Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) asked NBC´s David Gregory a question Sunday that should be asked of virtually every media member in this country. During a heated exchange about the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year, McCain said to his Meet the Press host, "Do you care whether four Americans died?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):DAVID GREGORY, HOST: The president said this week on the issue of Benghazi, "You guys are running out of things to ask about." So let me ask you, at the end of the day here on Benghazi, if the worst thing
No, he doesn´t care. he would only care if this had happened in a R administration. This time, McCain done good. More and more people should turn the tables on Obama´s media and ASK THEM TO ANSWER QUESTIONS!
the left has a stock answer on Benghazi and that´s the 4000+ that died in Iraq and according to them we killed 100´s of thousands of civilians. So,why are we so concerned over 4 people.
Never mind that this was complete dereliction of duty and a massive cover up scheme that blew up in their faces. A fake illness and injury to Hillary to buy time.Petraeus ran out of town to keep his mouth shut.
I rarely have anything nice to say about Sen. McCain, so here is an exception thanks for taking it right to the phoney journalist who is really just a propagandist in the Geobbel´s style. McCain did not let him get a way with it. Thanks you Senator this happens as often as the Pope retiring and lightning hitting the Vatican.
McCain outlines numerous issues that we don´t have answers to, nor are any answers forthcoming, and Gregory still continues to ask "A cover up of what?"!!! NBC is just State Controlled Media and Gregory is just another little monkey dancing on the end of the Obamboozler´s string!
"Do you not care about four dead Americans?. Or are you so bent upon saving Obama embarrassment that you will invite me on your show in an attempt to further brunt those who want answers? It is tragic that we have a media that refuse to help us honor these dead Americans by at the very least knowing the full story as to why it happened. (Take off mic and walk off the set).
that is what must begin to happen to these cretins. But don´t expect anyone but Cruse to do it.
After the Benghazi attack, Susan Rice was specifically asked to appear on ´´Meet the Press´´ in order to lie that it was caused by an anti-Islamist video.
And for years, John McCain has been specifically asked to appear on ´´Meet the Press´´ in order to undermine the Republican party.
´´Meet the Press´´ has been nothing if not consistent in its support for the Democrats.
But if John McCain has decided to no longer fulfill his anti-Republican mission on Sunday talkshows, which Republican will be left to do so? Lindsay Graham? But Senator Grahamnesty is up for re-election next year and probably doesn´t want to be the Dick Lugar of 2014.
So, ´´Meet the Press´´ has a job opening for a disloyal Republican, and let´s hope no one will agree to fill it.
Say what you will, but Senator McCain AND Senator Lindsay Graham have done a very good job (lately) of calling out obama and his obama-worshipping-knee-pad-wearing-press, not that it matters to some who are heck-bent on bashing them. Thank you, John McCain!
Why should the LeftMedia care about the murders of 4 Americans? Now if it were 4 homosexuals denied the "right" to marry, or 4 third-trimester Women seeking last minute abortions, or 4 gay troop leaders rejected by the Boy Scouts, or 4 Black people somehow "dissed" by whites, Or 4 illegal aliens denied the right to vote--then the LeftMedia would be all over it.
# 16 Amen. Senators McCain and Graham have been on point on Benghazi ( and Hagel and gun control ) for weeks. Limbaugh and the other far right wing talkers continue to ignore the great job these two have done . Because it doesn´t fit the phony narrative that they have established. For some inexplicable reason, some self appointed Tea Party honchos continue to slam Graham and vow to primary him. If past is prologue, we can watch that seat go the Akin way.
Like several others here, I too cannot understand why our side is still trying to crucify Graham. I´ve listened to him many times in recent weeks, and he is almost alone in taking the Regime to the woodshed, and remaining persistent about it. Conservatives truly are a circular firing squad.
