LOS ANGELES — Dozens of protesters rallied outside Los Angeles police headquarters Saturday in support of Christopher Dorner, the former LAPD officer and suspected killer of four who died after a shootout and fire this week at a mountain cabin following one of the biggest manhunts in recent memory. Protesters told the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/11Ndm6i ) they didn´t support Dorner´s deadly methods, but objected to police corruption and brutality, and believed Dorner´s claims of racism and unfair treatment by the department. Many said they were angered by the conduct of the manhunt that led to Dorner´s death and injuries

So the idea that he was treated "unfairly" is total RUBBISH!

This man was no Jesse James, who was supposedly the "Robin Hood" of the West. He was more like Billy the Kid, who killed just for the fun of it. It was the media who glorified these fellows. It is the media and academia who appear to be glorifying this cold blooded killer. Where will the madness stop? If everyone that had a bone to pick, started killing people, the whole country would be gone in a few days. Dorner was mentlly ill, and went too far off the edge of civility. Now that he had a shoot out and died in a blaze, I expect many fictional stories and songs will glorify his "stand up to the man" final days. Alas?

Thinking about this "rally" reminds me of what an old Irish protestant said once while he was watching an IRA parade in Belfast: "Wouldn´t you know it, there´s never a sniper around when you need one."

These are psychologically immature people in the grip of entitlement fantasies. When things do not go their way, temper tantrums and homicidal rage result - and revenge is the order of the day. Civilization itself is the cause of such infantile types. Life has been too easy for them, they have not been sufficiently challenged or had to struggle with reality. They dwell in a fantasy world in which everything is supposed to be fair -as they understand fairness. They easily become enraged and vindictive when events do not conform to their desires. It is not fair that life is not fair! Someone is to blame! Someone has to pay! This childishness underlies much so-called "liberal," i.e. dogmatic, grandiose, intolerant, deeply malicious ideology.

What complicates this thing is that Dorner was quite possibly telling the truth about what he saw, and the "blue machine" responded the same way they always do to whistle blowers and got him fired for it.

I wouldn´t doubt that a bit...

How can he be a murderer? Under our system of law one is innocent until proven guilty. He was never tried and found guilty, because the cops executed him instead of arresting. There were non-lethal methods that could have been used.

MSNBC´s Ed Schultz cursed out a caller on his syndicated radio show, calling the man a “fricking a–hole” and telling him to “get the f— out of here.” Ouch! The foul-mouthed rant happened last week on the “Ed Schultz Radio Show.” But it didn´t make it onto anyone´s radar until conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham played the clip on her show Monday. A new poll conducted by a Democratic pollster is warning of potential impending disaster for Democrats in this year´s midterm elections because of a familiar problem — diminished turnout among voters on whom they are reliant. The Washington Post´s Greg Sargent got an early look at the poll, which was conducted by Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg of Democracy Corps for Women’s Voices Women Vote. The poll found that voters in the so-called "Rising American Electorate" — unmarried women, minorities, and younger voters — are much less likely to vote this year than in 2012. The disparity is key. Kiev -- Russia warned Tuesday that any use of force in Ukraine´s eastern region could lead to civil war, as Kiev seeks to regain control after pro-Moscow uprisings in three cities. Pro-Russian protesters seized government buildings in the three cities of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv on Sunday. Rebels occupying Donetsk´s regional government building Monday declared a "people´s republic" and called for a referendum on secession from Ukraine to be held by May 11. Russia´s Foreign Ministry said reports that the protesters are facing a crackdown by Ukrainian authorities are of particular concern. "We are calling for the immediate cessation of

Since the release of the new IPCC report on the current and future effects of climate change, climate hawks (including myself) have made the same very basic argument that we always do: Climate change looks bad, potentially very bad, and therefore we should curtail the greenhouse gas emissions which cause it. Malaysia and Indonesia have banned the biblical epic Noah, joining other Muslim nations in vetoing the Hollywood movie because of its visual depiction of the prophet. Film censors in both countries said today that the portrayal of the ark-building prophet by Russell Crowe was against Islamic laws. Depictions of any prophet are shunned in Islam to avoid worship of a person rather than God. "The film Noah is not allowed to be screened in this country to protect the sensitivity and harmony in Malaysia´s multi-racial and multi-religious community," Film Censorship Board chairman Abdul Halim Abdul Hamid said in a statement.

A new movie, “Fight Church,” raises the unusual question: “Can you love your neighbor while kneeing him in the face?” The documentary, by directors Daniel Junge and Bryan Storkel, is about pastors who practice mixed martial arts with their parishioners. “Tough guys need Jesus, too,” one parishioner explained in the trailer for the film. The party has traditionally had trouble with older voters, losing the group aged 65 and over by 21 points in 2010 — when Republicans picked up 63 seats — and by 12 points in the 2012 presidential race. Seniors are the GOP’s most reliable voting bloc in midterm years, turning out in higher numbers than Democratic base voters. A recent Gallup poll showed seniors have become even more Republican over the last two decades; in 2013, 48 percent considered themselves Republican.
