Environmentalists suing the Interior
Department over… solar zones

Hot Air, by Erika Johnsen

Original Article

Oh, the sweet, sweet irony of environmentalist infighting. The Obama administration (while somehow finding every excuse in the world to dawdle and delay on major economy-impacting items like federal drilling permits, hydraulic fracturing rules, and the Keystone XL pipeline) decided to make an especial project out using public lands for utility-scale solar plants. The Interior Department identified ‘solar zones’ across Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah, and prioritized designing a program to fast-track solar permits for their designated areas. The entire purpose of this ostentatious bureaucratic exercise, of course, is to help the Obama administration beef up

You can wax poetic all you want about how really awesome it is to protect the aesthetic value of the grand canyon or some other scenic wonder but the truth is that washington dc stealing land that belongs to a state is an evil that should never have been allowed. Once they are allowed to steal they will not stop. They told California they had to steal California´s deserts to save the creosote bushes then happily burn them off to put in solar arrays and windmills. They find worm or slug or moth to justify the theft of Utah´s land that just happens to sit over massive oil reserves and happily collect the royalties for the oil that now belong to them. Chinese accounting teams have already conducted audits of federaly owned (stolen) assets for possible payment of debts. Chinese government officials have publicaly stated that they will be building large tourist camps in the US to house Chinese tourists (read work camps), this statement was one day after the big Chinese reception at the white house. The puchase of a large Canadian oil firm was authorized by the US federal government two weeks ago, it had to be authorized by the US because major oil leases in the gulf were in the Canadian portfolio. The Chinese government has publically told washington dc that Americans must be disarmed...perhaps the Chinese are worried that Americans might get a bit techy about clear cutting Oregon while feasting on Peking spotted owl with noodles, or strip mining Yosemite.

The constitution was a promise to the states that something like this would never happen, the tenth ammendment was a contractual promise that this could never happen, but at this point, what does it matter.

Texas retained title to her public lands when she became a state. I doubt our good Texas officials foresaw the scope of a future federal land-grab, but maybe they were prescient.

I can´t wait for the scientifically ignorant envirowhackos to come up with their next environmental boogey man.
I have a good one for them....
With all these solar plants getting built, they´re going to use up all the sunlight and then WE´LL ALL FREEZE!!
I wonder how many grants I can get to study that? Move over, Michael Mann, global warming is so...yesterday.

Well, there is at least one liberal idiot that is advocating spraying some reflective chemical into the atmosphere that will reflect the sunlight and ‘stop global warming.’

They seem to be unable to conceive the result of ‘global freezing.’ Much worse than ‘global warming,’ I can assure you. One consolation is that the results of this would be much worse north of the Mason-Dixon line.

But then…if we can save the life of just one polar bear it will be worth it!

Even worse than the creosote bushes is the thin layer of micro life on the surface that takes centuries to build or rebuild in this case. Of course the enviros don´t use logic in their conflicting arguments.

There’s a fair amount of snark online Monday about Jamie Coots, the Pentecostal pastor and reality-TV star who was fatally bitten by a snake he was handling in over-literal adherence to Luke 10:19. ("Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”) An atheist website offered this tasteless observation: “Pentecostal preachers are among the most poisonous creatures on Earth, but every once in while they bump into things even more venomous.” But even fellow Christians are finding fault with Coot for misinterpreting Scripture

As speculation that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will run for President in 2016 heats up, the question that must be asked is: Hillary 2016, prison or POTUS? Recently, the Washington Free Beacon reported on statements found in archival documents by one of Hillary Clinton’s closest friends, Diane Blair, painting a portrait of Hillary as a ruthless First Lady. Without question ruthless is an accurate description except not only is Hillary ruthless, she is lawless. As former civil servant Linda Tripp of Bill Clinton’s impeachment fame recounted to this journalist during the Clintons’ last year in the White House, Hillary was behind

On Fox News Sunday Senator Mike Lee debated Representative Xavier Becerra over the president’s repeated lawless acts related to the Affordable Care Act. (Mr. Obama has unilaterally changed or delayed the ACA 24 times without seeking the approval of Congress.) It was a rout, with Senator Lee blowing apart the argument offered up by Representative Becerra. The Democrat from California was misleading in his claims. He ducked the questions asked by host Chris Wallace and kept reverting to pabulum and talking points. Senator Lee, on the other hand, was terrific. His answers were crisp, direct, and articulate. CARACAS, Venezuela — President Nicolas Maduro´s government on Monday gave three U.S. Embassy officials 48 hours to leave the country, accusing the Obama administration of siding with student protesters that Venezuela accuses of inciting violence. The announcement by Foreign Minister Elias Jaua came amid fears that renewed clashes could erupt Tuesday when both pro- and anti-government activists hold demonstrations in the capital. Jaua said the senior U.S. consular officers were trying to infiltrate Venezuelan universities, the hotbed of the recent unrest, under the cover of doing visa outreach. Repeating charges by Maduro, who has expelled American diplomats twice before, Jaua said the

A tipster tried to warn the Labor Department in 2011 that its unemployment statistics were being fabricated by the people at the Census Bureau who compile the data. But the warning was either missed or ignored by Labor. That allegedly allowed the data falsification to go on for years. As I’ve been telling you, the falsification is now the subject of a number of investigations, including one by the House Oversight Committee and Congress’ Joint Economic Committee. Also investigating is the Office of the Inspector General at the Commerce Department, which is in charge of Census. And I’m hearing that the US Attorney in

The American political system is designed to make presidents seem important. They pick their teams, their goals, their fights—and if they do these things skillfully enough, we say they’ve made history. This is what Barack Obama seems to mean by getting his “paragraph right.” Yet most of the choices that presidents make are defined by circumstance. Some things they might like to do are impossible; many successes fall into their laps; some setbacks are not their fault. Our leaders can pick many things, but not their moment in history. Obama partisans make this point incessantly. Consider, they urge, the terrible

There´s a debate going on about Hillary Clinton´s past. If she runs for president in 2016, should Republicans reach back to the scandals of her years as First Lady? Or should they focus on more recent times, especially her tenure as Secretary of State, to build a case against her? The GOP doesn´t have to choose. Of course Clinton´s recent experiences are relevant to a presidential run. But so are her actions in the 90s, the 80s and even the 70s. It´s not ancient history; it reveals something about who Clinton was and still is. And re-examining her past is entirely consistent with practices in recent campaigns. In the 2012 presidential race,