The reason so many of us are hard on McCain and Graham is because we know they will cave. They start out strong but eventually they back down. Asking hard questions is not enough. Get back to me when they demand answers and get them. Evidently the price of American lives is cheap if we can let Obama and this administration get away with the failure to come to the aid of their fellow countrymen when they are begging for help. Will we fiercely advocate on their behalf or just move on as this administration advises.
Thank you Senator McCain. The only trouble with his cover up theory is this administration doesn´t really have to bother. The Gregory press corps will never report the truth on Benghazi so why even bother covering up? All they have to do is stonewall their way through a few hearings and demonize anyone who wants answers.
Oh, and wait for a Republican to take a drink of water during a speech. Gregory´s news company will air THAT 155 times LOL. Useful idiots.
Good for McCain for asking Gregory this question; however, McCain must not care all that much either since he won´t block an incompetent like Hagel from becoming Secretary of Defense. You can´t have it both ways, John. Do you honestly think Hagel is going to buck King Barry if another Benghazi happens and the Muslim BroHoods want to take over?
Of course Gregory doesn´t care. Gregory is memorable for his arrogance, rudeness and overweening conceit when he was a member of the White House Press Corps during the Bush administration. Surely we all can remember this self-important clown barking at Bush like a high school bully barking at a freshman.
I´m with #12. Benghazi happened September 11, 2012. We´re 5 months on and no one is watching David Gregory. On the other hand, the Senate is supposed to providing Advice and Consent on the Hagel and Brennan nominations. Both have decided the questioning has gone on long enough even though the questions haven´t been answered. And both have taken swipes at Ted Cruz who is trying to do his job.
WE all know that 4 Americans were sacrificed and essentially jettisoned from any meaning by the Regime...The unanswered questions are: A.) what has happened to the Thirty-one people who have been hidden by the Regime... B.)Folks who could answer the questions about what really happened in Benghazi? 1.)They could come forward and tell America the truth. 2.) Are they still alive, or were they sacrificed to the Big Ego in the WH?
QUESTIONS Without AANSWERS! Thanks to the Urinalists of the Press Corpse.
Some twit from the White House was on Fox News this morning and stated that the White House was engaged all evening with what was going on the Libya. He also stated, with a straight face, that it was because of the leadership of obama. He said all this with a straight. They must take the masses as a bunch of idiots. There are so many layers to this.
People are hard on Graham and McCain because they deserve it. They have undercut Republicans at every turn.
Has McCain done a good job on Benghazi? Well, I suppose. But the only reason he was even invited on the show is because he´s once again undercutting Republicans on the Hagel issue. Which is a very important issue. Will he undercut on the vile Brennan as well? If he operates true to form he will.
The reason many on “our side” continue to complain about McCain and Graham is not because they sometimes rouse themselves to stand on conservative issues, but because they never back up the rhetoric with meaningful votes. Example: the Hagel confirmation.
Their pattern is to make some noise on the “news” shows, but then they always vote “yes” on the progressive agenda every time. They never play hardball when it really matters. Where are the rest of the GOP senators? They’re in hiding as McCain and Graham, the designated hitters, lob out a few pop flies to give the crowd a chance to cheer, but in the end they will throw the game.
Go ahead and cheer for the pop flies, those of us who expect, at least, a double-hit are leaving the stadium.
If ONLY McCain could make a clear, articulate argument instead of stammering and stuttering so darn much it diminishes any cognizant point he might accidently make! He is terminally pathetic in any debate. When he and others had the opportunity, to nail Hillary on Benghazi, they were too busy grandstanding and stammering to go for the throat, ask the right questions, and get to the bottom of this event. I wish Trey Gaudy could get Obama, Hillary, Panetta & Susan Rice in a hot room for a good old fashioned interrogation. I think he could get to the bottom of Benghazi and he doesn´t stammer and stutter in McCain´s mealy-mouthed way.
I´m not exactly brimming over with respect and admiration for the people who are criticizing McCain and Graham these days, to put it politely - even if the senators are performing less than perfectly. At least they´re trying.
