Long after her hospitalizations for having had suicidal thoughts, Brittany Geldert would lie in bed each morning, debating whether to go to school. (Snip) The 16-year-old sophomore at Champlin Park High School now prefers to be called Lane, not Brittany, but she says the biggest change this school year has been in how she and other students in the district´s gay and lesbian community are treated. Nearly 12 months after a landmark settlement and a detailed anti-bullying consent decree adopted by Minnesota's largest school district, school officials, an attorney for the LGBT Rights Project

gee.. it´s almost like the term "bully" doesn´t refer to a big kid picking on a little kid, or a FOOD FIGHT turning into a SOMALI/AFRICAN AMERICAN fight..
seems like it MIGHT just be a way of destroying AMERICAN values by injecting a homosexual agenda into the mushheads in Publik Koncentrashun Kamps..
gotta kick up that 1.7% number..
long live home schooling...

If you can´t stand the heat get out of the kitchen. I thought gays and lesbians were "proud." If you´re really proud you ignore what anyone else thinks or does unless it turns physical.

Minnesota billionaire Glen Taylor has made a formal offer to acquire the Star Tribune, a purchase that would add the state’s largest media company to his diverse business empire. Taylor said in an interview Tuesday that he has made a cash offer as an individual without any other investors. He declined to say how much he would pay, but he emphasized that the Star Tribune is the only media company he is pursuing. “I’m interested in this one because it’s a Minnesota paper,” Taylor said.

"He was a good man," she said. 59-year-old Gregorio Ramirez is charged with stabbing and killing Ortiz. Rameriz was his co-worker at Bailey Nurseries in Newport. Police say, Thursday afternoon they got a call about a medical emergency at the nursery. When they got there Ortiz was already dead. An investigation began and it determined Ramirez was the only person with Ortiz at the time of the stabbing.

Her boyfriend Matthew Vincent Serbus once lived in St. Paul and had a long criminal record for theft, robbery and drugs. Now, Pfister’s family and friends are searching for answers about how and why the couple died of gunshot wounds after leading police on a high-speed chase on Hwy. 212 from Chaska to Eden Prairie on Friday morning. The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office identified the two Saturday. Officials have not released many details about the incident or explained what prompted police to open fire.

Thirteen people were injured, six critically, early Wednesday moirning after an explosion caused a major fire at a grocery store and apartment building on Cedar Ave. in south Minneapolis. No cause has been identified as of yet, said Greg Nelson, supervisor of the Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center, but the building that housed the West Bank Grocery and a mosque is likely a total loss. A police squad car reported the fire at around 8:16 a.m. after seeing the explosion and seeing debris on the street, he said. Flames were shooting 20 feet from the building, officials said. The second and third floor later collapsed. The injured were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center and Univesity Hospital.

Federal authorities have obtained confidential documents that shed new light on JPMorgan Chase´s decision to hire the children of China´s ruling elite, securing emails that show how the bank linked one prominent hire to "existing and potential business opportunities" from a Chinese government-run company. The documents, which also include spreadsheets that list the bank´s "track record" for converting hires into business deals, offer the most detailed account yet of JPMorgan´s "Sons and Daughters" hiring program, which has been at the center of a federal bribery investigation for months.

Shavelle Chavez-Nelson spent fewer than four of the past 14 years outside the walls of Minnesota jails or prisons. In that time, he was accused or convicted of at least seven violent crimes. He and Anarae Schunk, a smart 20-year-old college student, met at a bus stop in the summer of 2012, during Nelson’s longest stretch as a free man. Before getting to the speech itself, it’s worth noting a few things. When the Democrats passed and Barack Obama signed Obamacare, the majority opposed it. About 56%, in fact. A majority have consistently opposed that law ever since. The Obama administration touted 7 million sign-ups by March 31 as “success.” When that goal appeared to be unreachable, the administration suggested that maybe 5 or 6 million would be enough. Now, as if by magic, they have their number. Somehow. All along, the administration has touted false numbers of enrollees. All along, the administration has neglected to admit that Obamacare is

A few months back, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius stated for the record that 7 million Obamacare sign-ups by the end of March would constitute success. She was clear about it. But then February came, and February always stinks. It’s just a lousy month. You’re tired of winter, you’re still miles away from spring, and no one was signing up for Obamacare. That 7 million figure looked totally unreachable. So Sebelius does what every other member of the Obama administration does when confronted with inconvenient facts. She lied. A triumphant President Barack Obama declared his signature medical insurance overhaul a success, saying it has made America´s health care system ´a lot better.´ But buried in the 7.1 million enrollments he announced in a heavily staged Rose Garden appearance is a more unsettling reality. Numbers from a RAND Corporation study that has been kept under wraps suggest that barely 858,000 previously uninsured Americans – nowhere near 7.1 million – have paid for new policies and joined the ranks of the insured by Monday night. Others were already insured, including millions who lost coverage when their existing policies were suddenly

With Chris Christie in deep trouble, Republican poobahs are reportedly looking to Jeb Bush to save their party in 2016. The former two-term governor of Florida speaks fluent Spanish, is a convert to Catholicism, and has high name recognition. Jeb could raise millions of dollars over night by just saying “yes” to running. Despite all this, there are strong reasons Republicans should say no to him. 1. His last name is poison. Let’s face it, if Jeb Bush had the last name of Something Else he would have already run for president in 2008 or 2012. According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll registered voters were asked if they would definitely NOT vote for Jeb Bush and 50 percent said they would not.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – President Obama compared the Republican budget plan to a "stinkburger" or "meanwich" during a speech here Wednesday, using a series of zingers in an attempt to strike a contrast with the GOP on economic issues in an election year. Obama, who visited the local Zingerman´s deli before the speech, said that Republican proposals to cut taxes for wealthier Americans and

Vegetarians also have a higher socioeconomic status and a lower body mass index.
