burial was coordinated Martha Mullen, 48, a Virginia woman who saw news reports about the protest outside the Worcester funeral home where Tsarnaev’s remains had languished for nearly a week, and decided to help.

DHAKA, Bangladesh - A seamstress buried in the wreckage of a collapsed garment factory building for 17 days was rescued Friday, a miraculous moment set against a scene of unimaginable horror, where the death toll shot past 1,000. Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks.

WASHINGTON — Five days before two bombs tore through crowds at the Boston Marathon, an intelligence report identified the finish line as an "area of increased vulnerability" and warned Boston police that homegrown extremists could use "small-scale bombings" to attack spectators and runners at the event. The 18-page report, similar to others sent to police and first responders before major events in the Boston area, was written by the Boston Regional Intelligence Center, which is funded in part by the Department of Homeland Security and helps disseminate intelligence information to local police and first responders.

‘Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?” That was how then–Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously brushed off the question of when she knew that the attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11 that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were, in fact, a terrorist assault and not a “protest” of an anti-Islam video that got out of hand. Republicans on Thursday boycotted a congressional hearing for President Obama´s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, putting the nomination in doubt and enraging White House officials who dismissed the act as the most blatant case yet of GOP obstructionism. The boycott was a major blow to Gina McCarthy´s chances of winning a filibuster-proof confirmation vote in the Senate, given that, without the Republicans, progressives can´t even get McCarthy through committee. Republicans said they refused to move ahead on McCarthy until the EPA adequately responds to their questions about her,

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula deserves a place in American history. He is the first person in this country jailed for violating Islamic anti-blasphemy laws. You won’t find that anywhere in the charges against him, of course. As a practical matter, though, everyone knows that Nakoula wouldn’t be in jail today if he hadn’t produced a video crudely lampooning the prophet Muhammad. In the weeks after the attack on U.S. facilities in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others, the Obama administration claimed the terrorist assault had been the outgrowth of a demonstration against the Nakoula video.

One question left mainly unaddressed by yesterday’s hearing on Benghazi — and by others, as well — is the lack of preparation by the Obama administration and the US military for the potential for attack in Benghazi. After all, terrorist attacks had been increasing steadily since the fall of the Qaddafi regime in 2011. Other Western nations had already withdrawn from Benghazi due to the security risks in the region, specifically from the radical Islamist terror networks able to operate freely in eastern Libya because of the removal of Qaddafi. As a presidential speech writer for the first Bush White House, I am always very interested in what presidents say in their formal speeches. They know, of course, that their remarks will be widely covered by the press, studied by analysts, and influential in contemporary political debates. For that reason, presidents rarely speak off-the-cuff, and their every word is carefully chosen for exactly the message the White House wants to convey to the public. Their graduation speeches, like all presidential addresses, go through many drafts and are reviewed by high-level administration officials