Majority Leader Harry Reid says the Senate will not extend current farm law if Congress can´t agree on a new farm bill before adjourning next week. House leaders have reserved space on their agenda this week for extending the current law until the end of January. Lawmakers fear that milk prices might rise sharply if dairy subsidies expire Jan. 1. The House and Senate have passed separate versions, but with widespread differences over crop subsidies and how much to cut food stamps. House Speaker John Boehner said last week that the House should extend the current law while negotiators seek
WASHINGTON — Majority Democrats in the Senate won approval Tuesday for one of President Barack Obama´s key judicial nominees, the first of his picks to win confirmation since they weakened the chamber´s filibuster rules. Senators voted 56-38 to approve Washington lawyer Patricia Millett to join the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, the nation´s second most powerful court. Both sides saw Millett´s appointment as pivotal. It will give Democratic-appointed judges a 5-4 majority over those chosen by Republican presidents for that court, which rules on the legality of White House actions and federal agency regulations. Obama praised
In response to Dylan Byers: MSNBC Is Everything the Left Accuses Fox News of Being: The Byers criticism of MSNBC was interesting and significant because it exists at all, but he´s still praising them with faint damn. He goes out of his way to drag Fox down to their level over and over again; he´s willing to concede that MSNBC might be as bad as Fox, when to any objective observer, there is simply no comparison. MSNBC is a gutter-dwelling performance-art interpretation of a shrieking-loon far left website, not a news channel with a high percentage of left-leaning opinion.
Environmental Protection Agency employees received light punishments for “employee integrity” violations and avoided prosecution when crimes allegedly occurred, according to the agency’s inspector general. The IG revealed a list of employee integrity violations that included assault, illegal possession of a weapon, and efforts to solicit improper personal payments from agency contractors, among other violations. Many received light punishments for the offenses, including ethics counseling, short leaves of absence, and informal discussions with supervisors. One employee was sentenced to 18 months of probation for attempting to carry a knife, stashed in one of his shoes, onto a plane. Despite the criminal prosecution, the
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is spending an additional $55 million to “bolster” the healthcare workforce, as Obamacare contributes to shortages in the industry. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced last week that her agency will provide over 270 grants “from diversity to dentistry” to address worker shortages in the healthcare industry. The funding includes $45.4 million to support the nursing workforce, $5.2 million of which will go towards “improving nursing diversity.” The grants also provide $2.4 million for training of doctoral-level psychologists to “address the behavioral health needs of vulnerable and underserved populations,” and $3 million to support
Office Depot said Tuesday it has chosen Boca Raton, Fla. for its new headquarters over Naperville. Office Depot completed its merger with Naperville-based OfficeMax last month, but the pair hadn´t yet announced where the combined company would be based. The companies asked for tax breaks from both states. Illinois lawmakers adjourned last week before making a decision. Last month, the company named Roland Smith, the former head of the U.S. unit of supermarkets operator Delhaize Group, as its new CEO, hoping to tap into his turnaround and integration background. The company said the evaluation of its headquarters selection was based
The most influential think tank in Washington is getting a new address: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Metaphorically speaking, of course. But The Center for American Progress has so many contributors, fellows, and staffers who already work there they may as well make it offical and change the address on their business cards. This is especially true now that the founder and chairman of the board of CAP, John Podesta, is going to work for Obama. New York Times: President Obama, after a rocky year that leaves him at the lowest ebb of his presidency, is bringing into his White House circle the longtime
WASHINGTON- Democratic Representative Mel Watt´s nomination to lead the agency that regulates taxpayer-owned mortgage financiers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac cleared a procedural hurdle in the U.S. Senate, putting it on course for final approval likely later on Tuesday. President Barack Obama nominated Watt in May to head the Federal Housing Finance Agency, but Republicans had blocked a final vote. Last month, however, Senate Democrats changed the rules to allow nominees like Watt to overcome filibusters with a simple majority in the 100-seat chamber. Previously, it took 60 votes.
The generous mystery tipper who has been leaving waiters and waitresses across the country thousands of dollars in "Tips for Jesus" — and stamped with the @tipsforjesus handle — was identified by a New York City waiter as Jack Selby, former PayPal vice president. Aruj Dhawan, a waiter at Bo´s Kitchen, told the New York Post that Selby and two other patrons gave him a $1,000 tip on a $111.05 bill. "As I was about to drop the check off, one of the men said they would ‘make my night.’ They called me over, gave me the check," Dhawan told
General Motors GM -0.22% CEO Dan Akerson and the GM board have selected product chief Mary Barra to succeed him, the company said today, and Akerson is retiring in January. The move will make 33-year GM veteran Barra the first woman to lead a global automaker. Arguably, it will make her the highest-profile female CEO in the world. It also set in motion a cascade of other management changes in the biggest re-set of the automaker’s leadership since the 2009 U.S.-government bailout. But all the moves were internal. Akerson accelerated the timing of his exit by several months because of
Democrats have blamed much of the gridlock on Capitol Hill on a number of GOP extremists who won’t accept legislation that is not perfect in their minds. Asked by Kenneth G. Langone, the co-founder of Home Depot, whether there are any extremists in the Democratic ranks, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said no. “I don’t think there are any extremists in my party,” the Maryland Democrat said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” Mr. Langone expressed disbelief at the comment. “What more can I say,” he said. “The other guys are the bad guys, you are the good guys.” Mr. Hoyer said
“Netflix is casting its vote for Mitt Romney,” quipped The Hollywood Reporter. The video streaming service has acquired a Greg Whiteley documentary titled “Mitt” that will debut January 24. The behind-the-scenes documentary on Romney’s campaigns for president from 2006 to 2012 with a “surprising level of access” to the candidate will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 17. Lisa Nishimura, Netflix vice president of original documentary and comedy, declared "This rare inside look at Mitt Romney and his family as he runs for president showcases a unique kind of storytelling, one which takes the viewer well beyond the
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly

President Obama will make remarks on Nelson Mandela´s legacy during a memorial service Tuesday for the late South African freedom fighter, officials said Monday. "We do expect President Obama to speak as part of the program," said Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications. The president and first lady Michelle Obama departed Monday for Johannesburg, where a Mandela memorial service will be held in a soccer stadium. Obama, who will also spend time with the Mandela family, is not scheduled to hold any bilateral meetings with foreign leaders while in South Africa, Rhodes said. Rhodes also said the

All three networks on Monday morning highlighted the appearance of the Obamas at the Kennedy Center Honors, but only ABC fawned over "fashion win" of First Lady. Lara Spencer enthused that " one of the stars of the show was Michelle Obama." An excited Spencer explained that Mrs. Obama looked "absolutely ravishing in a flowing teal gown as she accompanied President Obama." The co-host declared, "Another big fashion win for the First Lady. CBS This Morning offered a full report on the various performers who were honored, but co-anchor Charlie Rose avoided ABC´s superlatives.
An Iraq veteran who thought he was buying an iPad as a Christmas present after responding to a Craigslist posting, has been shot dead in an Indianapolis parking lot by the fake sellers. New-dad Jim Vester, 32, was lured to an address on Wednesday in the west side of the city and brothers Tyron Kincade, 19, and Tyshaune Kincade, 18, have been arrested after Vester was shot dead leaving behind his one-year-old son, Gavin and wife, Jamie.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell believes the United States should have a socialized, single-payer healthcare system similar to those in Canada and Europe. “I think universal health care is one of the things we should really be focused on, and I hope that will happen,” Powell reportedly said last week. “Whether it’s Obamacare, or son of Obamacare, I don’t care. As long as we get it done.” The Puget Sound Business Journal reported Powell´s remarks at the Prostate Cancer Survivors Celebration Breakfast at the University of Washington´s Cancer Research Center. Powell, the Republican who supported Barack Obama during the last two presidential
